This video is meant to serve as a guide highlighting 7 absolute must do’s after taking delivery of your Tesla Model 3. When I first took delivery of my Model 3, I was extremely perplexed at the vehicle because I had no idea where to start. There were so many different functions of the car and it took me a while to go through a checklist of everything I needed to do for the car. I definitely don’t regret spending so much time in the car, because being in a Tesla is AMAZING, but hopefully you can speed through the essentials after watching this video!

actually, you don't need to format the HDD 1st anymore, you can do it right from the car's menu now. It will not only format the drive, but automatically set up the required folders.

Depends if your car came with the update that includes that or not. Mine didn't (recent delivery)
I think you still have to create the capture folder manually. format won’t create/add, I had to.
i ordered a M3 LR AWD in the middle of August, the specifications claims it comes with a USB drive already, and its now in the glovebox and not in the console. Hope I read it right

What was the experience like during these times?
@@garrettzickgraf5202 Tesla is trying contactless deliveries which usually mean any papers you had to sign would be waiting for you in the car and you drop them at the door but since I had a trade-in I had to sign papers with a Tesla rep present. After that, the rep said congrats and handed me my key cards. There was no run down of the car (I didn't need one anyway). Quick and easy process.

Sentry mode is the hardest thing to use. If you turn it on it pretty much records everything, which runs the battery down.

Quick update: Tesla now includes a USB with all new deliveries that are already set up and ready to use Sentry Mode and Dash cam!

Thanks! I’m taking delivery of an M3 LR early next week. This is my first EV; I’m excited but also sad and nervous lol. It’s been a few weeks since I drove the demo M3 and needless to say, I still love driving my tuned MK7.5 GTI. I’m sure I’ll enjoy the new car, but I’m concerned that I will miss my vw.
I think about this kind of thing as well. I want to keep driving my Subaru BRZ stick and worry I’ll miss it for a more sterile, but also fun Tesla.
I definitely miss ripping through the gears in my previous Subaru STI and cruising in the mountains with my previous BMW M235i but no regrets getting a Tesla. Could always get a weekend car on the side haha
Haha! My SR+ is ETA Nov/Dec and I’m excited but also sad to say goodbye to my Elantra GT N Line 6 Speed. Likely my last stick shift gas powered car. 😞😀
did you do the chrome delete and center console wrap yourself? if so, how difficult was it and where did you get the kit from?
I did! The chrome delete I got from Amazon and my girlfriend got me the center console wrap as a gift. Both of the products can be found in the description. Super easy to install both of them, you just need to be patient with it and it'll turn out great!

Good question! I don't believe so but if you don't have a harddrive/usb you can still turn sentry mode on and it will continue to flash and warn the same way. I'll have to look into this more!

Good question! I'm not entirely sure but i have heard they are speeding up the Model Y deliveries so hopefully you get yours soon!

You're right! The "pin-to-drive" feature adds a good layer of security
One thing you should do first is set up a Drivers profile Called Original or something without changing anything so you can go back to the original state of the car

There are complainers pointing out dings, misalignment of doors and other quirky issues. Did you have any problems that made you have to call for service? I hate cosmetic problems. Thanks for the tips. Looking forward to a 2022.
Tesla has improved a lot. I wouldn't be worried about those issues. Once you get the car you'll love it

Something else to add that’s very important that you mentioned but didn’t point out as a key thing to do: that center consul wrap is very important and one of the first things you should do. Whatever material/paint they used for the center consul scratches extremely easily and you don’t want your brand new Tesla to be all scratched inside.

Either one will work fine. I have a regular hard drive and it never clunks around :)
my 2008 Benz had 3 driver profiles so when I saw them on my M3 I thought it was super common

@@JayWuOfficial lol it was an 08 purchased in 13 for less than what I paid for an SR+ but that 08 had a lot of features some cars still don't. Mercedes isn't the same anymore though, they slack

First thing with any car is get tinting and paint protection no need to get registration and insurance since in Australia thats alway done for u before u get it.

Do you charge to 100% on road trips? Or do you always stick to that 80-90% regardless?
Still haven't gone on a road trip with my SR+ yet lol furthest I've gone is probably SF and that's about an hour away from me. But 90% is plenty. Charging to 100% to START a road trip is ideal, but then ideally you'd only want to charge to ~60% or enough to get you to the next supercharger since the first half is a lot quicker to "fill up"

Can anybody help me trying to connect the Tesla app to my Tesla i don’t get any options to pair my phone to connect to my car I did get it from a 3rd party tho
To connect your phone to your Tesla just tap into your controls inside your car, click on Locks, and then add your phone that way. Also make sure to contact Tesla and transfer your car to your Tesla account if you haven't done so yet

You just need one of the keycards to pair your phone to the car then you can use your phone as a key
