This video tells me how vital a country's culture is in forming new soldiers. Love Singapore and its people though! Half Singaporean myself.
Hi Trey. So what's the other half? Tell me it's Olympian and we'll have a DemiGod :-D
Just kiddin....
Haha! No, just it's just American (European mixes I don't know)
But still have to serve NS, no?
No, I'm American citizen. I'm currently in an officer program for the United States Army.
You signed on? For which service?
When the guy said I was a shooter I school he’s lucky he doesn’t live where I’m from because that would raise some alarms
I know what you mean...
keith lee I’m from Saipan which is a United States commonwealth located in the western Pacific off the coast of Asia in Micronesia
keith lee tbh bro it’s been a year I can’t remember what I wrote that comment for 😂 I guess bcoz in the US people are ultra sensitive to a lot of things
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks?
i think I like this sar-21 rifle. looks very comfortable to shoot from this video
Mp-40 more fun
great memories shooting:) and the long hours waiting for the night shoot~~~
why was this so embarrassing to watch
My rifle jam when I was shooting in the prone position so I missed my shot
@mllcg it depends on how you treat the weapon. if you clean and oil it properly, it should fire well. Same for M16. these guys are recruits, so maybe they not so good with the basics yet. don't think it's a SAR21 problem.
I missed 1 round and I am not a sharpshooter in my heart...
In a real war, I don't think I will have the time to prone comfortably, wall my trigger slowly and fire at the target spending 4 sec. Split sec waste of time is enough to get me killed.
At a 100m range, we are squeezing a trigger like we are a sniper aiming from 600 to 800m range...
What we practice in NS is to wall a trigger, squeeze the trigger, release it fully and wait 2 second for next target to appear. Not wrong.
However, we should practice fast shooting. firing 2 rounds continuously within a sec on a target. This can let the soldier practice how to fire 2nd shot accurately with recoil.
train their shooting skill to know where their bullets will land. If not, any parts is good enough to bring enemy down from battle.
Not many people can bear pain from 1 round and stand up to continue firing. not to mention 2 rounds.
In addition, we should also practice no scope shooting... if our scope is down, most people cant shoot well without practicing it before.
I am not sure if everyone will go through this but I went through simulated section firing where a section takes up defensive position to defend against an invading force. No live rounds but you still get simulated recoil. It is still pretty intense.
Dei this one BMT don’t talk until like that
@@frostbitepokin9520 im not making fun of them but just pointing out even nsmen also aim slowly and waste 4 sec just to bring down 1 or 2 targets. Their shooting score might show 100%, but how many of us can aim well without the 4 sec and comfortable position?
@@jk35260 you mean firing blanks at 2 enemy instructor?
@@oonweijie3487 No computer simulation
when i was serving ns , the rifle was still m 16. i was not nervous but respectful of the rilfe.safety on , never point it at anyone.clear arms always eye ball the chamber.
Company best shot 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
If you want further informal trainings - go either Thailand or Indonesia.
They have a wide array of things you can practice legally with instructors to boot.
All are professionals and experts in their own fields , some are even RANGERS.
@ronkx no. the malay guy's wearing calvin klein and the other guy's wearing armani or something
This video was awesome !!!
Range during basic training in 1980s-90s was classic with the M16 and CTSS with 300m and yes the butt party too.
Yes!
🙋♂️
the admire the best section’s determination. you need to always aim for the best .
i managed to do Night shoot with SAR21 during my final reservist, its definitely much better then m16, it cool that now they have digitalize the scoring part,
SAR-21 is easier to use than the M16S1. But I must say, the M16s in Singapore weren't so good. It kept double-feeding. I had my NS in Singapore before going back to the Philippines and enrolling in the Philippine Military Academy to become a pilot(Air Force was another option for flying school). I was given an Elisco-made M16A1 which shot better both the M16S1 and the SAR-21. But when we were assigned to different area for patrol as part of our curriculum, they took back the M16A1 and gave us a Remington R4 which was very similar to the Colt M4A1. Reliability was very good, it still fired after we crossed the Liguasan Marsh. During that time, it was months after the Maguindanao Massacre and the Mangudadatu-Ampatuan family conflict was ongoing. I had to fire the weapon a lot. It was really accurate but remembering the SAR-21GL that I used back in Singapore, the SAR was definitely easier to use. But if I had to fight with either one, I'd choose an M4. :) But, I really wanted to try an Ultimax 100 though.
dud wtf how do u dislike this im indonesian and i love both sinapore and indonesia
m16 still rocks.
