Thanks for this, helped me fix my sister car. The switch was working intermittently, the plastic along the contact rails had covered the 'on' position. A good clean up worked a treat. Top tip don't push your screw drive down the sides of the switch, I almost broke the locking mechanism.
I tried taking my hazard switch apart a few months ago. I cleaned the contacts with an eraser, but it still wouldn't work after I bent the contacts & put it back together. I had to buy a new one for £16 😕
This video actually saved me buying a new switch! I’m actually shocked usually when I do things like this I end up with springs and plastic up my nostrils, but it was an easy fix 👍🙂 Have you ever changed the front anti roll bar bushes (not the drop links)? I’m hoping I can change mine without pissing about dropping the subframe.
Good to hear that it helped. I’ve not done the anti-roll bar bushes on one of these before, but plenty on other cars. The general tip with anti roll bars and drop links though is to either not jack the car up, or jack both sides up. That way you’re limiting the strain on the ARB and makes it easier.
thanks for the video, I used the same procedure to fix the air conditioning button - the button sometimes turned on, but mostly only for a while. The button now seems 100% functional.
Thank you. Some people in the comments say you can remove the button without opening the panel, is that true? I need to change just the hazard button because it's crackled. Considering you have to press the little tabs to release the button, is it possible to remove the hazard button without opening the panel?
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos I'm very anxious doing it because I'm bad at doing manual stuffs, would you please mind trying and to let me know whenever you have time? 🤞🏻
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos i was just going to spray paint them black! Batten out and ply board the floor with a flap for the spare wheel. Learning as i go, currently converting a transit to a campervan and applying the woodworking principles to the Shitroen 👍
I also notice on your video, as in my case too, that the light of the button is not working anymore after the change. It is the same for the AC button, even both are functional, the light is not working, any idea why?
You can also fix the switch to knock it, BUT not to hard and do it for 10 times maybe 20 or more. Studently it will work. But for how long i dont know. I think you always kan do it again. I always check it when i make service on Aygo (same)

Another good vid thanks! Tip for factory unit, you can crimp a cheap spool of speaker wire to two iso pins and pop the, in the block, reconnect and run the wire behind the dash and under the sills to the back easy peasy. Frill and hacksaw out a couple of holes the right size for the speakers. Even fitting a cheap pair of £20 pioneer coaxial from Halfords in the rear parcel shelf improves sound massively, as they give pretty decent volume increase over standard and use the boot as a bit of a bass box. Nothing earth shaking by any means, but massive improvement in loudness and range vs the two crap front ones only 👍 I used covered bullet connectors coming from each side up high, so easy to disconnect should my daughter need to remove parcel shelf at any point 👍
Yea the factory stereo has the outputs for rear speakers that can be wired in. Some of these cars even have parcel shelf speakers from factory and have them with a plug that can be disconnected easily.
I have a question hopefully you can help. The hazzard switch on my wife's C1 works fine, however the red part on the front with the triangle on has came off exposing the switch behind. Can you tell me if these just push onto clips? I've tried pushing it back on with no joy.
Fixed the corroded contact but the little finger that latches the button snapped. Balls. I guess I'll have to buy a whole new switch for the sake of a little piece of white plastic
Yeah, there’s 4 pretty strong plastic clips in places that you wouldn’t expect. Those blue inserts are prone to breaking though, so dot be too rough with it.
Great stuff, saved me £25-32 from buying a new switch. By the way, the original head unit is basically junk. Anything around £30 from Amazon will sound better and louder than that PoS. Also, to prevent future build up, I've added a thin layer of Silicone Grease at the copper contacts.
No-one going to talk about the Penis sign on the Conditioner wheel
🤣

You’re welcome, and yes you need to be careful not to damage it when taking it apart
We do appreciate the extra miles that you've been going, thanks
Does this work on Toyota Aygo without a cock on the fan dial ?
It should do, but to make sure it works draw a cock on your fan dial before attempting.
thanks for the quick response, will draw the cock tomorrow and change the switches when they arrive@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos

Thanks mate, this'll come in handy when I tackle mine! 💪
You’re welcome mate.
The hazard light switch LED doesn't flash with the hazards so yours is illuminating correctly. Keep the C1 videos coming! Love them! :-D
That’s good to know, and thanks for watching!
Your videos are always helpful for my Citroen, unfortunately I wasn't able to fix my hazard even though I'm sure its a simple fix. 🙃 Thanks as always.
Have you tried another switch?
Thanks. Just fixed mine after procrastinating for a couple of weeks after noticing it wasn't working.
Hope the vid helped

Ever figure out why the light in the button didn’t work? Just replaced mine and it’s done the same thing
It doesn’t light up/flash with the hazard lights, just comes on with the dash lights so you can see it in the dark.

It should push on as far as I can remember. Maybe it’s bent or broken as they commonly crack.
