What's weird is that the Airbus normally has a ton of safety alarm warnings that the computers detect. You'd think they'd have a "gear extended" warning once the planes gets above 10,000 feet or so. But apparently they didn't think of that. And traditionally, when the callout for 'positive rate' is called out, they are supposed to also say, 'gear up' and do just that!! As a non pilot I know by heart the call outs , V1 , VR , Positive climb and Gear up (not flaps up) . Luckily they did not stall in the low density air of India .
This video reminds me of an incident that happened to me about 30 years ago. I found an inexpensive flight from San Francisco to London on a charter. What this means is some company sold tickets and then contracted with an airline to provide teh airplane. A few weeks before the flight I found that an Indian Airline would be used. I was curious so I looked up the safety record. Unlike other airlines which publish their saftely record, I found that at that time India did not publish these records because they were so bad. They were considered one of the most dangerous airlines to fly with. I hanged my flight.
If it’s true that they got fired, that’s the right call. That captain obviously doesn’t have the basic thinking skills necessary to do the job. Imagine saying “welp, this thing won’t go any higher than 24,000 feet so I guess 37,000 is outta the question-what’s that sound?” Also whoever graded their exams and gave them a pilot license should probably be arrested for conspiracy to commit public endangerment.
Apart from everything else, "Positive rate, flaps up" instead of 'gear up' could have caused a stall. From the lack of analytical and problem solving skills, neither seem to have the qualities to pass the test to become pilots in the first place. How were they allowed to fly a commercial plane?
Just wait until the effect of #unitedairlines new DEI quota starts taking effect, where the focus is on skin color and gender, and not competence. Thank you for a reasonable comment. Most ignorant commenters here fail to acknowledge that the pilots successfully landed the plane, intact, at an active airport with no harm to any passengers, then continued on safely to Dubai. Meanwhile, there are hundreds of videos out there of male pilots crashing their planes, maiming and killing hundreds of passengers due to stupidity in the cockpit.
'Pilots are also surprised why and how the cabin crew or passengers did not complain of noise and vibrations associated with flying at lower altitudes' 😆 you can't count on those passengers!
Sounds like a bunch of errors. Complacency so they probably were not following an official checklist after takeoff You would think that, when they realized that the ascent rate was less than normal, there should be an immediate checklist that would have included the status of the landing gear. They were already on autopilot so they certainly had the time to do those checks. The only two smart things that they did were to divert when it became obvious that fuel was going to be an issue and when they realized that the gear was still down during approach they kept focus on a safe landing. I’m surprised that the onboard systems wouldn’t have raised an alarm for this. That’s a 2015 AirBus which should have relatively advanced computers that are monitoring status for issues. Gear down above a threshold altitude or above a certain airspeed should be cause for an audible and visual alarm.
no after take off check list completion and no instrument panel monitoring. neither looked at the instrument panel well enough to notice any anomalies.
Motorcycles have a safety in place,so if kickstand is left down the bike will stall. An extended kickstand can cause an accident on the first corner. Airlines with hundreds of million dollars in aviation investment did not install a warning light,or buzzer? Repetition & complacency are the major factor in disasters.
That could cause a crash directly aircraft are not meant to fly at high-speed with gear down. It could cause some form of structural failure, but certainly could run out of fuel and it could cause controllability issues Had They run into bad weather and exceeded the safe speed.
So, no after take off checklist or any other situational awareness raising attention to the "three green" - This is really odd. How did this crew manage to fly in the first place? Or were they so fatigued?
I've never flown much, and certainly have never achieved a pilot's license, but whenever Im driving, in either my car or truck, I do pay close attention to the instruments on the dashboard. Don't these airliners have indicators telling pilots such information? If so, these pilots obviously pay no attention to the instruments on board
There has to be some warning system for this kind of issue you would think built into the planes warning system with the amount of sensors on the plane
Why'd you specifically mention their gender at the start? I haven't seen you do this with all male flight crews. Are all-male flight crews also implicitly to blame because of their maleness (e.g. Delta 1141, all-male flight crew talking inappropriately about the dating habits of the female flight attendants?) or are we just blaming the women? Check your biases, please!
@skullsaint Because it makes the male pilots who forget to lower their gear when landing, causing severe damage to the plane, injuring and killing hundreds of passengers while still keeping their jobs, feel better about themselves.
Wow, so the landing gear did not rip off? Either that gear is super strong, or they got lucky. Man if I did that in a jet fighter in War Thunder, my gear would have ripped off a long time ago.
One more reason to not got to India, never fly Air India, and more. Incredible lack of training, experience, aptitude for pilot skills, and finally, situational awareness to never question the reduced performance of the A/C or do a fuel remaining check at a much earlier time. I am a former US Navy pilot and flight instructor. I have a strong sense that these two should never been accepted for pilot training for an airline.
Naw...India is a country that shouldn't be missed. Complete sensory overload. I took a few domestic flights there, with my eyes wide open about the inherent risks. I can't wait to go back.
The "flaps up" after the "positive rate" call was bad enough, but the PM actually raising the flaps in a low altitude, low airspeed nose high attitude takes the cake! Then failing to do an after takeoff checklist...WOW! That's it...just WOW!
I've got to believe that when two female pilots realize that they'll be flying with another female... Their whole mindset changes.. From being on guard to loosen up quite a bit... Now they can really discuss all the topics they're interested in and that too non stop. Generally speaking, history has shown that when both the pilots know each well and are very comfortable with each other, flight safety can break down.