@KenMcGormick @RidRave An M16 can be used both left and right handed. A deflector can be attached to the ejection port to deflect the shells. But a SAR-21 cannot be used left handed. The SAR-21 is designed with protection on the left side to protect the firer in the event of a chamber explosion. To use the rifle left handed would itself be a safety violation.
In short, SAR-21, right hand only.
IA IA IA.. NABEI CB!! IA AGAIN!! HAHA!! memories siaaaa...
If only Malaysia's National Service was like this. Surely, more teens would be jumping to go for it because it's legit military work. I know I would be. (:
SG will go back to Malaysia incase just so u know so u can prep chicken rice
I did want to go and try it myself
most units are engaging targets from mid to long range, thus there is no need for a carbine-like weapons as it would not be able to engage targets at longer ranges and there is also no need for a sidearm as a typical infantry man will be equipped with 6 STAGNAG magazines (i.e. 6 x 30 rounds of 5.56x45mm ammo)
it is also impractical for sidearms to be deployed as most infantry units are not handling urban ops (although most infantrymen are trained in the course of NS)
so fun
the SAR 21 is like the copy of TAR 21 design and created by tarvor
WOOO ONE MORE YEAR !
@thatotherthinker aka Dud. Negligent discharge commonly refers to when a soldier accidentally or carelessly discharges his firearm. It is an offence and the person can be charged.
@varkitechno Hardly. Majority of soldiers are right handed so it's quite expensive for special orders of left handed weapons. That's why left handers are trained to fire on the right hand.
KNN bring rifle to bunk and clean? Being too nice to them already...
Erm why does the SAR-21 jam so much?
noelchan127 probably why other similar guns jam
noelchan127 ....many guns jam. Normal. The ammo is quite often the cause.
Dirty ammo. But personally, as a Filipino who served NS in Singapore and had ROTC in the Philippines, I must say the SAR-21 jams more often than the M16A1.
noelchan127 the person probably did not maintain the rifle properly
waa live range, i had to reshoot 4 times to finally pass. Night shooting was little easier for me since can use laser
Do the 550 meter full range shots.
100 meter, 50 meter is close range street combat.
Suggest non fogging glasses 🥂
🫣👮♂️
Why is the pug rifle keeps on jamming.
Bad quality control at Chartered industry.
This is no laughing matter during combat.
Mindef, study this matter and report back in next video.

@hahahalolx89 Well, they definitely would get some practice before the live-firing during the simulated MIT training. But yes, they are already tested on their first live-firing.
The difference between M4 and SAR-21 is the full sized barrel that the bullpup design can handle while still maintaining a shorter overall length
Velocity and Accuracy is kind of related to barrel length... the shorter it is
the less it is for both of them...
I agree with you for most of the parts, but um Chye Whatt Seng n Hock Ann sports are selling air rifle only :)
one question, are the recruits allowed to use the rifle sling to aid them in stabling the weapon during live firing?
@Kamakazi025 It's easy because it's done during basic training. When they are posted to their units, the range will be a whole new ball game. Pops, fire movement, the running, stopping, changing of position, jumping in and getting out of fox holes... Now I'm too old for that...
Don't just think your holding a "WEAPON" that could take someone's life.... Rather think your holding a "WEAPON" THAT PROTECT SOMEONE'S LIFE....
@killer00630 both weapons systems were developed separately. Even if they did copy each other it does not make a difference because the accuracy of the gun depends on the shooter.
For sar21 how many points for Marksmanship? For spf m4 is 22 points
Singapore has national service I think. Good idea.
What if like 10 people all shot a perfect score? Who will be the Company best?
50m and 100m only? I think the distances in title are wrong.
What has happened? So many wearing specs? Our education system has made our boys this way!
Myopia is genetic, it has nothing to do with studying or watching tv or whatever.... its purely a physical event based on eyeball length and light ray focal length...
@@foodmore Not in Singapore..too many kids aged below 10 are wearing spectacles. PC, tabs, iPads, phones.....then when they grow up, this is what we get. Facts are facts.. ask the GEN X, Y.
@@sabrecruz6721 No man, this video is made in 2010. Many NSMen are seen with spectacles since 2000s. That's before smartphone and tablets...
@@sabrecruz6721 Facts are facts? Where are you getting your facts from? Just by listening to old wives tales?
Eyesight is determined by eyeball length and the area where light rays converge on the retina. If it works properly, you don’t need specs. How the heck does using an iPad change your eyeball length? Don’t blindly believe old wives tales when science and physics facts are out there.
I bet you believe if u jump u will grow taller.
