    Hey, what are your thoughts on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition)?
    Do you watch anime? If yes, which one is your most favorite?

    • @Machuw

      I used to really hate BvS, but years later I gave the Ultimate edition a shot and I LOVE it. Fleshes out the characters a lot more, feels so incredibly human and epic! I still don't really like the third act with Doomsday cuz it feels a little shoe-horned in there, but all in all I really liked the movie. I'll give it an 8/10 :))
      I've never really been much of an anime guy but I've been trying to get into it recently! Right now, I'm watching the OG Cowboy Bebop and I'm loving it!

    my crops are watered, my skin is clear, my grades are up, matt murdock is back in the mcu. dd fans rise up
    when I was three, my favorite movie was the first spider-man movie because my parents wanted to keep me quiet on a plane ride and spider-man was the movie that was playing. it then became the movie that I rewatched over and over again, because that's how three-year-olds operate. but spider-man is rated pg-13 for a reason, and i'm pretty sure the green goblin was the monster in my closet for a good while. if nwh came out when I was three, THIS goblin would have me sleeping in my parents' room for weeks. I LOVE that they made the choice to get rid of the Goblin's mask early on, probably my favorite decision regarding the villains tbh. The lack of the goblin mask creates so much tension regarding if it's Norman or the Goblin in control, and honestly, considering that the Green Goblin is played by an actor with the most Goblin-like face in Hollywood (no offense Willem), I really don't know why he wore the mask so much in the first spidey movie.
    I like how you can (generally) tell the difference between pre-MCU spidey fans and post-MCU spidey fans by how much they like to watch Peter suffer. my enjoyment of a Peter Parker portrayal is inversely correlated with how much in shambles Peter's life is, so by the end of this movie I was having a blast.
    I definitely agree with your gripes on Aunt May. I really liked her presence in Homecoming, and while I DO think this movie makes Far From Home better in retrospect, I think her death wouldn't been much more impactful if she had more scenes in ffh. I think it was browntable who made a video featuring an animated scene of May confronting Peter about Spider-Man after the final reveal and Homecoming, and I think the inclusion of a scene like that would've made the entire trilogy better. My favorite Aunt May has to be the Amazing Spider-Man Aunt May, and more personable scenes between MCU Peter and May like there in the Amazing movies would've gone a long way.
    Speaking of the Amazing movies, I don't think having Garfield as your favorite Spider-Man is quite a hot take anymore. There's been a massive Garfield renaissance and a lot of cries for an Amazing Spider-Man 3 and honestly I'm living for it.
    I was more than a bit iffy on John Watts directing the Fantastic Four movies before NWH, but now I'm pretty excited for it even if he wasn't my first choice. And not that I'm not grateful for Matt in this movie, I am, but I'm like the mouse from if you give a mouse a cookie. The place Peter is in right now is so perfect for a future Daredevil/Spider-Man team-up and I will now be clamoring for that like the menace I am.

      I think Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin universally terrifed us all as kids because I was the exact same way lol. And right?? I love that they removed his mask in NWH. Willem Dafoe is such a great actor so it was great seeing him actually emote to make the Goblin more terrifying.
      And yeah idk, I guess it's just a trademark for more die-hard Spidey fans, in that we need to see him suffer HAHA. Like, it's kinda a necessary trait for the character imo.
      And yooo I adore Browntable's little animated scene for Homecoming. But yeah maybe not MORE scenes per say, but just make the scenes they have with each other to be emotionally impactful! Like, the scene in TASM 2 where Aunt May is going on about how she has to take nursing classes with 20 year olds just to send Peter off to college. And how she's kinda angry that Peter is constantly looking and searching for his father; which was just her fearing that she would lose him. Like I LIVE for that stuff. They didn't have a lot scenes together in TASM 2, but the one's they did have were quite memorable :)
      Honestly, as a DD fan, how can you not want them to team up in Spidey 4 haha. Would love a team up movie where they have to take down Kingpin or something. And hopefully Andrew Garfield gets to appear in other movies or even have his own solo film again. He was done really dirty, which especially sucks cause he's so perfect in the role! Loved reading your thoughts! ^

    I agree with your critiques, but on comment for the lizard (and sandman critique) I believe both those actors sadly were unable to make it for the film, and footage of them in human form is actually just different views of footage from the film they previously were in.

    I appreciate that NWH is sort of a soft reboot for MCU Peter at the end, putting him in a shitty apartment by himself and a homemade comic-style suit after five years of Ironboy Jr.
    It's refreshing and in line with the comics and other adaptations and I like it.

