    Thanks for that Whirly Bloke. I like LEDs on my quads. I generally take off and land by line of sight. LEDs add to the fun. Functional too when you can see which direction the quad is going by the LED pattern. That Speedy Bee 35 is the next quad I intend to build too. Thanks again for the quality content. Happy flying amigo. 🍻

    I just finished my Bee35 build and added this cool LED strip! Easy setup. I too just removed the yellow wire and soldered up power and ground. Easy to install and will be fun at night.

      @WhirlyBloke I've not played with the LED settings in betaflight, but at some point I will investigate rewiring, as I'd like to have some different settings on a switch for in flight changes.

      @@BentRim I mentioned this in another comment but I'll add it here too. The Meteor LEDs can't be controlled from Betaflight. The TX and RX pads allow the Meteor to act as an external Bluetooth module so you can use the Speedybee app to control many Betaflight parameters (but not the Meteor LEDs unfortunately).
      Betaflight used to only allow 32 LEDs but they recently increased this to 64 LEDs. The Meteor has too many LEDs (126) and the LEDs use the wrong protocol in order for Betaflight to control them.
      Edit: While you can't use the normal Betaflight LED control with the Meteor, you can control which pattern is selected using your transmitter if you setup your flight controller correctly. See the post by @p_fpv for information about how to do this.

    Another nice feature that I found out by chance when I mounted the Meteor on my BetaFPV Pavo20 is (because there is already a plug with +/- and a third line on a TX pad by default and configured PinIO function), if you solder that yellow cable which is soldered to the Meteor chip on the boot pad by default, e.g. solder to an RX or TX pad on the FC and then operate the whole thing using PinIO via a button on the remote control, then you can also switch through the different lighting modes without pressing the hardware button on the chip or changing it via the app.. like that You can also change the modes during the flight... or if you hold down the button on the remote control for a few moments you can also switch it on and off! ;-) I already wrote this to Speedybee and they didn't even know about this feature! ;-)

      I want to add my thanks for telling us about the PinIO option.
      In case you're interested, the LED used in the Meteor use the LPD1886 protocol rather than the more common WS2812B protocol.
      Based on my explorations, I'm pretty sure the Meteor includes 126 of these LPD1886 LEDs in the strand.

      Good question. I have no idea cos I've only got one set. Let me know if you find out.

    • @ddegn
      @ddegn หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm pretty sure you could only control one at a time. You'd have to exit from one set (of LEDs) and then set (as in change the settings) the second set (of LEDs).
      Edit: Added some clarification. I used the word "set" too many times.