I hope she does not see it and just reaches over and move gear lever UP. She will tear the gear doors off. Oh well, what the heck, she does not need them anyway. Lol
They kept hearing a warning voice. It was in English. One of them said, "What is it saying," not in English. I think at least one passenger asked the stewardess why the wheels were still down. She said, "Not my job."
I mean, telemetry to help distracted pilots seems so easy to implement.. And it would allow for a backup mesure to avoid these events from happening at all. And instead of suspension, turn these events to call for attention if they have to be reminded of such a thing.

Passengers must have prayed hard when they realised
You do realise that the majority of pilot errors and accidents are with non Indian male pilots.
Putting two female pilots in the plane is extremely dangerous level of adventure this company tried to achieve.
Wonder if they flew commando that day, too.
🤣🤣😂🥵🥵
'Pilots are also surprised why and how the cabin crew or passengers did not complain of noise and vibrations associated with flying at lower altitudes' 😆 you can't count on those passengers!
How do they not notice the noise?? Also, not being able to accelerate past 230 should have at least caused a checklist…
Why will I never fly on an Indian Airlines? Yeah. This would do it
AI is well known for hiring just any pilot from anywhere, with just a few hours experience in flying on a particular airframe . . .
Nice vid ❤❤❤
Thank you come again
The A320 doesn't have an alarm telling pilots the gear is down if the plane is above a certain altitude ?
Apparently not. Just the panel lights.
I think yes if it is above a certain operational speed .@@MPCFlights
@@MPCFlights no, nobody thought somebody could be THAT idiot to do that
What is the VERY FIRST THING you do in a complex airplane after Positive Rate of Climb is established ? GEAR UP !!!!!!
It’s been 20 years since l was a AB 320 captain, but isn’t there a configuration horn with the flaps up and gear down?
I don't think so with a high power setting, which fooled the computer. When they throttled back in the approach the gear was already down...
@@TheMaximac That’s right. Now l remember. Thanks
Dismissed? Rightly so. If it had been something they'd missed that could cause a crash directly, I'm afraid it might be a far worse incident.
That could cause a crash directly aircraft are not meant to fly at high-speed with gear down. It could cause some form of structural failure, but certainly could run out of fuel and it could cause controllability issues Had They run into bad weather and exceeded the safe speed.
"you mean the gear has been down the entire flight?"
cue kamala Harris cackle
Didn’t you guys wear out “the cackle” or was it the “scream” BS with Hillary Clinton in 2016?
@superbmediacontentcreator cue kamala cackle..while biden stares into lala land
This is about as stupid a comment that has ever been posted on the internet.
Trust a probable MAGA to introduce an irrelevant detail into a conversation. They never seem to have anything sensible to say.
Surprised that a passenger didn’t say something to a flight attendant about it…
The error has definitely cost the airline a lot of money. Was it recovered from these two, from their end of service pay?
So, no after take off checklist or any other situational awareness raising attention to the "three green" - This is really odd. How did this crew manage to fly in the first place? Or were they so fatigued?
There’s no backup system or alarms for common sense!
Both of these pilots were awarded with two range rovers from the factories
at least both the clowns knew they need fuel to stay in the air.
My car has an audio alarm in addition to lights for an open door.
Seatbelts unlatched too.
No flashing warning light or warning sound when the gear is down in mid-flight?
There has to be some warning system for this kind of issue you would think built into the planes warning system with the amount of sensors on the plane
Why'd you specifically mention their gender at the start? I haven't seen you do this with all male flight crews. Are all-male flight crews also implicitly to blame because of their maleness (e.g. Delta 1141, all-male flight crew talking inappropriately about the dating habits of the female flight attendants?) or are we just blaming the women? Check your biases, please!
Somebody got triggered. Now go to your safe space.
Thank heavens
The excess fuel consumption, pollution, stress upon the engines and the landing gear mounts is...😖
One more reason to not got to India, never fly Air India, and more.
That's it...just WOW!
this is so bizarre
They both were on their periods
You just had to, didn't you? Lol lol lol.
How do you know they knew each other well? The fact that both were female does not guarantee that.
2:34 Why does this plane have a US registration (looks like it might be a Delta bird)?
Was there not an Ecam message? I thought the yellow or red alerts can be removed
I hope she does not see it and just reaches over and move gear lever UP. She will tear the gear doors off. Oh well, what the heck, she does not need them anyway. Lol
There are TWO obvious problems with this flight: A Woman in the Left Seat…and a Woman in the Right Seat.
HAD to be "that time of the month", maybe?
third problem: both Indians
Maybe this, too, should be automated by speed/ altitude.
How do you forget to retract the landing gear? Isn't that done right after takeoff?
They kept hearing a warning voice. It was in English. One of them said, "What is it saying," not in English.
I think at least one passenger asked the stewardess why the wheels were still down. She said, "Not my job."
Male pilots are named, why not the females?
Oh my goodness.
But I've always been told that Women are exceptional at multi-tasking!
They are . . . when being closely directed by their husbands.
Wait a minute ! ?, no alarms "?" . I mean, despite the not noticing by the pilots..
I mean, telemetry to help distracted pilots seems so easy to implement.. And it would allow for a backup mesure to avoid these events from happening at all. And instead of suspension, turn these events to call for attention if they have to be reminded of such a thing.
Are they working as inspectors for Boeing now?
Incredible...
I also blame the Airbus technology. There should be a alarm when the gears are still down.
In the good old days of pilots being able to use their hands and feet to fly, you could feel a $ recognise the drag in your backside.
Airlines in India hire U if the interviewer knows your father, uncle or 3rd cousin.