    Great video, bro! I’ve been waiting to see your thoughts on NWH 😂. I was so hyped for this movie because Spider-Man has always been my favorite super hero. You might kill me for this, but it is probably my favorite MCU movie even over Infinity war or Endgame JUST because I’ve only recently been into the MCU compared to how long I’ve been watching Spider-Man. The fact that this movie is even real with Dafoe, Garfield, Maguire, etc is absolutely insane to me.
    I do, however, agree with a lot of your points, especially the part about the villains not being as fleshed out as they could have been. This was mostly the case for Sandman and Lizard for me. I heard that they were unable to be there in person to shoot so it was mostly audio sent in and old clips so while understandable, their roles in the movie were still slightly disappointing. I also had a bit of a problem with Electro. I felt his personality was a lot different than what we saw in TASM 2 and it felt very out of place and almost unauthentic for me personally. But Doc Ock and Green Goblin were truly amazing. Also, Garfield is also my favorite Spidey even though his movies were probably the worst between him, Tom and Tobey.
    I think Mays death was also very, well, meh. Like obviously it means a lot and is impactful, but her character was never one that was given the opportunity to make fans care about her and she never really did anything important besides dying to change Peter or push him in any significant direction.
    Some final thoughts, Im very excited to see where the next few Spidey movies go. It’ll be very interesting to see what happens next with Peter all alone. Ive got some theories of my own and I’m sure you do, too. I’m interested in hearing what you think about the idea of TASM 3 and the direction they could take with Garfields Spidey, especially after he even mentioned in NWH being more bitter and violent. I’d love to see a darker Spidey movie. From what I hear Morbius is supposed to be in his universe so that matchup between the two could be means for a darker movie in and of itself.
    Good seeing your still out here grinding on TH-cam, my man. Hope you’re doing well.

    • @Machuw
      @Machuw  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha hey man! Good to hear from ya, and I'm glad you liked the video! :D
      And nah I respect you for liking NWH more than IW or Endgame, they're all really good movies so I understand lol. And Electro did feel a little weird huh? It's kinda like they wanted to course-correct him to be more likable even if that meant making him feel like a different character than he was in TASM 2. It's also dope that I'm not the only one that has Garfield as their favorite spidey despite the iffy movies lmaoo.
      Honestly, I'm really excited to see where they take Spidey now that he's all alone and has no other connections. As for Garfield's Spidey, I'd love to see him get TASM 3 (maybe just with diff ppl writing it tho lol), and I think he would fit really well in that Mobius/Venom universe. I think that's probably what's gonna happen bc Garfield's Spidey said he wanted to fight an alien ^^
      But yeah, hope you're doing well too man! And It was cool seeing your detailed thoughts on the movie :)

    I personally loved No Way Home.A film that is full of entertainment and fan service whilst having a focused plot and story it is wanting to tell will always has my respect.
    The thing I adore and appreciate so much about this film is how perfectly the ending concluded the trilogy and set up the college trilogy.
    The trilogy's unusal Spider-Man presentation and absence of Uncle Ben was a huge weakness of the first two films but No Way Home fully resolves these issues and makes them strengths of the ending.It was much more powerful and rather genius making an orgin trilogy which develops the character before hand and makes the journey of becoming Spider-Man much more meaningful and satisfying that what any one orgin film could.It's such a huge breathe of fresh air having a completely different take and structure to a Spider-Man orgin story.This also includes switching Uncle Ben to Aunt May as we get 3 films to learn about her and have her relationship with Peter grow and we had no certainty what would happen to her rather than having Uncle Ben who only appears for half an hour with everyone knowing exactly how it will end.

    • @Machuw
      @Machuw  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I loved that these three movies were essentially his origin story. It made it so that we genuinely wouldn't know what would happen to Peter and those around him. It was a really smart decision making Aunt May the Uncle Ben figure, and I honestly wasn't anticipating how personal the film was gonna be. Loved your thoughts and am glad you liked the movie, man!

      @@Machuw I would've also have loved it if Aunt May had much more development in the previous films but ngl I don't think May's death was planned to have such a huge impact and if it was I find it really odd how underutilised she was.
      I also disagree with you about Lizard and Doc Ock.I found the Lizard really funny in the film and I don't think adding more scenes would have majorly benefitted.Though it was incredible having Alfred Molina back as Doc Ock back I felt like he was just a punching back for jokes and didn't improve and add anything to the character from the original unlike how Goblin was majorly improved in this film.Though

      But yeah idk, Lizard was kinda funny, but he was just kinda there? And it could've been cool imo to give him a fulfilling character arc since no one really cared much for him as a villain in TASM. And yeah, Doc Ock was pretty whatever, but I don't think he needed anything too complex in the film. Def agree with your assessment there in the end tho, and I love all your points!
