So visions 2 is finally here and it needs to be broken down. So here is the breakdown for every single episode of season 2, lets get straight into it. We begin with the 1st episode Titled Sith by studio el guiri. Perhaps the most conceptually complex of all the episodes, the first episode represents the force through the use of art. And this is especially the case for Lola, the main character, whose use of the force is represented by the art around her. We see Lola sleeping through a nightmare, and if you notice in the background, we can see these stripes of black shooting out around her. Symbolizing her struggle with the darkside and like created while she was having the nightmare. We see Lola have a drink which is probably this universe's equivalent of coffee and she then tries to use the force to control these liquid bubbles. But instead of staying as these colourful orbs, they quickly turn black, again reflecting her inner turmoil. Lola expresses her confusion over why this is happening, which sets the tone for the the entire episode. Which is all about accepting the light and the darkness within her. She walks through a indoor forest of some sort, and we get a brief glimpse at the dark lord watching her. The artwork in these scenes are simplistic but intricate at the same time. We see droid hands reach out from the ground and Lola walks into a dark corridor. And judging by her expression, there is clear discomfort. And this really reminded me of the darkside cave that Luke went through during the Empire Strikes Back. And like other parts of Lola’s home, it is as much a reflection of her as any part of the building. We also get to see the distinct eyes of the sith master both inside the tunnel and on the mural lola is creating. And in the sketched out but unpainted section, we even see her lightsaber hilt. Lola tries to paint her artwork, but as she does so, her paint progressively gets darker and darker. From a brownish colour all the way to black despite using the same rock. Lola reflects that the darkness wants to be part of the painting despite her intent, and this is perhaps a reflection of how persistent the darkside can be. On the other hand, as these paintings are a reflection of Lola, the encroaching darkness on her paintings is illustrative that it is part of her. And her refusal to accept that part of herself is creating turmoil within her. Lola decides to check out a faulty sensor, and she hops on a wheel bike which is a more colorful version of Grievous' wheel bike on Utapau. Lola fixes a loose repulsorlift, and repulsorlifts are what makes certain vehicles in star wars float. A sort of anti-gravity device. Although not sure what its purpose is here, given that Lola is using a wheel bike. Lola is confronted by the sith master and his goons, and the dark lord really reminded me of Darth Malgus, a sith lord from the old republic. Lola tries to escape, and notice how as the lasers make contact, they look like splashes of paint. Just another cool little detail. The goons chase after her using jetpacks which really reminded me of this scene (scene). Lola confronts her former master in the darkside corridor, which is reminiscent of Luke’s duel with Vader in the cave. Also it is worth mentioning that in this universe, lightsaber colours range from red to yellow. With red being the darkside and yellow representing the light. And as the duel progresses, we see the surroundings morph a few times, letting us know that what we initially perceived as physical constructs within the fortress, are actually metaphysical realities. Basically compartments of lola's personality, representing her character within. Lola ignites the other half of her lightsaber, accepting that the darkness within her is part of her and Kills her former master. And the episode ends with her acceptance and development of her inner self.
We then move on to episode 2, screeches reach. We begin the episode with a 2d perspective. We see workers wake up and attend to their daily chores in this factory. We hear the sound of a probe droid, the same one that the imperial probe droids make (scene)...

Screechers reach definitely felt like the most disturbing episode from both it's visuals and the unique way how they twist a somewhat angelic look into something with truly devious nature especially when dal says never look back. Along with the episode "the Pitt" which really gave a perspective of how the imperials don't really care for human life and would rather discard people like garbage once their done using them kinda like how they deal with planets and steal resources. Can't wait for volume 3 in a few months/a year from now

    • @1LEgGOdt

I want to say that the inspiration for The Pit was more the real world representation of Africa. Especially how the Imps treated the people there as well as how they viewed the Kyber Crystals as nothing more that a fast way to get rich. Just like how some evil men in Africa treat their own people and view diamonds or what we now call Blood Diamonds.

He's from an old Wallace and Gromit film called "grand day out 1989" (where they go to the moon) he's a traffic warden on the moon, but just want's to ski, he is ultimately left on the moon and is very down-hearted until he finds some scrap metal from the ship and makes some ski's he run's on coins tho so he will stop functioning, but now he's alive and well in star wars as an easter egg from 34 years ago!

I think the two sisters in episode 3 died at the end, because we see three bright stars in the sky, two of which were next to the centred one which represented the mother, making the other two the sisters. Them finally “seeing” the stars could be foreshadowing them stepping into the light and finally being reunited with their mother

I agree with this interpretation! It's more bittersweet, but it's a more mature ending with a stronger message. Sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself if you want to bring an evil empire down, and to do that you have to believe that you'll be in a better place after you go.

The "Indian Jinn" is meant to be an Asura. Asuras are a kind of War Gods hostile to their main gods, the Deva. They are ambitious, prideful and want power and are in struggle with the more peaceful Devas. Language Scientists found out, the german/norse gods of the aesir are phonetically related to the Asura and their enemies, the Vanir correspond to the Deva. And in Anime, the Asura were the main inspiration for the Saiyans.
(The Story with the prideful Asuras against the Peaceful Devas also has some parallels with Lucifer and his fallen angels in the bible. And in Zoroastrism, the main god is called an Ahura which is in Conflict with the so caled Deva.)

