    I recently got a set of these shocks and I really like them for that “scale effect” and reduced bounce. I have noticed on Horizon Hobby’s store they have a 50mm proline oil shock with 14.75mm of stroke vs the Big Bore’s 8mm. Mounted Diagonally could allow for some incredible travel. Thanks for the vid and sharing your opinion!

    Glad someone did this!! Thanks for the vid Matt! I've actually been waiting for someone to test these very minimal travel shocks. lol

    Thanks for the video, I now run 3 sets of the injora oil filled shock, no leaks, and a good soft spring. I get a noticeable increase in performance over the double barrels. Run them on 7000wt diff oil!😮👍

    Definitely went from one dramatic to another I mean I don't know why they didn't go in between why I go 34 to 50 42 to 45 would have been perfect

    Last year I had the stock length Hot Racing oil emulsion shocks on my 220g Goblin V1 with some pretty heavy weight oil in them (maybe around 60wt, I can't remember). Hardly any articulation, mainly due to the travel not the heavy oil, but like I said it was light and well balanced, which made it actually very rewarding to drive.
    I almost want to try these Big Bores, but certainly not for $40., and especially when I'm only going to swap them out every once in a while for a different experience on my Goblin V2 with Carisma shocks currently. I'd honestly rather spend the $50 on those new Nexx Racing shocks and take a chance that they may fit.

    I'm going to stick with my 43mm long travel shocks and flexblades. None of these oil shocks interest me

    The course is looking great Matt, I just got information on my K5 should have May 8. Got my from FMS the black smasher body kit looks awesome, it’s a matte finish like the blue one except for black looks awesome

    The screws on the proline shocks didn’t match. How did you get around that for mounting?

    Nothing has come close to the HR LT Oil shocks. Perfect length, smooth as butter, and quick change spring bottom collar. These Prolines look even larger diameter than the Injoras oils! … and those injoras took a lot of spacers to get them clearance from the frame. Not sure if I am going to bite on these Prolines.

      Yessss! Love those shocks. I still have 1 set in the pack just waiting for the perfect build lol

    How did you get all the different colors in the concrete of your course? Just sprinkle some of the red dirt you have around there?
    It really takes the look to the next level.

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I used some of this stain. I mixed some in the concrete but it actually works best to just dab it on a brush and lightly coat it on the surface just after applying the concrete to the course. Great for making like mud tracks etc. I’m hoping to have a video on how I did the entire course soon.

    I know it seems like everyone has moved on from flex blades but curious if by chance you may have some to try with these to see if it helps make up for some of that length.

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I probably have some in the bin somewhere. They would definitely help make them longer and add some flex. I just don’t like them because they are a little unpredictable. Sometimes they decide to unload at the worst time lol

    • @bcochener
      @bcochener ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Limit the axle at the center point and it won’t drop out on you. I still use the flexblades a lot on stock length shock rears to get a bit more. Never use them on the front though. Steering link interference…

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bcochener yeah that’s what I do on mine. Just prefer a little longer shock on the rear with no flex blade. Definitely a bit shorter in the front! The blades just bug me more than they benefit me lol

    Idk what side hilling and climbing has to do with oil shocks, it showed nothing tbh. It’s not why you’d get oil shocks.
    What I’m more curious how they would feel during a bounce, you know when you try to get some grip during tyre compression and making small jump uphill or when settling down.
    The rig in video drove nicely, can deffo see the difference compared to no damping.
    I’ve got a rig that could use them in front, sad they come in 4, wish they had just pairs.
    Question is if they leak like all other

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that test really does nothing with this mod. Just had the setup table on the bench where my son put it together so figured I’d see if it made any difference at all lol. They definitely helped in the situation you’re talking about because you don’t get all that body bounce and definitely cuts out the chatter from the body slapping around in those spots. Much smoother for sure.
