Hi I’d like to try this with my iron since I think I have same issue. The power light is on but the plate will not heat up. I am just confused when you cut the blue and black wires and you join them . But you said leave the red attached….but thrn later on you have removed the entire sensor? If I’m supposed to leave the red attached …how can I remove the entire sensor. I’m kind of lost.
Mine wasnt turning ON at all, the sensor completely failed.... But in my case, I had to cut and connect black and red together! Red is one of the prongs. The sensor is exactly like yours but it was wired blue, black, red instead of yours red, black, blue. Thanks for the helpful video! 👍
Did this to our iron, worked exactly as described. soldered and sleeved the two wires. Back to normal now. Just have to take care not to leave it unattended. Thanks. Should last for a while now.
Hi, I'm not sure but I recommend you first check the heater coil. Use a multimeter to check the heating coil resistant or connectivity. If it works (doesn't give Open Loop sign) this is a good news and you may bypass that sensor. The problem may also be in the thermostat that you may replace. Good luck!
Great. However, viewers should follow more on the wire locations than the colors as in my case the colors were different. Choose one central wire and the one which is at larger distance from the central wire.
Hi thanks, my iron is Tefal Ultimatw 3000 W, the sensor is a bit different, as the colours are yellow (instead of red), blue and black, if I cut the sensor and connect the blue and black wires together, what I have to do with the yellow wire then?
Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately I have a different model and the censor is stored in a different way. I gave it a go but couldn’t solve the problem. Thanks anyway.😀
Errr yeah...that didn't work 😮 cut the blue and black and soldered them together with a heat shrink sleeve and now the iron is completely dead ( same scenario as yours with the sensor and no it's not the fuse of) looks like a new iron is required 😢
Can’t thank you enough for your thorough and simple explanation! I was thinking I would need to purchase another iron. Awesome demonstration!
U r welcome

Perfect thanks 👍🏻 better for the environment to fix things rather than throw them away and buy another one!! Great job!
Ah ah right on the nail ! My wife is so happy , she thinks i am a genius ! Thank you a lot.
Did you cut the red and put a wire.nut on it? I understood blue and black cut them and put them together and the red where does it go?
Thank you, just fixed mine.
Thanks have a slightly different model but was able to figure out how to fix it based on your video.
Very useful video. It helped me. ❤
Great help, many thanks, but for me it was short out red and black. Went off wire positions from the sensor.
Worked as you demonstrated. THANK YOU!
I just try it, and it works 😎👍🏾
