I like the subtle branding without “SPECIALIZED” written in massive bold letters on the down tube.

I see a lot of comments on the color of this frame - I think you really have to see it in person, there's one at my local shop and it's totally different in person, subtle, but very cool. It has flakes of sparkle in it and changes color depending on the light - some angles more gray and some more blue shimmer. I like that it's different than most out there.

I just purchased a 2023 model, same color, size 54, in Korea. Been my dream bike and it finally came on sale and good dollar/won exchange rate so pulled the trigger. I'm over the moon. Plan to change tire size to 28 or 32 for comfort as I'm not a boy racer anymore.

From a positioning & rider balance point of view which plays a huge part on descents, plus aesthetics.
A 54cm with an 11 - 11.5cm stem would be a better fit for you, if given your seat height & reach are correct.

I just bought an E N V E Melee and love it. It is a pissed off bull ride. I have to pay attention and in Los Angeles which is pothole rich and all drivers texting all, adrenaline and awareness are requirements. I am using their 45’s and Ulteg i2 Physique 3Dprnted saddle. Vittoria 30’s tubeless are puncture invincible it appears ; the sharp object attempts are sealed by the sealant. Please re view but be prepared for a wild animal.

Nice bike dude. I sold a 2020 SL6 Tarmac Pro and switched to the Atheos S-Works. I have a 20 mile route I ride couple times a week, riding the Tarmac, best average speed 17.9 mph. The first time I rode the 20 mile route, my average speed jumped to 18.6mph(and getting closer to 19mph) plus the bike is so easy yo ride, tubeless tyres(Zipp 303 firecrest) make the ride sublime. I still hate going up hills but the Atheos makes it faster and easier.

Relatively easy to assemble th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA (note that is does not come with tools, so please have a set of hex/Allen keys and Phillips screwdriver handy). The bike weighs 27 lbs fully assembled, which is not bad.A couple quirks about the bike:- left brake lever operates the front brake (something to get used to if controlling the front brake with your right hand is what you usually do)- Shimano thumb shifters for the gears are positioned close to the center. This is a bit of a nuisance because changing gears involved taking your weight from one hand to change gears, a hassle if you are regularly changing gears. However, gear shifters positioned at the drop bars are very expensive compared to thumb shifters, so I can understand, given the price of the bikeBike is otherwise of good quality. Gears change fairly smoothly and fit/assembly is of good quality. A totally competent product for the price.

I have the aethos in carbon color and bike is neck turner. I agree with the below comments that the bike color in this video might not be the best and especially for such a price point. Personally, it is my first and last time with specailized. Don’t get me wrong, I love the aethos but bike does not perform as compared to its price and the warranty is not good. For such money, you can get a very nice and good performing bike like pinarello dogma. I also think that the journalist in this video is not that happy about the swap:) as I saw how proud he is of having a Tamrac

The aethos is fundamentally a different bike aimed at a very different target audience.
It’s a bike that could be used for races, but that’s not it’s intended purpose. It’s a bike that you take with you when your ride goal for the day is to just ride around and explore, when your destination is the riding sensation rather than the speed.
I have an aethos, and it is a perfect complement to my aero bike. I use both equally, and cannot imaging having having one without the other.
Case in point; I’m saying this, as a person who has owned a 2021 TCR advanced pro and a SL7. I’ll take my two complementary bikes over one single do-it-all anyday

With a 13stem in that frame size, he's too much weight over the front end which can & probably will cause instability issues on fast descents.
