    Ross is an unspoken hero. He keeps the band going and is a total class act. He needs more attention. I love Neil and Steve but he and the other Steve definitely do so much and must be recognized just as much. He's the bomb on that bass man.

    Ross is the vice president of Journey as far as seniority goes.....Neal is the president! I just wish he had more input! because like it or not he's been with Journey from the beginning 1973 I believe! Ross Valory your one of my favorite bass players, your great......God Bless You!☝️😇

    Ross Valory is a real good person, rockin' those long blond locks back then 😊 I'd imagine he'd make a good neighbor coz he's a true spirit of quiet "nobility" as proven by time & his character. I'd wake up to days of jammin sounds of bass guitar if he lived next door!

    It’s the secret to longevity, but also the hardest thing: stay true to the vision of the band and check your ego at the door. These “early days” videos of various bands prove it.

    Not only are these guys talented, but they are extremely handsome too, Steve Perry of course, Greg Rolie, and especially Neil the guitarist with those boyish good looks and beautiful smile! No wonder boyfriends of the screaming female fans would get jealous of the band sometimes! Lol!

    I only 'discovered' Journey in 81 with Escape. But this is a reminder they were hard at it long before that.
    It's a shame the legacy members like Valory and Smith just keep getting fired for whatever reason. They deserve a share of Journey corporate even though they don't have a lot of writing credits.

      Word has it Valory and Smith tried to throw a coup d'etat on the band

    Even though this interview was from a long time ago, and Steve ended up firing him, (for what reason, I have no idea!) he seems like a really nice decent guy, which there aren't many left in the business these days, it seems. I wish him well.

      @@JazzyBabe56 That’s a lie. Stop spreading falsehoods..
      Perry stupidly fired Valory and Steve Smith( one of the top 5 best drummers still breathing) for so-called “musical differences”, then hired a couple scrubs to replace them for ROR.

    • @damonreynolds6775
      @damonreynolds6775 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BBaldwin The 'scrub' bassist Randy Jackson was a well known, established and respected session player more than Ross' equal. And he, not Ross, played bass on Frontiers 'After the Fall' track btw.
      I don't know about the drummer, but I'm sure he was no 'scrub' either.
      Yes Perry himself later admitted he screwed up, but that's not on the new Rhythm section, that's on the direction Perry and Cain took the music after firing the old one. They messed with the formula too much.
