One of the most badass and iconic opening in video game history. The narration of Zeus, the music, the power of the Titans and ofcourse Kratos himself! What a game! Crazy how everyone in this video is dead and the world (Greece and their pantheon) is destroyed, killed by one man mostly and Kratos did all of this in a matter of 3 days.
@@GODOFWAR9197 yeah but it was 2-3 days. Kratos's journey from the Underworld all the way to meeting Zeus and the final Boss fight wasn't on the same day.
The graphics of GoW 3 still look too unique and the aesthetics are unmatched. This game always felt like art before anything, the soundtrack is absurdly rich as well as the world building throughout the narrative. 11/10
Kratos is literally one of the worst characters of all time though? He's literally just an angry man child and blames all of his problems on others, while ignoring everything he's ever done wrong.

Ares tricked him and made him kill his family, the Gods refused to let go of his nightmares and Zeus took away Kratos' brother (Deimos) when he was a kid and controlled Callisto (Kratos' mother) and this was before Pandora's Box, So the Gods are at Fault for nearly everything (I shouldn't even mention they destroyed Sparta), and idk what you are talking about when you say Kratos is the worst. The prob arises when you try and compare because the limits of titans powers are never well explained since they were banished so long ago
Reminder that this takes place pretty much IMMEDIATLY after the end of GoW 2 So after getting betrayed by Zeus in 2, he spent god knows how many days and nights up from the betrayal to the moment when he killed Zeus, constantly fighting off until his revenge was completed. THATS SOME INSANE DEDICATION RIGHT THERE
And can you imagine the perspective of Zeus he literally was killing kratos just for another kratos to appear out of no where then literally the end of Olympus was upon them had no time to plan no time to understand how kratos was able to do this

If Zeus joined the battle from the get go with his thunderbolts the Titans would've been eradicated quicker and they could have gone 6v1 vs kratos, but their hubris of underestimating kratos at every turn was their downfall, the loss of ares and Athena their warmongers cost them the war dearly literally as they had no counsel to discuss tactics on the fly

Thor and Odin were really stupid for testing Kratos because they are fully aware that he murdered Gods that controlled time, matter and all forms of energy. The director even confirmed that Kratos grew ever more stronger and powerful. Plot armour implies that Kratos would logically not have been capable of defeating Poseidon and only did so because the plot demanded it, but if you actually pay attention you'd realize that this version of Kratos went toe to toe with Zeus, the King of the Gods, and almost won. Zeus was only saved because Athena intervened.

I feel like coming back to replay these games now that I'm currently replaying God of War PS5. It's crazy seeing how Kratos has evolved from then to now.
I like how Zeus leap into the sky and released that devastating Lightning blow, that instantly shattered Gaia Hands and blow them away, the true mark of a Lightning God
First game I preordered, waited all night for and was there at GameStop right at midnight! Was fucking packed too! I got the expensive as edition that came with Pandora’s box that I use to this very day.
I'm not sure they would do it with all the greek games (those would be 6) but I am sure that God of War 1 is getting a remake in the near future. I can only imagine the wonders of the Aegean Sea, Athens, the Desert and Pandora's Temple.

Hell, God of War 2 (2007) still looks decent despite being a PS2 game. It’s biggest graphical flaw is the resolution, upscale that and nothing else in an emulator (or just play the PS3 HD version) and it’s like wiping a layer of blur off the screen that lets the artstyle shine even more.
Watching the Titans Climbing the Mountains is something I'll never forget. It's so badass and cool, to reach the peak 🗻 of the Olympus was something very especial.

What a Start to the game man, I still remember that feeling of playing this on a PS3 just bought for playing this masterpiece, I wish I could play this game for the first time again. So cool man
The mere _prospect_ of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon (and Helios and Hercules and Atlas but shhh) teaming up amazes me. In Greek mythos, it's said that these three aren't in a very good relationship with each other. Yet here they are, fighting against the Titans, defending Olympus. And they're as awesome as I'd thought they'd be.
Xmas 2010. Father had just bought my little brother a new PS3 slim 320GB, Black Ops 1 and THIS GAME! When I 1st laid eyes on the graphics and epicness of this scene I was a fan immediately. Prior to that I saw snippets of my younger brother playing 1 and 2 which never grasped me. This did! What a game.
I love at 15:39 when Gaia grabs the mountainside with her damaged arm you can see the vines on the inside of her arm being stretched as she clings on. Amazing detail. Graphics are absolutely fantastic for a fuckin ps3 game

With the Titans and Olympians being equal in strength, the Titan's size becomes a hindrance. It just makes them slow with too many blind spots.
Titans can shrink and grow but mount Olympus is massive so it’s faster to grow large and climb it than walk up there

I'm not sure they would do it with all the greek games (those would be 6) but I am sure that God of War 1 is getting a remake in the near future. I can only imagine the wonders of the Aegean Sea, Athens, the Desert and Pandora's Temple.

Hell, God of War 2 (2007) still looks decent despite being a PS2 game. It’s biggest graphical flaw is the resolution, upscale that and nothing else in an emulator (or just play the PS3 HD version) and it’s like wiping a layer of blur off the screen that lets the artstyle shine even more.

The mere _prospect_ of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon (and Helios and Hercules and Atlas but shhh) teaming up amazes me. In Greek mythos, it's said that these three aren't in a very good relationship with each other. Yet here they are, fighting against the Titans, defending Olympus. And they're as awesome as I'd thought they'd be.

Xmas 2010. Father had just bought my little brother a new PS3 slim 320GB, Black Ops 1 and THIS GAME! When I 1st laid eyes on the graphics and epicness of this scene I was a fan immediately. Prior to that I saw snippets of my younger brother playing 1 and 2 which never grasped me. This did! What a game.
I love at 15:39 when Gaia grabs the mountainside with her damaged arm you can see the vines on the inside of her arm being stretched as she clings on. Amazing detail. Graphics are absolutely fantastic for a fuckin ps3 game
I remember getting super HYPED when Gaia landed that punch on Poseidon. It was so intense.
