Excellent. We are waiting for delivery of a Model Y long range in the next couple of days, and watching this video gave me a practical "to do" list for getting the car into use. I really like your clarity and attention to detail, please keep up the good work!
Picking up a 3 in a few hours. Came here for tips on what to inspect when taking delivery and stayed for all the other tips. Now looking forward to kitting it out. Floor mats are about as boring as it gets but one of the most important to help keep a car clean. Love the ring. Not a ring guy but may have to convert ;-)
Yikes bro. When washing the paint make sure to use a microfiber cloth. That brush you were using will create scratches, even with soft bristles.
Hasn’t yet in 16 months. Good advice though.
@@CfTesla Shine a LED light at your paint, I bet you will have minor scratches and swirl marks. :(
Please use a microfiber wash mitt!!

Hello Cody, I subscribed to your channel a couple of weeks ago and thank you very much for all your videos, which I find very useful. I ordered my 2022 Model Y at the time and it’s scheduled delivery is between June 8 and July 10, yet I’m trying to get as much information as possible and get ready for the delivery. I don’t know if you e addressed the following question in one of your videos, but if so I haven’t been able to find it. I ordered my Model Y with the 20 inch induction wheels but after seeing so many videos where Tesla owners complain about how easy it is to damage those rims because they protrude from the tires, I wonder whether it would be better to change my order to the regular 19 inch wheels and when the time comes to change to original tires, replace those 19 inch rims (and, of course, the tires) with a set 20 inch after market rims and tires that don’t suffer from the same “protrusion” issues of the OEM 20 inch rims. Any thoughts? Please advise. Thanks

just a question, regarding the aftermarket dashcam.
I understand that Tesla's come with their own built in Cameras for dashcam and for sentry mode....is it possible to install a 8 channel or 4 channel DVR seperate to the original cameras which come with the car, and is it possible to install a light pod on the external camera for the one mounted on the roof in a Model X or Y if it were to have a single mounted rook rack for the front and NOT the back?
If you don’t keep the map service after 30 days does the maps still work? Or can you use Google maps on your screen from your iPhone?

Nice! I did my 1st test drive ever last week on Friday in a Model Y by myself and 2 more on Sunday in a Y and 3 back-to-back with my girlfriend. I don't have much driving experience but you would never know by how well I drove those cars. Especially in a city filled with all sorts of ridiculous drivers like NYC. Both cars are absolutely amazing and you'll feel like you're gliding on air the moment you get going in them.

the paint on teslas are world class soft so it will blemish with ease i recommend to clear bra the tactical places or full body wrap.
if you have stock tesla tires they are thinner than the rims so its epic easy to rash your wheels and you can get anti rim rash rings and when time to replace tires get wider tires.
there are some decent looking mudflaps that may prolong the life of your under paint
basenor USB 2.0 hub is the best investment for tech its hands down better and cheaper than any other option

How did you get the word Tesla printed on your headrests? When I went to place an order I did not see that as an option. The headrests do not have a labeling.

Since you are going to be doing a video about all of the accessories and items you have added in the near future I will add a couple more that I have added. 1. A wrap for the center console lid 2. A wrap for the speakers which is on the lower portion of the doors.
When on a slight incline my wife uses her foot to open the door enough to get out so it was a necessary addition!

Yes, I bought it. I have a dog with us about 95% of the time!
I am so pleased with dog mode 👍 before the Tesla, I drove a Prius for 11 years and had think about the weather to decide if our dog could go with us or not. But with dog mode, I just have to remember to turn it on so that he is comfortable whatever the outside temperature 🌡️

The right side of the steering wheel partially obscures the left side of the display. I have to move my head to the right a bit to fully visualize the whole display.

Hi Cody, i am on your Facebook page. I have some problens with some turns on autosteer. I recorded some video, this one turn i adusted the speed to 15 miles min. The red steering light still come on and pop out auto steering. I do blame the way they design the lines being to wide.

