Considering how the Spartans value brotherhood and respected great warriors, it’s a nice to see Kratos at least attempt to talk things out with Hercules like a calm and reasonable person.
Notice how Kratos is not outright killing everyone on sight. He talks to Hera in a calm manner, and tells Hercules that he's not trying to fight since the latter's not his target. He'd probably have left the other gods alone if they didn't fight him.
"While you were being crowned the God of War, I was sent to find an apple." If it makes you feel better, Hercules, Kratos was sent to find a toy ball for a dwarf and her dog.
Agreed. Hercules was one of the very few characters in the entire series that Kratos had no desire to fight or kill, but yet this version of Hercules had be just as dumb and as evil as the Gods were.
Hercules: While you were crowned the god of war, I was sent to find an apple Hera: *Laughing knowing she was behind all the disgraces in Hercules' life*
The funny thing is, Kratos regularly gives his human and demigod opponents a chance to back down or at least just get out of his way. Unfortunately, many of them are too confident, too crazy, too desperate, or too loyal to the gods to do so.
@@theblacknexus9604 "This is not between us, Hercules." "The air on Olympus affects your thinking, brother. Zeus has no favorites." "You aspire to be an Olympian, yet their reign is ending, Hercules." Kratos, in his way, did try and talk Hercules down, but Herc wouldn't have it.

its funny cuz the pandora's box in GoW 1 corrupted every Olympian Gods and Titan even warriors thats why they are being an assholes To Kratos Cuz Kratos Was Been Possessed By the Power of Hope That Athena Thought Destroyed the Dark magic inside pandora's box
It's kind of neat how Hercules is legitimately the only boss character (at least in GOW III) that Kratos tries to reason with at this point in his life. Like he defended himself against accusations from Cronos but he never tried to talk him down and he never tried to reason with the other Olympians (even Athena in II). I think that really speaks to the respect Kratos had for Herc (at the very least for their shared circumstances) and it kinda makes me wish we saw them interact more before this.
Bruh imagine if Kratos was more chill Heracles: I will kill and take the throne for myself Kratos: oh you wanna be the motherfucking god of war sure thing dude your the new god of war fuck I just want to kill Zeus I don’t care much
@@ItsButterBean1020 given the bad blood with Cronos, he likely wasn't in the mood for talk; Kratos did offer to help Helios in exchange to learn where the flame of Olympus was. Unfortunately, Helios chose not to be helpful and Kratos decided to rip his head off in a most brutal fashion. There also was Hermes, in which Kratos told him he didn't feel like dealing with him, but at it was shown Hermes continued to be a most annoying asshole towards him and Kratos decided to chop his legs off.
@@comarcampbell365 seemingly but I’d note the timeline seems to put Hercules and Kratos as contemporaries The novels mention he killed a Hydra before GOW1 and he claims he was hunting for the Apples of Hesperides during GOW1
As a guy who wrestled back in high school, I appreciate the fact that Hercules (I prefer to use his Greek name, Heracles), moves like a wrestler during the part of the fight where Kratos steals his gauntlets. It gives a flavour of authenticity, considering it’s taking place in Ancient Greece
For those who don’t know that’s Kevin Sorbo as Hercules reprising his role from Hercules the legendary journeys. They also got Harry Hamlin from clash of the titans to reprise his role as Perseus in GoW 2. I just find those facts really cool.
Atreus:Father can you tell me a story? Kratos:Very well boi.. Once there was a prideful man who stood for nothing but glory. His life was taken by another man who stood for revenge. The proud falls before all. Kratos:So do not let your pride be your down fall boi or you'll end up like my brother. Atreus:Wait! I have an Uncle!?!?$ Kratos:You HAD an uncle.
@@elock1277 That part where it says: "Atreus:Wait! I have an Uncle??!" "Kratos:You had an uncle." I saw that once in the comment of another video showing kratos against deimos in God of War If that's just a coincidence then I apologise
To many Hercules sure is big and tough, but to Kratos he is not intimidated by his presence because he faced bigger, badder, and nastier foes in the past.
Yeah he was the god of war...I doubt he could be afraid at all when it comes to a confrontation..Plus he was already ready to take on Zues ..If he is already in doubt of himself when faced with Heracles he would never think to challenge a more dangerous opponent like Zues
Kratos and Heracles’ stories are very similar. Both got their powers from gods, both killed their families in a blind rage, both have done tasks to be forgiven for their sins and both attempted to take their own lives only to be given godhood afterwards. Also they both threw hands with Ares at one point
I think that was the manifestation of some brotherly sentiment toward Hercules. He was showing him mercy because they were siblings. Of course, there's an extent to Kratos being reasonable
@@saimcheeda93 Kratos attempted to spare Hercules cause he understood they had similar backgrounds. Kratos was the sibling of Hephaestus, Athena, Hermes and several other gods but Hercules was the only one he saw as his brother.
C Sab don’t go! Look what you have done guys, he left! I need answers about that apple, I never heard the story about it! Please come back! Tell me you KNOWLEDGE!
Imagine how different this conversation between Kratos and Hercules would’ve turned out if older Kratos was the one to speak to him instead, I would say he would’ve convinced him to change his ways too
Probably not. It was clear from the get-go that Hercules had personal reasons to want Kratos dead. Couple that with everyone else in Olympus wanting him dead (for the most part anyway) and it was set in stone
Presuming Atreus is there for the hypothetical too, the familial connection might be enough for Hercules to consider surrender. Note also he already has a bitter inferiority complex so it’s unlikely that being spared would hurt his pride like it did Heimdall’s.
Kratos has no beef with him it wouldn’t matter which kratos it was he basically was telling him his beef isn’t with him but Hercules was jealous of kratos “The air on Olympus effects your thinking brother Zues has no favorites”
The irony is that Hercules’ labors were meant to temper his brute strength with an equal measure of discipline and wisdom. And since he stood against Kratos… well I guess it didn’t work so well.
Is because of the "Evil" energy Kratos released from Pandora's Box. Kinda like the "Seven Deadly Sins" the energy is. Hercules obviously infected by "jealousy".
@@jakojii Heracles was the strongest of Greek heroes that he ended up becoming Immortal. It was the game that made him look like an idiot. I wish the game stuck with the cannon. Heracles would've killed Kratos or at least put up the hardest challenge that Kratos would've faced.

