      Atom Azersky My Whirlpool washer and dryer are 32 years old! They have never given me a problem. (Now that I said it, they will probably break down.) Didn’t know about a filter, I’m not gonna touch it now, but I will run the baking soda and vinegar through. I looked at new machines a couple of years ago because I kept thinking they would be breaking down any minute. When I said to the salesman I’ve had the machines for 30 years, he said well, these new ones won’t last anywhere near that long!

    Old vid, but something important that you missed: On most front-loaders like that Samsung, grunge can build up on the panel above the dispenser trays. When you pull the tray out to clean it, be sure to look up on the inside of the opening for mold and/or grunge. That's where the water comes into the trays, and if it's grungy, it can add grunge to your clothes, and can plug up the valves, preventing the detergent, etc. from being properly dispensed. A wet toothbrush is usually the solution.

Ran into a video that was so incredibly done, step by step, with pictures. I'm an old lady, the pics helped. Now I have a routine for cleaning and I do use the Afresh tablets and wipes. These are such great washers and. On the storage pedestals, perfect for older women and even young children learning to do laundry.

    I’ve watched several TH-cam videos on how to clean your washer. But the one ingredient that not one person has mentioned is Essential oils. Particularly “Lavender” oil. I am def going to try this today. I honestly didn’t realize for 1 you need to clean your washer. I just assumed since I’m always putting soap, Clorox bleach, vinegar, and baking soda oh and can’t forget clean water that the washer would be clean. For 2 I hadn’t even snapped to opening the door when not being used so the washer airs out and doesn’t create mold. Great advice! Thank you 😊

    Thanks for the video. I have a 4 year old whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer and have used it for two years and have never cleaned it. After watching several videos on the subject, I was prepared for a long and difficult cleaning time, using rubber gloves, etc. etc. That seemed like overkill so I followed your instructions by cleaning the dispenser tray and wiping under the rubber seal. I chose to use disinfecting wipes to clean out any gunk and used them to wipe down the drum. To my surprise, there was hardly anything except hair under the seal, no mold or anything. Then I did the cycle with the baking soda mix as you suggested, and wham, clean and disinfected inside of the washer and it was simple, simple.

      I leave mine open too and still have odors. It's from sitting water in the door seal which causes mold. Plus I have teens who wash their own laundry and pretty much rarely check pockets so there is always debris in the seal on the bottom of the lid where it drains...

    Put the vinegar inside the detergent dispenser instead. Reason for it will dispense it when it’s about to wash. Also there’s a lot of detergent suds in the detergent dispenser. That can cause clogs. Since most consumers always overfill the washer with detergent. You cannot use more that 2 tablespoons of detergent per cycle. The third reason is the drain pump automatically comes on in the beginning of any load to sense and balance the clothes before it starts. So if you’re adding vinegar at the beginning 80% of it go right out

    • @georgeverde5550
      @georgeverde5550 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Also drain pump comes on often during loads especially if you have extra rinse option on. I would start by putting some on the dispenser. After it dispenses in the middle of the cycle I would open it up and put some more inside of it. And continue the cycle

      One more thing. 90% of customers don’t ever clean the rubber bellow. That’s the place where the most mold and bacteria will be. Wipe it down with bleach before the rest of the Steps to really clean the washer.

      Hi Meriem! Thanks for watching!
      I've never tried combining the vinegar and baking soda, and I would advise against that as you never know what kind of chemical reactions you might get.
      You can however put vinegar in the dispenser tray (fill it up completely), run the full hot cycle. Then, add the baking soda directly in the washer like in the video and run another cycle.
