1985年に発売された硬派なアクションゲーム「戦場の狼」の続編が、1990年にカプコンCPシステム第9弾として登場した。今回の目的はR軍の軍事クーデターに巻き込まれた前大統領を救出すること。前作と比べて数々のパワーアップアイテムがあることや、メガクラッシュが使えること、様々な乗り物が登場するなど、まったく別のゲームに仕上がっている。また、バイタリティ制が採用され、エネルギーが無くなるとゲームオーバーとなる。その他、3人同時プレイが可能である。
ストーリー:
合衆国前大統領が、R国の軍事クーデターにまきこまれてしまった!! 国家間の大戦を避けるべく、政府は密かに前大統領救出命令を出した。"ウルフ＝フォース"たった3人の傭兵部隊の出撃の時が来たのだ!!

ファイナルファイトのサントラ買ったときに一緒に収録されてたんだよね。この頃のカプコンサウンド好きだわ
A perfect run of MERCS if ever i saw one.
当時会社帰りにたてかわる前の渋谷の井の頭線の駅ビルのゲーセンでよくプレイしてたな。ただ戦場の狼の続編とは認識しないでプレイしてた。
pspのカプコンクラシックスコレクション版だと、隠しオプションでメガクラッシュ使い放題や全武器いつでも任意で切り替え可能といった機能が解放できたので無双プレイが楽しめて爽快でした
ネームエントリーの曲を最後まで聴かせてくれるのが嬉しいw
懐かしいです！ カプコンのゲームが好きで中古の基盤買って家でこれやってました！

さすがに上手い！私でも絶対無理ですし、５面の地雷が越えれられない壁でした。
稼動当時にゲーメストによるスコア集計がカンストで即日打ち切りになってしまったが、PSのカプコンジェネレーション Vol.3とPSPのカプコンアーケードクラシックスでスコア表記を７桁まで出せるように修正されましたからね。
とりあえず、シュワの映画要素を全部取り入れた感じだな

迫力や攻撃も多用多彩で面白いけど戦場の狼の要素はあんま無いがこれはこれで良い
このゴリマッチョキャラが好きだった。ランボー、コマンド―、怒、魂斗羅、北斗の拳、ロストワールド、脳筋、鉄骨番長ぐんぐんグルグルぐんぐんグルグル（狂気）。
列車のとこいいよな！BGM
懐かしい。自分も、大学浪人時代にカンストしたが、ここまでダメージを受けないプレイはできなかった。すごい。
グレネードランチャーは、やみくもに連射するより、ポン、ポンと目押しで撃ったほうが使い勝手とダメージ効率がよかったはず。
スリルがありつつ危なげ無いプレイにただただ感動です…何しろ初代「戦場の狼」と比べてあまりに難易度が上がりすぎて（個人の感想です）数回プレイしただけで投げ出した苦い記憶がありまして(´Д｀)。

今でも好きな作品。戦場の狼3も1942JointStrikeも日本でだしてほしい

The name of the game should translate into English as Wolves of the Battlefield 2. However, the actual title should have been Commando 2: Mercenaries.

JFJD the first game was commando from 1985. And then they made a commando 3 on PSN/XboxLive. This game's name translates to commando 2: wolf of the battlefield
At first, I thought Bionic & Captain Commando were the sequels to Commando, but, one day, on Wikipedia, I found out that THIS was the sequel.

このテのアクションSTGには当たり前のようにある射角固定すらないから
個人的にゲームとしてはちょっとアレだけど、爽快感やBGMは好きだった。
海外版タイトルの「MERCS」はMercenaries（傭兵）の略称かな？
立ち止まって斜めに撃てないのは疑問でしたね
とても古いコメントに何ですがメガドライブの移植版では改善されてましたね
CS機専用オリジナルモードも搭載でなかなかの名作でした。
大昔、ゲームセンターにいた時、このゲームが入荷して、30分位で設置されたら、その店の常連らしい人がPＬＡYして、あっさり1コインクリアした。😅

I wonder how they do perfect runs. Is it tool asisted? It must be impossible for one person to be perfect in every game
Some *cheaters* do tool assisted runs, but I don’t see the point. Almost all Japanese arcade games are so well designed that it’s possible to clear on one coin no matter how impossible they may first appear to be. With a LOT of practise. I can do Senjo no Ookami 2/Mercs myself. But it took me about twenty hours of practise to learn how! (All my own work with no guides or videos).
I don’t know how many people are involved in doing the runs on this channel but it gives some idea of the amount of time they’ve put in to learn so much about the games. It’s mind boggling!
It is not just one person for various games though. This channel just converts the emulator replays to videos and publishes here. These replays are submitted by various players.
