  • Welcome back to a new video where I am getting to the bottom of an erratic idle, specifically on a cold start on my own personal 2010 Ford Fiesta 1.6 Litre Zetec S. I we have a look at the symptoms, possible causes and a temporary solution without needing to spend any money of parts…….for now.
This repair can be applied to many Ford Fiesta model ranges as the engine and throttle body are an identical layout just in a different cylinder capacities and specifically use the same throttle body.
PLEASE NOTE that if you wish to carry out the repair yourself you may need a diagnostic tool to re-calibrate the throttle body before a test drive otherwise you could have non start or running issues.
Don’t forget to subscribe to the channel and we have many more videos coming down the line whether it for tutorial purposes or purely entertainment.

This video is so helpful! Thanks so much for this. My 13 plate fiesta is doing exactly this and I have changed so many parts trying to figure it out. Subscribed!

Thanks for great video, I have a Fiesta zetec, , great reliable car, I will watch out for this issue , would have loved to see the Throttle relearn you mentioned , I don't have scanner, if there was no throttle positional change during the track cleaning could you get away without the relearn , what if no throttle relearn was carried out , what affect would you see.

@@stevekeen just a throttle clean around the butterfly valve didn’t have an effect on the car at all. Literally plug and play. If you clean the tracks though, that’s when I experienced a no start until I had to recalibrate the throttle body. In hindsight, I should have recorded it but if I get the opportunity to film a throttle calibration I’ll be sure to film it as an extra. That’s why I’ve suggested to have access to one just in case. This only happened when my car was 13 years old and over 120,000 odd miles. So unless your car is close to that age/mileage then I don’t think it’ll be an issue anytime soon. Thanks for getting in touch though 👍🏼