"The Pitt" was an extremely heavy episode, and it saddens me that a lot of people wont fully grasp its weight. The episode was a HUGE parallel for a BIPOC experience in the United States of America. A country that flaunts it's wealth and entertainment like the city just outside of the work zone but has mass incarceration's of people (predominantly minorities) and the way they are just left in a system that doesn't care for them after using them up (The Prison and Pharmaceutical industry) like the imperials just leaving those prisoners/workers after gathering all the Kyber. The fact that the Krux was stunned and just chucked over the edge really upset me but it is a blatant exposer and reminder of the unnecessary police brutality and execution of black and brown bodies in the US. The episode heavily focused on people of color; to the mural at the very end, to the narrative and perspective of the workers I strongly feel the target audience was black. I was extremely torn after watching this episode because it was so raw and it wounded me. I was mad after watching it but I also felt seen in the struggles I've experienced as a black man and Star Wars fan. Just some incite from someone who could relate. Great job on this Breakdown, I love how Maz Kanata's hand is seen grabbing Anakin's Lightsaber in "I am your Mother". I can't wait for season 3.

Well a few more details of episode 3
Its heavily implied thaf the sisters died after destroying the factory or maybe even later with thoses 2 stars shiny just next to the mother star
Now more than Patagonia its a story about the fire island and its inhabitants the selknam that have a unique culture that even included some really colorful costumes that had a very espiritual connection with diferent rituals like coming of each and such and the real sad part is that selknam were both killed or kidnapped and even taken into human zoo's in europe in 1900
And in another note that all factory destroyed by water feels like that one episode of avatar
And about that same factory i also felt a strong connection with that whole native populations nature and society vs companies was real present on the massive protest we had in here in 2019

One misinterpretation that bothered me a bit was the idea that light and dark are two sides of the se coin. It’s been confirmed that the force is inherently light side and the dark side is corrupting the force to selfish ends in a way that perverts both the user and the force.

    • @Seeker118
      @Seeker118 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Not exactly it is in fact the same coin in canon there is the brother(dark) and sister(light) and the father (the balance between them) but over them is the force itself it’s main job is to keep balance between the two the dark side is no stronger than the light just that it’s quicker so people tend to pick it but I’m truth it’s all about perspective

A little disappointed that you didn't have much to say in terms of a breakdown for episode 8, "The Pit", with it having so many references to the US. Especially with your takeaway of Patagonia and Chile on episode 3, "In The Stars", and realizing that this season features varying cultural backgrounds. There was so much to episode 8. A whole city being built off of the work of people who were essentially slaves, which harkens to the United States and how it was built. Once the resources are fully extracted, the slaves are left abandoned in a deep hole far away from the wealth they helped create. It isn't until the death of a member belonging to those left behind, who captures the attention of everyone in that city, similar to George Floyd, that the city rises up and helps those who were purposefully disregarded. They even included a spray painted memorial of the guy who died which again is reminiscent of all the murals that were created after the death of George Floyd. These season featured a lot of colonialism references so to have one that touches on US history a bit was fitting. I'm hoping more people resonate with the episode than it seems because it definitely landed with me.

the worst one for me is "The Pit", it is everything wrong in modern media (Disney Star Wars, Marvel and Hollywood)
it is a "political and hand wavy message" or a "sermon" rather than telling a story.
Also the solution and ending to that story is none -sensical, you're telling me if they keep saying and yelling "follow the light" on a pit and the city is miles away, they would hear it? But the dude who really went there and made an effort to climb and call for help did get snubbed by everyone.
the dude who got thrown to the pit would also probably be alive, if they used their tents to saved him or at least grab him from underneath.
dude would be having a "disappointed meme face" in heaven, when he knows they should've yelled "follow the light" to get them saved.
this one needs to be thrown to the pit!! haha

But the dude who really went there and made an effort to climb and call for help did get snubbed by everyone."
I think the pont is that despite the boys people not believing anyone could help, people actually listen to him, but didn't act immediately, because they were taking but surprise.
"the dude who got thrown to the pit would also probably be alive, if they used their tents to saved him or at least grab him from underneath."
It's also shown that they could barely see in the dark so they couldn't do much to save him, they only heard sounds ourtside the pit, but couldn't see what's happening.
"it is a "political and hand wavy message" or a "sermon" rather than telling a story."
A lot of stories if not most are made to send a message or a lesson, I don't see the problem.

@@calebzamudio9445 no, this is the most "Handwavy" of them all.
most Star Wars, are an adventure story, you can have a politcal or spy Thriller on Andor with a hidden message on it and it will be okay,
but this one has bad story telling and it is a "message over story" which the message is very obvious,
every other episode is "Story over message" the message comes second.
why it is more likely a sermon or a lecture rather than telling a good story.

    • @gintokisan5171
      @gintokisan5171 ปีที่แล้ว

@@FranciscoRamirez-nb4uu yes you can have a message or a lesson to the story, but hide them until it isn't that too obvious or make your story as a focus not the message,
but I'd prefer to not put too much message on a story or make a story to give a message. It'd feel like you are brainwashing your audiences.
why Star Wars new trilogy failed because they injected agendas and too much brainwashy elements to their story.
you'd see it in newer movies, like Charlie's Angels (2019), WonderWoman 1984 some of the Marvel films and etc.

I noticed that 6/9 episodes the main character was female (4 of whom were young girls), 2 episodes had a male protagonist (e7 & e8), and 1 had a male & female sharing the lead role (e5). So definitely a pattern of focusing on females over males. On the other hand, all 3 male leads were shown to be pretty competent.
