Hey I actually got them and honestly I prefer no oil. I emptied the res and removed the o ring and plastic ring so that they perform smoother. Like stock except adjustable. They seemed sticky and not consistent with oil. Also the oil leaked out no matter what I did. I’m going for a scale look anyway and the dry shocks seem to act more like a real truck. Owner of g-speed chassis 1/10 crawler guys recommend no oil. He says that oil is more for high speed bashing. Thanks I still love them for the look and adjustability over stock.
Hey Buddy, awesome vid. i just own a c10 scx24 and setting up my rig, was hoping if where can I get a hold of your cool rims and tires... your video is a big help to me, much appreciated. thanks.
Thanks. The wheels are 1" RC4WD silver stamped steel beadlocks. I reversed the hub on opposite side when I installed them to get more negative offset for a wider stance. Tires are 1" RC4WD Millestar Patagonias. Link for wheels: store.rc4wd.com/Stamped-Steel-10-Stock-Beadlock-Wheels-Silver_p_7086.html
model SXTF326RX04. How do they look 1 week later? haven't found a standard fit shock to hold its oil payload for more than a few days and creating a mess - really keen to know how they hold up. appreciate the video
So far no leak. I didn't get a chance to drive it much since, but every time a walk by it I compress the shocks and check for leaks. So far up until last night no issues. I'll keep updating in the comments here if anything changes.
Great comparison video! I have some that just came in to try. Are you using the silicon o ring lube HR recommends? I imagine that will help prevent leaks.
@@bcochener Thank you. I tried to get the lowest weight oil my LHS had in stock. It's a Losi silicone 22.5w oil. At the moment I can see the shock shaft being wet with oil, but no actual leak. Still happy with them. Keep on RC-ing.
Hr shocks and double barrel shocks keep binding on me?? I'll feel like the stock one's still work out the best. Any secrets I've tried oil in both two drops
Question: Is there no need to pump the lower arm a few times just to insure there are no tiny air bubbles accidentally trapped in the resivore & properly set the oil during filling, before replacing cap, & installing onto vehicle?.
No. There actually has to be at least 20% air in the shocks. Filling to 100%, with no air, will bind the shock and will not move at all and eventually break the seal.
I got the non oil filled ones. They are so bad that I don't want to even give the filled ones a try.. also do not care for the o ring to hold the shock ontonthe stud. I mean that just seems like a rush job and not a good way to do it..I ended up going back to the stock ones with a medium weight spring.
the side by side demo was a great idea 👍
Great job - thanks for sharing. I put the same shocks in = massive improvement
hopefully, i would be an owner of SCX24 very soon, been looking for a content like that. pretty easy for such improvement, huh
thank u!
amazing comparison! Thanks a lot!
Great video! I have been an advocate of oil shocks in almost all my vids! Subscribed friend!
Great video. Informative to the point and useful thank you.
Thank you.
Nice vid! Put the shocks on my list for my new and first crawler Gladiator. I already bought to much parts and will drive modified stock first.
Now I can pull the plug on oil filled shocks
This was a really great professional video. I’m getting them. Thanks
Thanks man

Well done. Thanks!
Great side-by-side comparison
if you do overfill the shocks, you can just repeatedly compression-cycle them till the excess oil is pushed out, right?
Yes, you should be able to remove the excess oil like that before fully tightening the cap
Nice work my friend 💪👍

Nice job...
Just put these shocks in. Love the performance but hate that you lose travel.

I used team associated 50 weight for my shocks on my scx24 jeep
Great video! Gotta try oil but I only run on an indoor course do they leak a bunch?
Thanks man. So far no leaks. Others have had these on for even longer without any issues.
I filled mine with 30wt oil which is a little heavy but still works great. Not sure if i wanna get a bottle of 15wt just to use a few drops!
You're right. I also used what I could get at the time.
Thx for watching and commenting.
I wonder if different companies do oil filled shocks without sacrificing length.
I heard that MoFo RC oil shocks have at least as stock travel, but don't quote me on it.
@@Nicks_Hobbies_Channel Thanks! I’ll check it out 🙂

Do they leak over time?
Yes, they do. But I still prefer them over the non oil ones
