I have Panasonic steam iron which was out of order so I gave it to the repair shop. he fixed the iron but unfortunately steam is not working. the repair shop worker said once the steam iron is open steam function will never work again.. is it true? it means I need to get a new one? because without steam this iron seems useless to me... or it can be mended
it is impossible that after repair the steam function cannot restored to working condition. if it is fitted properly, it must work, while fitting it needs very careful practice to fit the seals and pumps to its perfect place then it is have to work, if there is some missing or carelessness in fitting the steam components then the steam will not vaporize and sprayer can also leak you are right that the steam iron is definitely useless without steam
Hi sir...my steam iron when turned on, is tripping main breaker box RCCB. So i opened the iron box and checked everything. Coil, themostat, thermal fuse all are showing continuity. Only thing i have doubt is that the coil is showing about 60megaohm resistance to ground and it keeps changing( increasing as i keep the multimeter connected)....is this ok? What should the resistance of the heating coil to ground ideally? The coil is sealed with a steel plate because it is a steam iron.....i doubt whether there is some scale buildup inside the steel plate which is causing a short to ground....is this correct....so cam i repair it or buy a new one ... thank u sir.....

Sonashi have the same procedure just screw driver special for rear plate other all method is same approximately for all steam irons some of them have a small screw under the top lid (near sprayer)

yes thermal fuse is first layer of safety. in any case of the temperature increases than the fuse specifications or the current increases than it's limits the fuses becomes open circuit in these steam irons this is the most common failure component

Sir the flyback smps design you have not finished it try and finish I think what you have to explain is the EMI filter and that is the end of it
