@@Snowy-666 I know what you mean mate. I had my M140i for 4 years, and I had to use it to drive to work, as well as my weekend fun toy. So in that respect, it's a better car, as it is such a comfortable daily when you need it to be, and brutally fast in a straight line when you want it to be that. I'm lucky as I now have a work van, and only use my M2 as a weekend toy. I would never slag the M Lite off, it's a brilliant car. I wouldn't have kept it for 4 years if it wasn't ! But as a weekend fun toy, my OG M2 really is levels above. Yes driving it round town is hard work, the suspension is so stiff, it clunks and judders and just isn't happy. But once it gets moving, the suspension and chassis dynamics come alive, and it all starts to make sense. My tuned M140i honestly would not see which way my standard M2 went on a twisty B road mate, honestly. No matter how many mods somebody does to an M140i, it will never be an M car. The only one which comes close, is 'the Hulk' a guy in Scotland who has an M140i track car, it's modded to the max, stripped out, and it's a real weapon. But doing that, makes it useless as a daily, so there is no advantage in not buying a real M car. There are things in M cars which people don't realize, like no sound deadening, so you can hear and feel every mechanical clunk and thud the car makes, little things like that add to the whole experience, and unless you have owned an M lite and a real M car back to back, you wouldn't really know. Enjoy the M140i my friend, it's a great car.
You're telling people to buy a BMW? You didn't mention their horrible reliability, why not? These things are a money pit! Why do you think the used car lots are full of them?
There are thirty-six...Yes, I said THIRTY-SIX cameras on the A1M motorway where I live from the Metrocentre junction to the Durham turnoff... About 20 Miles of road... On the UK roads, this car has about as much use as a chocolate teapot. I agree it does indeed look "The part" but you really can't use this car to anywhere near its full potential on the UK roads. Well, you can try... But you will soon be using the bus... Your reply.....You have got to know where you can and where you can't drive this car "Hard" etc etc.... My reply...Until you get caught! (And you WILL get caught) I prefer to keep my driving licence so will stick with my 113 BHP 1.8 Litre Toyota. It can easily reach the dizzy heights of 70 MPH on a motorway 😁.
I disagree. The Audi runs a front wheel drive biased setup, with the engine mounted transversely in front of the front axle, hence the understeer when you push on in them. The only time a rwd car will fall behind is in the rain. Search for Chris Harris' review of the RS3. He'll tell you the same - most if not all fast Audis are blunt instruments, with every owner thinking that because Audi made the spectacular Group B Quattro decades ago, they're somehow driving the same car. It's nonsense. As to your point about the Audi being a faster car, the 8Y RS3 around the time of this M140i is certainly quicker off the line, but on a rolling start, which is the situation most drivers will find themselves in during a race situation, the M140 is noticeably quicker in every gear. The engine is far superior. Wards gave it engine of the year for about 5 years running. I certainly wouldn't turn down an RS3 - they're a lovely car, but your claims are wrong. Best wishes.
@@neil5242 lmfao you’ve clearly never ever drove an rs3 or raced a 140i vs the rs3. You need educating big time! 400bhp rs3 vs a 335bhp m140i on a rolling start the rs3 pulls with ease. I’ve got videos to prove to, I had a stage 2+ m140i by MG flasher and ran quarter mile times stock, stage 1 and stage 2. Loads of my pals had 2017+ Audi rs3’s and we dragy’d them both 100-200kph and the Audi was faster every time with a much stronger top end. Both tuned for tuned and stock for stock the Audi rs3 is much faster in every way possible, off the line and on a roll. The only time an m140i will win is if it races a PRE FL RS3 2012-2016 model which is 360bhp and slower. So my facts are right and yours are wrong sorry.
Also, in terms of handling, if you think an m140i handles better than an rs3 you’re clearly on drugs. A 140i is the most dangerous handling rwd car ever if you don’t add a diff and suspension mods it’s like a death trap. Most likely thing is you can’t afford an rs3 so you’ll look for the negative sides and try talk yourself out of liking it because you’ll never be able to buy 1 and settle for a cheap clapped out 1 series for £15k 🤣🤣
I can’t believe he would have one of these over a45s witch a45s is more power looks better and the interior is 100% much better then this and feels faster then this I went in my mate one and it was 480hp and to be honest it felt slow to compare my fiesta with 390hp so when Tune these they don’t feel any faster then did b4 I wasn’t impressed one bit
The reason it feels fast is because you're fiesta is right on the limits with 390hp on a FWD car I bet torque steer must be fun. 😂 For a b58 480hp is child's play the engine is not even breaking a sweat. Whenever I pull up at the lights I get cars like yours wanting to race and I just leave them in the dust and I'm then happily reminded that I'm driving the absolute beast. One of a kind they will never make cars like this again.
