I have a confession.... Years ago, I played this game not knowing that I could upgrade my weapons, and yes, I did complete the game without upgrades. Though I felt stupid for not knowing of this, I also felt like a beast.
This fight literally defied physics, gravity, acceleration, motion, manipulation, space, time, fire, lighting, swords, fists, strength, gravitational pull, air resistance, how big beards can be, chains, age, realms, gods, the difference between no hair and having hair, basically everything
This fight was so cool the first time I fought him. It’s so cinematic and engaging. Kratos killed all the other gods before Zeus, and now is using all their own artifacts against him. Kratos could sense the thoughts going through Zeus’s head when using the weapons of his fallen kin. “you killed hades and you’re using his own claws against me... Hercules too...Those are my sons gauntlets! Helios.... what did Kratos do to you?...” Nearly every weapon Kratos used on him was basically a taunt, an insult to him, escalating the fight. Making both fighters equally pissed at eachother. Making both their desires to kill eachother even stronger.
Ngl when I first fought Zeus I had no idea I was supposed to stop on my own, I thought the game would stop me when the time came, but no I spent a solid 50 minutes beating on Zeus wondering when it was over with. There really should have been an achievement for beating on him for much longer than necessary

I was stuck on this stage, years agoooo,.for soooo long, then came back like a week later and finished it in one try. Love this game so much. So many memories 🩷
