Funny story, my hunt for the shiny 3 segment dudunsparce was pretty quick- into the 20s and I got 2 3 segment shinies from a batch of 5, one of which had the lunchtime mark. Meanwhile it has taken me much longer to get shiny jumbo pokemon with humungo power 3.
This series was a frickin whirlwind. I am so inspired to hunt for a shiny three segment too, but I have no determination and will probably only evolve like 3 dunsparce per month 😂 Congratulations on completing your quest!

@@user-br2dw8no4r i actually got a shiny tandemaus a few days ago and it wasn’t because I was just trying to kill it that I found out it was shiny I actually noticed that the shirt parts were a pale yellow. I came to the conclusion that it’s easier (for me at least) to spot the difference between one pale colour and another pale colour than it is to spot the difference between one colour and a slightly paler colour (shiny slowpoke). I also think that it helped that I had another colour on the same Pokémon to act as a baseline to distinguish the colour change from light colour. Maushold might not be too difficult because it’s so small that many can spawn in a smaller area (outbreaks), therefore increasing spawn rates Also helpful tip for shiny hunting Pokémon with subtle shiny colours: look up the shiny you’re looking for and find one part that stands out. Then when you shiny hunt, try picking out that part from the rest. For example, if you’re looking for shiny Persian, although the shiny is subtle, you can pick out the shiny by it’s pink inner ears.
1:20 Oooo, I know this one! Its because of a design oversight with how outbreaks and forms work. Since 3 segment is so rare, people assumed it would apply to dunsparce too. Heres how the oversight works. Outbreak spawns are determined by a table of available pokemon, but the table doesnt have multiple entries for pokemon with multiple forms, only whatever the default form is in the pokedex. Pokemon like tatsugiri with multiple forms will only outbreak as the curly form, even if the minimap shows the outbreak is a different form. This is because the minimap icon has an extra step where the image chosen for the map is randomized after the pokemon is chosen for an outbreak. The other forms of course can still spawn in the area, but they are uneffected by the outbreak odds. I can see why people might assume this "glitch" would apply to dunsparce, but since dunsparce dont have different forms until AFTER the evolution, its not affected by it
Man this series was such a blast i'm sad its over. Don't know if ill ever try this hunt but its on my list (I got traded a 3 segment shiny called valentine in a love ball that seems legit). I was algo there for 2/3 of the stream and it was so chill even though usually i'm not much a stream person I had a great time! Congrats on getting the shinies!

That was a journey! For some months, I took some time every evening to see how Catherine's hunt went. The highs, the lows, Catherine getting distraught, then embracing the insanity of going through more than 200 Dunsparces without getting a three-segmented. The realization that doing one dunsparce a day would not do it...
Do I plan on playing Scarlet and Violet? No. Have I ever went shiny hunting for any of the Pokemon games I have played? Also no. Have I ever seen this channel before. Never. However, I decided to check out why this was being recommended to me. And I have to say, I love your editing style. I was not aware of how much personality the player characters can show off with their movement in the new pokemon games, so I was caught off guard, but I can see you definitely use all these movements to the full extent with your editing style. Very cool video, kept me interested in a topic I have no interest in for a full half hour.

I'm new to your channel so idk if you surprise traded these away but a long time ago I was surprise traded a shiny 2 segment Dudunsparce. It's original trainer is named Catherine, and has the name Dave.
So fun fact from rng manipulation experience. PID values of pokemon are tied to natures and IVs in early generations. Any Dunsparce with a PID value turned into a decimal value that ends in 00 will evolve into 3 segments when transferred up. So the fact you got so many with the specific natures and such was very cool since PID values are limited in early generations. Your odds from hunting them in gens 3 or 4 are way higher!
to be honest i wouldn't even try looking for a shiny since i know that the bad luck always follows me. I respect you for having such patience of doing this, keep up :)!

@@user-br2dw8no4r i actually got a shiny tandemaus a few days ago and it wasn’t because I was just trying to kill it that I found out it was shiny I actually noticed that the shirt parts were a pale yellow. I came to the conclusion that it’s easier (for me at least) to spot the difference between one pale colour and another pale colour than it is to spot the difference between one colour and a slightly paler colour (shiny slowpoke). I also think that it helped that I had another colour on the same Pokémon to act as a baseline to distinguish the colour change from light colour. Maushold might not be too difficult because it’s so small that many can spawn in a smaller area (outbreaks), therefore increasing spawn rates
Also helpful tip for shiny hunting Pokémon with subtle shiny colours: look up the shiny you’re looking for and find one part that stands out. Then when you shiny hunt, try picking out that part from the rest. For example, if you’re looking for shiny Persian, although the shiny is subtle, you can pick out the shiny by it’s pink inner ears.

1:20 Oooo, I know this one! Its because of a design oversight with how outbreaks and forms work. Since 3 segment is so rare, people assumed it would apply to dunsparce too.
Heres how the oversight works. Outbreak spawns are determined by a table of available pokemon, but the table doesnt have multiple entries for pokemon with multiple forms, only whatever the default form is in the pokedex.
Pokemon like tatsugiri with multiple forms will only outbreak as the curly form, even if the minimap shows the outbreak is a different form. This is because the minimap icon has an extra step where the image chosen for the map is randomized after the pokemon is chosen for an outbreak. The other forms of course can still spawn in the area, but they are uneffected by the outbreak odds.
I can see why people might assume this "glitch" would apply to dunsparce, but since dunsparce dont have different forms until AFTER the evolution, its not affected by it
Man this series was such a blast i'm sad its over. Don't know if ill ever try this hunt but its on my list (I got traded a 3 segment shiny called valentine in a love ball that seems legit). I was algo there for 2/3 of the stream and it was so chill even though usually i'm not much a stream person I had a great time! Congrats on getting the shinies!

The highs, the lows, Catherine getting distraught, then embracing the insanity of going through more than 200 Dunsparces without getting a three-segmented. The realization that doing one dunsparce a day would not do it...

Do I plan on playing Scarlet and Violet? No. Have I ever went shiny hunting for any of the Pokemon games I have played? Also no. Have I ever seen this channel before. Never.
However, I decided to check out why this was being recommended to me. And I have to say, I love your editing style. I was not aware of how much personality the player characters can show off with their movement in the new pokemon games, so I was caught off guard, but I can see you definitely use all these movements to the full extent with your editing style. Very cool video, kept me interested in a topic I have no interest in for a full half hour.

So fun fact from rng manipulation experience. PID values of pokemon are tied to natures and IVs in early generations. Any Dunsparce with a PID value turned into a decimal value that ends in 00 will evolve into 3 segments when transferred up. So the fact you got so many with the specific natures and such was very cool since PID values are limited in early generations. Your odds from hunting them in gens 3 or 4 are way higher!