A45s puts out less power than a stage 1 m140 and the 2 litre is already pretty much maxed out on the Merc, also a stage 1 140 whether it feels as quick or not would walk an a45s on a roll since it's 100-200 time is over a second faster
It’s about build quality! I went in my mates 400bhp evo after I’d raced him in my stage 2 m140 and his car felt twice as fast as mine, but I gapped him! When your in a BMW it’s like sitting in your living room 😂
Wrong. Only point where a45s is faster is off the line. Rolling vs the older one it's game over and the new one is level pegging. Plus, regardless of which a45 you choose, how long is a 2 litre running over 350bhp really going to last? Plus two cylinders per exhaust. It sounds like a fart in a tin can.😂
What bill? Owned my 2017 plate since new. Never had an issue. The engine is bulletproof. As for service costs, BMW give you 30% off for cars over 4 years old. Major and minor services are now cheaper via BMW than Halfords. Do your research and stop chatting sh1t.
Must say I have owned M-lites for 5 years now and never had a scary bill, and I always have them main dealer serviced. I am not in the Netherlands so mileage may vary of course.
Why you shouldnt buy one:
Insurance.
You're telling people to buy a BMW? You didn't mention their horrible reliability, why not? These things are a money pit! Why do you think the used car lots are full of them?
M140i has the b58 and that’s one of the most reliable engines
There are thirty-six...Yes, I said THIRTY-SIX cameras on the A1M motorway where I live from the Metrocentre junction to the Durham turnoff... About 20 Miles of road...
On the UK roads, this car has about as much use as a chocolate teapot. I agree it does indeed look "The part" but you really can't use this car to anywhere near its full potential on the UK roads. Well, you can try... But you will soon be using the bus...
Your reply.....You have got to know where you can and where you can't drive this car "Hard" etc etc.... My reply...Until you get caught! (And you WILL get caught)
I prefer to keep my driving licence so will stick with my 113 BHP 1.8 Litre Toyota. It can easily reach the dizzy heights of 70 MPH on a motorway 😁.
1:41 confusing metrics there..
He tunes a gas vehicle and after several launches he wonders why didn't improve the 0-100....
I don't know... INTERCOOLER maybe?
Gear ratio is not as good as the A Class Amg

Better than carwow?
What is?
Apart from they all have had millage blockers on hence the low miles 😂
It’s a nice car, but rs3 all day long, much better build and faster car.
@@neil5242 even a stage 1 rs3 fl is faster than a stage 2 m140i 😂
Also, in terms of handling, if you think an m140i handles better than an rs3 you’re clearly on drugs.
@@Erwinbonkington1you sound like 14yr old they you speak...

@@DrivenPlus sorry not my choice I just think these looks a bit boring the rear looks ok 👌
mate you have a fiesta pipe down. lol
Everyone has an opinion mate!
@@jamielearmonth1039 I don’t have fiesta it was my old car I have amg a45s
I can’t believe he would have one of these over a45s witch a45s is more power looks better and the interior is 100% much better then this and feels faster then this I went in my mate one and it was 480hp and to be honest it felt slow to compare my fiesta with 390hp so when Tune these they don’t feel any faster then did b4 I wasn’t impressed one bit
RWD + Straight 6 engine is why. It’s a pretty simple choice for me!
It sounds like a fart in a tin can.😂
Fun car until you hit the garage and see the bmw bill, for me no bmw anymore
What bill? Owned my 2017 plate since new. Never had an issue. The engine is bulletproof. As for service costs, BMW give you 30% off for cars over 4 years old. Major and minor services are now cheaper via BMW than Halfords. Do your research and stop chatting sh1t.
@@neil5242 maybe in your country but in Holland not owning a car is already twice more expensive than in the uk same as beyinf one with your research
So the car is more unreliable because it's Dutch?😂@@whoopyNL
Must say I have owned M-lites for 5 years now and never had a scary bill, and I always have them main dealer serviced. I am not in the Netherlands so mileage may vary of course. You obviously have to factor in that you are driving a car fettled by M-Division, so parts like brake discs etc are going to cost.
@@Snowy-666 💯 never had an issue with mine.
