    After 3 years with my Aethos S-Works D-A, hands down. It is an amazing frame. I am not the fastest rider any more but the feeling of no sore or fatigue after a long ride is wonderful. Thank you!

    Love when an engineer speaks of a product with this kind of passion. It's a sign of pride in discovery. I need to ride one and hope production can make them more available soon!

    14 years of riding road bikes for buisness and fun, after 1000km+ on my Aethos it still makes me smile on every ride. Nevermind if up-/downhill or flats, this bicycle is just a pure pleasure to ride. I am very glad to call one my own.

      Btw. For me the most significant thing was the amount of comfort due to its vibrations damping preferences while still being incredibly stiff/efficient when getting out of the saddle. I'd call myself a pretty confident descender, don't know if it made me quicker. But deffinetly enjoying it even more. The feeling when you lay it into a turn at high speed is just hard to describe. Absolutly beautiful to ride. (Except the S-Works Turbo 25c tires, really couldn't make friends with them. The grip, the steering, the damping. Just not worth the S-Works on it in my opinion)

    I have to admit: I am (addicted to)Specialized!
    In my 54yrs and after 11 yrs on my custom Roubaix Pro SL I thought was better idea to go for Aethos than latest Roubaix incarnation...What an epiphany I had!
    I WAS AMAZED! This bike is blazingly fast, totally predictable and surefooted, unbelievably light, beautifully styled. The most curious thing is that after every ride I feel fresh and happy.
    A HUGE QUDOS to all THE AETHOS team at Specialized, for creating a JEM. A statement of what a pure road bike should be!

    A year ago, I test rode an S-Works Aethos and Tarmac SL7 on the same day but different loops. I was surprised that on the Aethos, I got PRs on downhill segments, and PRs on the Tarmac on uphills! Now I understand why for the Aethos. Thank you for the explanation. Hoping to buy one with the new Di2 as soon as you get them in stock.

      I confirm, it gives great confidence on downhills. I still own my 2016 SL5 on which I was confident but I can really feel the difference on my Aethos. Love it.

    Update sworks aethos into fully integrated with d shape of the fork less weight than circular just like the winspace slc 2.0 just only 2 cables can fit into the d shape fork. And the exit of wire for the rd make it at the back like sl7 to more ergonomics please 🙏 make it possible

    Honestly for all the people that have not ridden this bike you simply can’t understand. I took my freshly built S-Works out last weekend for a 275tss get it anyway you can ride. 4 hours in I actually didn’t want to get off this bike! Former sl4,sl5,sl6, Allez Sprint owner. It’s that good.

    • @gokaygs

      If it’s actually that good then why do the pros don’t use it? That’s the real question. I understand one develops major bias after spending $$$$ on this bike, the way you love it and claim it’s better than everything else. Then why don’t the pros use it if it’s really that good?

    Denk is a mastermind of bike design.
    The Aethos is a flexy noodle though because of the discs. You cant have a 600g frame with discs that is stiff lol.

  • @gokaygs
    @gokaygs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Engineer is so fascinated with the achieved frame weight but there is no rim brake option available, which should tell you how much marketing BS and profits drives the big cycling brands. Guess what specialized? The noob buyer influx that came in to the bike market with the pandemic is fading. Who’s gonna buy this SL4 with disc brakes(Aethos) in the next few years?

    • @slowcyclist4324
      @slowcyclist4324 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe because rim brakes suck?
      If it was in rim brake only, I wouldn’t even bother wasting my money on it, even if it cost a penny.

    • @gokaygs
      @gokaygs ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@slowcyclist4324 Rim brakes don’t need to prove themselves to a noob like yourself, it’s pedigree and obvious advantages vs disc are set in numbers and beyond argument for a road race bike.
      If you are a noob who doesn’t know how to use their brakes or weigh 90+ kilos or always ride in the rain then discs on road bike could be a better option then rim. If you believe rim brakes are garbage , feel free to elaborate what you learned on a gcn video, it’s funny to read.

    • @slowcyclist4324
      @slowcyclist4324 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, sure. I mean back then for road bikes we didn’t have a choice as all road bikes were rim brakes. Stopping on them felt shit compared to my enduro bike.
      As a 90minus30kg covid cyclist who only started riding a decade ago, I sure am nought but a GCN addled fool.
      Thank goodness though, that rim brake bikes and wheels will fade into mainstream obscurity in another half decade or two regardless of anything you do lol.
      It’s funnier when one side feels so certain about their views, but are completely helpless in protesting an inevitable change. I don’t need to prove the disc brake superiority lol, I’ll just watch you ride one in a decade time, or just see you stop riding entirely 😂😂😂

    • @gokaygs
      @gokaygs ปีที่แล้ว

      @@slowcyclist4324 never had a problem slowing down with rim brakes on road mate and I like sending it downhill often, also have been in plenty of hairy urban riding situations with wheel lockouts. Not sure how far back you are mentioning but the later shimano rim calipers are so solid, a dura ace caliper with swissstop pads will keep riding 5+ years without changing a single part. If road bikes rode well on enduro width tires then I’d be riding discs on road too but on a 28 mm tires’s grip discs are just overkill.