There is actually a shooting range in singapore. Its called the singapore gun club at 990 old chua chu kang road. You should go there sometime you dont even need to be citizen or PR to go. Also age limit is 12 and you can shoot a semi auto m4. Also no gun shops in singapore? have you heard of chye watt seng at golden mile shopping center and hock ann sports? those are gun shops in singapore. So I think I KNOW what im talking about. And Yes there are 3,000 registered gun owners in singapore .
@noelchan127 - because the recruits never maintain their weapons properly. it's not just SAR21. any weapon also the same. @wheelong has got damn good advice on the jams.
@optimisticoccupant I think it's because they got no bayonets so no point, and firing from the hips is still strong discouraged. (Or they don't want to show the cluster**** that is firing from the hips?)
@babyblue75 its daryl la, not douglas. haha. douglas was the friend who told him that reshoot cant be marksman
@deslim27 Nope, for BMT is only that distance now. At unit or command schools then they would to 300m.
try shoting a m16 instead of sar21
Ya man!!!!!!
I have a question, they jam that frequently is it because they didn't maintain it well or it's the rifle's problem..?
Ooook, I don't quite see how you can feel the pressure of combat simply by hearing a rifle being fired/firing a rifle. I am regularly near guns with calibres measure inches, not milimetres, so I guess I might be suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder soon then.
Anyway jokes aside, by and large the soldiers featured in this series are recruits, between the ages of 17 - 20. This is basic military training, so they do appear a little raw :) With new soldiers, firearm safety is always a concern
What happened to trigger pressure? They're just snapping their triggers!
I still remember my service days live range , a couple of times , we would purposely fail and go shoot again and again and again . . . and we had a huge load of fun and it was something you wont be able to do so again.
Air Rifle ? Boy - you sippin on whack or sumthing ? Thats different from live range. A mate of mine got his foot stuck in a hole and he almost literally laughed whilst he carried on and we all were serious but him. Those were the days.
Fogging could be a Big problem for our boys wearing spectacles when in the field.
wah their earplugs so stylo now siah!!
@wheelong i got a marksman score for IMT but if an IA occurs, i frankly do not know what to do lol.. i only marginally passed my TH test :/
thanks for the tips veteran.. my company emphasized the importance of oiling the rifle each time we return the arms, so it shouldn't be a problem i think.. god bless you
Is it possible to use an object eg. tissue paper to cover the left eye when shooting? Cus i got right lazy eye and a left hander so not use to close my right eye.
Glasses improved the eyesight
Too many of them
Aww man.. thanks for info
Was Daryl firing left handed at 3:52???
Im a lefty and worried wether sar21 can left hand shoot cos i heard that sar21 is right hand only??
it should have been his right.
THEM SAR 21 IS A BULLPUP THAT MEANS THE MAGIC HAPPENS BEHIND
Hmm... i'm a sharpshooter in my current reservist unit despite i'm wearing spectacles, and I know nothing but watching youtube and fixing computers. Got my marksmanship in my weapon familiarization test on last training (24/24). =P
own time own target, CARRY ON!!
I got 30/32 at mmrc. Score sheet still with me!
i 32/32 brother before going NS, i secondary 3 got live firing for NCC we go pasir laba camp and shoot like you guys, now im 18 and serving ns
With that scope.... i am not impressed.
ENCE Solezera Lol ok
Come back when you hit a perfect score with just iron sights like the good old days
@@encesolezera506 weird flex but ok
Why have a lot of other countries started using transparent magazines, while the US does not? Is the only advantage of trans mags to see how many rounds are left in your spare mags? I assume they are also more expensive which would be another reason we don't use them.
Wait a min... This is their first time doing live-firing and its already testing them to be Marksman and best shooter?? Don't they get more live-firing practice before such test happen?
You would think..
@LOLlipopHQ actually 1/4breath out.3/4 to breathe out and shift aim
@noelchan127
Actually it all boils down to basic and proper maintenance of any give weapon , be it your bayonet , rifle , etc etc etc . So far , i have not had any troubles or problems using the sar21 and i find that it is almost the same with the older M16 rifles.
But generally - M16 rifles , tend to clog-up more frequently than a SAR21 rifle.
You can search on youtube for the HISTORY OF SAR21.
@jethrotay:Tis is singapore armed forces(SAF)
@myfunkychannel dude, every able bodied male in singapore does military. screw spectacles, they're not important.