I have been charging my 2020 model 3 each evening on the 120 V system. I drive 30 miles per day to and from work .I took delivery about 2 months ago . Do you suggest installing a wall connector at this point ?
Sounds like 110/120 v will work for you.
They never mentioned any premium package when I bought mine. I still don’t have a delivery date. Will they tell me about it then?

I find myself having to jerk the steering wheel to cancel auto pilot on the freeway a lot. When my lane is going slow and Tesla thinks we can switch lane but cars are coming up fast from that lane, many times, I had to force it back in the lane to prevent accident. Autopilot is very bad when there’s accident or traffic

If you want the car to change Files itself, you have to pay for an extra package. Otherwise, you have to activate the Auto pilot every time you have changed files manually. it can be experienced as troublesome. One car tester didn't like having to activate the Auto pilot every time he changed lanes
I am buying at 2020 Tesla S, will I be able to use the key card from the 1st owner or do I have to purchase another one. If I can use the prior owners key card, do I have to do anything to it? Is it designated by name or by car?

FYI Tax Time info: Just talked with my tax person and they tell me even though I purchased my car in Oct 2019, I am entitled to a $1875 Tax credit, which the dealer should have told me about. So will re-compute 2019 tax to see if that will make a difference. If it makes difference will file an amended return for 2019. And also if you received a Energy Rebate from your Power company - it does not create a taxable event. Also working on tax credit for Install of Charging station in my condo.
If you're going to travel, Tesla's travel guide is great. It tells you which path to take and where to charge somewhere to reach the goal . Let's say you're going to a place that's 621 miles from you
I plan to put a lot of music on my IPhone. What steps will I have to do to play that music? Will I have to go through all of those steps each time I play the I phone music?
No after you sync it with your car each time you get in your car all you have to do is make sure it is set to play from phone and it will play whatever audio is on your phone

What do you mean?
2 bucket method. One with shampoo and water and the other the rinse bucket with just water. Always use the rinse bucket after each panel.
I beg the differ. I've walked the Tesla lots before and the vast majority of their vehicles, in all models, continue to have multiple issues with panel gaps, door alignment, dirt marks on interior, and factory tape left behind at time of delivery.
Just got a new 2021 Tesla 3. Trying to figure out how to charge my iPhone 6S... until I get a new one since the charger plate won’t charge anything under a 10, which they told me when I called to see why my phone won’t charge. Is the car in this not a 2021? It looks a bit different. Also I LOVE all this awesome info, but even in my S which is a larger phone when you’re showing the screen you’re so far away I can’t really see what your pressing. 🤷🏻♀️

@@CfTesla there isn’t a usb outlet in the 2021... they’re usb-c I found them in the backseat behind the front console area. Bought a usb-c to lightening today... all is good in my world again til I get my new phone 🙌🏼

The one from Tesla is fine. I use the SD I have linked in the description because it can plug into my phone and I can take off the footage with a 3rd party app.

Do you need premium connectivity to receive notifications from the car, or get updates, if you are in a location where the car can't connect to wifi? That's the only thing I care about...I don't stream music or video (I use my phone or a USB drive).
nope...all the connectivity does is give you streaming media and satellite view mostly. All updates are done over Wifi or hotspot from phone.

HI, Your #1 advice to take car's picture and post - sounds a bit strange for people aiming to drive ( main purpose of the car ) instead of posting themselves around )))
Not sure I get your post. It’s a progression of to do’s. Do it in whatever order you want just do them.
Remember that you get worse sound quality when streaming music over bluetooth. Because Tesla does not use the best Bluetooth Kodec such as APTX HD or LDAC . And if you use your phone as a router, you probably can't expect the same speed as my router at home or 4G over the mobile network
1st tip! Run software update!!
Please touch on how to get around the login on your google account / TH-cam app, i been trying to read forums and contact Tesla and still the same message comes up.. ''Browser is unsafe'' And i think if anybody can get around it you can, so PLEASE help us !

Remember that the car Should be updated, which requires an internet connection of some kind either via Wi-Fi or the car's connection to the mobile network. And it's probably not small files we're talking about
