3X Horsepower & Massive Burnouts!! | Indy 500 Go Kart Engine Swap

  • We finish our vintage Crue Cut Indy 500 go kart restoration and install a lightly modified Predator 212cc engine. Equipped with a deluxe performance kit, or stage 1 kit, the Predator 212 makes about 9 horsepower, making it three times more powerful than the original 3 horsepower Tecumseh engine. This go kart is still one wheel drive, so massive burnouts ensue. It's a really fun go kart, the modified predator 212 make the kart fast, but not scary or uncontrollable.

This thing would be on FIRE if it had:
    - tubular chassis
    - hydraulic brakes
    - 20HP 212
    - racing wheels and tires
    - springer front end
    - live axle
    - and overnight parts from Japan

We have a 1973 Chevy Corvette Go-Kart built by GM in Janesville Wisconsin where my grandpa use to work before he retired in 2000. Everyone at GM was put in a raffle to win the Corvette, it’s a fiberglass body, solid tube frame, and the color is Orange. Looks exactly like a real Corvette. I believe only one was built to my knowledge. I can’t forget it has a Briggs motor, are tires have the same exact tread pattern as yours and our rear tires are worn down so bad that the center of the tires has no tread. They are worn down like drag radial tires which is a good thing in the early morning when there’s a dew on the ground you can drift around our pine trees lol.

The sales brochure thing was not boring whatsoever! It was actually an extra thrill to go with the whole Nostalgia of it all. I came across and now own a 1946 H Whizzer Motor and bought via online early sales brochures and manuals. They definitely a treat to add extra icing on the cake!

I understand wanting to go nostalgic with it but that motor does look good in there too. Keep up the good work guys

Very glad this kart is getting a vintage engine. Maybe do a 2 speed clutch setup like you found at the build off challenge. Build a Briggs for it and get the Briggs to rev if you can!

Keep the history! Most interesting part of the vid. Funnest part was epic burnout. Haven't seen that done since i watched the contests at Sturgis. Foot on front tire was EXCELLENT! Nice work boys! Removing governors only cost you "a few rod filures" huh? It's all good... as long as u have $$$. The engines are not cheap

Hey guys. I wanted to take a minute to say thank you for your channel. I have learned a ton from you guys. I am getting back into dirt kart racing and I am going to be running a 212 built of course. I am definitely learning a ton as I go but I have definitely picked up a ton of great information from you guys. Thank you again and I have to say your channel is a lot of fun to watch