And last capture the cerberus (three-headed pet of Hades) from the underworld Honorable mention he killed a snake while he was 1 years old with his bare hands
Actually this is the first time i see kratos doesnt want to fight / reason with his enemies When kratos says " This is not between US Hercules " " Zeus has no favorite " Kratos give Hercules a chance to live but Hercules is dumb thinking about title and other thinking
Dustin Gt I think there is a theory on the God of War wiki that says that the reason Kratos doesn't want to fight Hercules was because he knows that Hercules was tricked by Hera into killing his family and was seeking redemption for it, much like he was. There's also the fact that he's also a demigod son of Zeus; Kratos basically sees aspects of him in Hercules, and thus sympathises with him. There's also another theory that this is part of a weird set of occurrences, in which whenever Kratos encounters one of his demigod siblings, he doesn't want to fight them, but they want to fight him. The other two examples were Perseus and Deimos.
Hasan Habib Soo kratos and Hercules is have a same fate that his real family is murder by themself because tricked by the God . So kratos evade to fight Hercules because he can change to his side or just leave . So kratos seek revenge but Hercules is tricked by Hera and became arrogant and hungry for title and he want to kill kratos . If Hercules and kratos team up that Will be COOL
Kratos only wants Zeus to die all the other Gods go to stop him and he kills them for being in his way. He has no beef with them they're just in his way
I absolutely love the new GOW game but something about this one from the leap it made graphics wise from GOW 2, to the characters, to the music, to the gameplay was just something else. You just had to be there when this game first came out to truly appreciate it! Forever in my top 5 list!

Has anyone else noticed Kratos' evolution throughout this entire series? He started as a vengeful servant of Aries, hellbent on destroying the god of War for the death of his family (which I believe he was tricked to killing), to leading his Spartans as the god of War to victory all over Greece, becoming focused on killing Zeus after his betrayal, taking control of his own fate, rallying the Titans to fight the Olympians, to finally destroying the ancient world by killing the gods. Yet, despite all of this, rather than surrendering the power of Hope to Athena, and giving her the power to rule over all mortals, Kratos chose to sacrifice himself so that Hope would be spread out among humanity, to counteract the evils of the gods now released around the world. Was it a final act of defiance on Kratos' part, to deny even Athena the power to rule over mortals, or did he believe that it was time for humanity to take control of their own lives, free of the gods, just as he had?
Hercules in here is the absolute monster in strength that he was always portrayed as in the original mythology. Also, the gore in his death is unprecedented in how well done it is.
Kratos: “you aspire to be an Olympian yet their reign is ending” Hercules: “we will see about that” Kratos: “umm u didn’t see me kill Poseidon and all those other guys before I got here?”
Hercules.... Kratos gave you the chance to just walk away and leave. he had no business with you, and you could have just simply walked away and lived long enough to see the rise of the Norse Gods. why didn't you just walk away?!
@@aurthermorgan4496 it was actually a very arduous labor, Hercules needed to take atlas place of carrying the heavens because he was the only one that could grab the apple due to his size.
I'm okay with this, Hercules was transformed in a god after his death, so It makes sense he still being alive. The problem is Perseus, who was Hercules granfather, was still pretty young in GOW 2
@Jojohn B Best Why are people even thinking about such stupid scenarios. This is God of War game, Kratos can't die. There is absolutelly 0 sense to make such scenarios.

Bruh imagine if Kratos was more chill

There also was Hermes, in which Kratos told him he didn't feel like dealing with him, but at it was shown Hermes continued to be a most annoying asshole towards him and Kratos decided to chop his legs off.

Imagine how different this conversation between Kratos and Hercules would’ve turned out if older Kratos was the one to speak to him instead, I would say he would’ve convinced him to change his ways too

Dustin Gt i read somewhere that perhaps hercules was corrupted aswell by the pandoras box
KoalasOnFire true