@zhiheng2005 Very single weapons has their faults. SAR is still not really combat tested, as in full contacts and long run conflicts. Usually, it's the operator of the weapon whom is causing the weapon to malfunction. No matter what weapons are deployed, if the operator doesn't take care of the weapon, don't follow operation procedures and mistreat the weapon, the best will not work for him/her.
i think they are showing the BTP and not the advance shooting ones so there's no 300m run down shoot
er....what do you mean to have a marksman standard? to be able to qualify for sniper?
Nope. It's just the bullet fail to escape from the chamber. It's just like using a pencil and write it will occasionally break as the pencil lead is not manufactured properly.
which episode will have the unarm combat training? I'm looking forward to that training.
they ALSO are trained to use their right hand all the way...
1st night at the range - came back at 2am, back at it at 6am in the morning again.
3rd night at the range - IA firers watch your front! *BANG* *tracer flying into the sky... coming back down slowly...* "Wah, that guy sure kena sai liao. Sign extra for the rest of BMT for sure one."
All using M16s.
The range was full of dead frogs, bats and lizards afterwards. All full of holes. Hahaha...
Hi, may I know around how many percent get marksman for live firing? As in how many percent of the shooters
@visualskyman may I ask how many reservists a soldier must do?until what age?
I wasn't worried at all. I prepared before. xD
If you are in the battle field you cannot feel the hot you are saying bro... The most important is to have a accurate rifle..anyway always remember , pistol and rifle are only an instrument..YOU ARE THE WEAPON! Hoorah?
@babyblue75 hey, its THAT competitive at BMT, after it is leadership batch and surprisingly quite a large number of people are quite on about becoming officers or specs, for an equally large variety of reasons too.
Btw those guns probably kena (ab)used so many times by so many batches of recruits, most of whom don't quite understand how the SAR21 works (the first time I used it, I never oil the piston, then IA like crazy also).
Although the sar-21 is taught in the army to be fired round by round(i.e. semi-auto), treating the sar-21 as a FN FAL in actual war would be quite stupid. Unless the soldier's intention is to get himself or his team-mates killed, one should use the SAR-21 as a assault rifle, not a sniper rifle. As long as the soldiers don't spray bullets all over the damn place like rambo, I'm sure it'll be all right
hopefully the sar21A will jam less often.
It looks like nee soon camp right behind is IMT if i m right
How to shoot if i left handed?
@Jusor1234
haha, maybe. But it was mostly the gas regulator that had to be adjusted.
During my reservist, I suddenly found myself in a situation where the target went blur when I look through the recticle on my M16. Yet when I moved away from my gun, I could see the target. Damn jialet because no matter how I reshoot also fail.
Later I realise it was because I am also long sighted.
The target we are shooting is more like training our muscle memory than shooting skill.
4 seconds to shoot then wait for 1-2 seconds for the 2 targets to appear again.
We know exactly where and when the target will appear and was aiming at that area. In reality, we won't know where our enemies will show up.
If we are not trained to do an immediate shooting, we will get killed first.
It is more important to train our immediate reaction to shoot than immediate action on stuck ammo.
If we can train our shooting skill on moving target that comes in different size, speed and location, our accuracy will definitely improve over time.
when doing combat reload, we will have to fire the last round in the rifle chamber before loading new magazine. It is not wrong, but we should also train to reload when when there is last round in the chamber. This will save time from cocking the weapon. It also has an advantage if there is any enemy appear suddenly, you can fire it while reloading and not after the reload only.
God Damn, theyre having a lot of stoppages.
what is de starting song?! i love de rhythm and de guitar strum.. do u have chords?
Respond to this video... (continued)... but is doesn't really mean shooting better all the time. Combat zero seems like the only way I can hit all the targets. Oh, at least it has lesser moving parts. And under the hot sun, the weapon don't really heat up that fast, unlike M16, super hot after a long day under the sun!
@SaShiMe hi just like to correct you. All weapon no matter how well maintained, will IA, just that a well maintained weapon will have a reduce tendency to IA. Even special forces as everyone would expects them to maintain their weapon to always combat ready, they also prepare for IA situation.
wait..they are shooting 100m with a scope?!?
@Blogdub It's not broken English it's just a different version of it :)
wah.. joe poon.. last time my sispec instructor
no chye watt seng has guns but they dont show to normal people who walk in. You actually have to ask to see the guns and u show your permit
@LOLlipopHQ Useful for a sniper. Less movement, Less shaky.
does the SAR21 really suck to the extent of 8 IAs?
How Many Days must we endure in bmt?
I heard my cousin said they will provide eye-patches and about the left hander I'm sorry you must you right hand for SAR-21.
