Hii please help me. The interior of my c1 smells like burned oil or gas. I checked everything. There is no leak anywere whatsoever, but the smell keeps coming when i turn the vent on. What the hell is happeninggg
@@DABDIY i cant find anything. But when i ride for 15 minutes and pop the hood open. I get this strong burned fuel/oil smell. Its coming from the catalystic converter. Because the other locations near the motor dont smell so strong. Is it maybe better to buy a new catalystic ?
@@atoyran6584i could not see it but when i took my cat off the exhaust manifold had completely rusted apart, and I also had that smell. Need to hange it probably
Christmas Eve had to put new exhaust on my Daughters toyota aygo for the mot she lives away and was only here for 2 days same thing happened threads went on one side of the catalytic converter so had to put just a bolt and nut on it but passed the mot, will re-thread drill and tap easy to do from under the car next time she here , needs a proper bolt with spring old one will be no good hole diameter will be bigger
As I recall most all the nuts and bolts will be totally corroded into place and may well snap upon removal. This will mean stud /bolt removal tools, hardened drill bits and possibly the removal of many more parts to gain better access to retap threads. Not a nice job by any means.
Just did mine no need to take the alternator of 👍
You can do it with the alternator in place, but it certainly makes access a lot easier with it out of the way.
Здравствуйте. Какой пробег у машины? Какая причина замены катализатора?
Just wanted to ask if you remapped or chipped your Citroen C1 if so is it worth doing and how much performance do you get from it thank you
I haven’t and I probably won’t until I’ve completed the turbo build because the gains will be marginal and not worth the money.
how much did you pay for the catalyst? and where did you order?❤❤❤
I don’t recall how much, it was a while ago. I bought it from a friend as a used item, I don’t have any links for you or anything like that.

Have you checked all around the outer surface of the catalytic converter? It’s not uncommon for them to crack and leak exhaust gasses.

@atoyran6584 it might be time for a new cat, but don’t quote me on that.

Just had a new cat fitted, car turns over but will not start, any ideas??
Could be anything! Have you disturbed any earth straps or anything like that?
@DABDIY I did not do the work, but will ask the question, ty for reply.. I guess it could be a sensor issue of some kind,
@matt_corbett id definitely take it back to the garage that did the work then, it’ll be under warranty.

If you can get it to tighten up and not leak, you’re on to a winner there 👍🏻
How long does it takes to change de katalysator? From begin to end?
About an hour if all the nuts and bolts behave themselves.
@@DABDIY Is it necessary to remove the bumper radiator etc? Thanks mate
@dutchboy831 it certainly makes life easier
@dutchboy831 i would you can do it with out but its alot tighter
Is there anything you can do to stop the cat getting robbed
Not that I’m aware of. This car has the added advantage of the cat being behind the bumper, rather than under the car. That makes it harder to access.
Could you have not re-threaded the old cat?
I probably could, but that would have involved welding, drilling & tapping or helicoiling. Honestly, it’s not worth t cause I already had a spare.

Agreed. I’m under no illusion that I got lucky with this job.
Ive just done mine as my manifold on one cylinder has disintegrating bolts were gorroded but but still came out ok 👍 👌
