A friend of mine as a kid slipped on horse feces, fell and impaled himself on a corn rake through his mid-back when out in the barn. He called for help for several moments but no one could hear him so he tried to lift himself up. According to him, the haft was under his butt so when he tried to lift/sit himself up, the prongs came out and due to the sudden pain from that his arms gave again and he reimpaled himself. His father found him after the dog came in and started barking like mad. He has 5 scars in mid lower back from a farm tool with 4 prongs...... Now I am not saying he didn't kill his wife, just that she could have done a similar thing if it was indeed an accident. I would not think so if I didn't know someone that had a similar (alleged) accident.
I was wondering this same thing. Some people have a low pain tolerance and might pass out from the pain. Also, if one prong was in a particular place the blood pressure loss from pulling it out alone could cause lost consciousness. I'm not saying it wasn't a murder, but I don't know that six holes by themselves would be enough. Maybe there was other evidence we aren't privy to that solidified the homicide call, though.
I'm with you, I think there is reasonable doubt for sure. Also I think the only time he and son were apart was when the son was getting water or something and the distance from where they were to where she was was pretty huge so it would have been quite difficult for him to get there, kill her in that very small space, and get back and be normal. A lot of factors in this for sure
This is exactly what I pictured in my mind. I am not saying he's innocent or guilty, but I would have reasonable doubt unless they could show this scenario did not happen.
the prosecutor sounded like a ghost hunter trying to make the jury believe he was saying anything during that 911 call, it was way too muffled to understand
It's SUCH a stretch to make it into "whore" when he's counting. I mean, the most likely thing is that he's muttering "four." Pretty much everyone counts out loud while doing CPR.
I thought he MIGHT HAVE said "cheating whore", but I didn't hear the "go to hell" in the second audio exmaple, before he apparently says "cheating whore" again. Whilst he's obviously guilty, it's most likely him saying "1,2,3,4"
@@cayleemc i disagree. Their is more showing he didn't do it than he did. His kid backed up his story and its not a far fetch that if she fell on a pitch fork, pried herself off, and fell back on it due to passing out is likely to be what happened.
@@ufarkingicehole agree with your assessment about the lawyer and the potato fork. If she had been stabbed twice there would have been eight, not six puncture wounds. Plus the depth of the individual wounds wasn't mentioned. And there's so many ways to die from an accident on a farm. Why a potato fork? It would be extremely difficult to swing that in an enclosed space and hit someone square in the back with enough force to get past the ribs and spine. You would have to stand to the side well within the peripheral vision of the victim without them moving to block it. And he supposedly swung it twice? Meaning he jerked it out, an implement with barbed prongs through all that bone, muscle and muscle fascia then swung and hit her again in the same spot??? All without spattering blood all over the place or leaving signs of a struggle??? I'll say it again, if he'd had a better lawyer and a better wife he wouldn't have been convicted.
One of my favourite things about That Chapter is how Mike almost NEVER asks viewers to "like & subscribe and don't forget to turn on notifications" yet he still has over 1 MIL subscribers
Yeah I love that about him. My biggest pet peeve is watching a video for someone I’ve never seen before. And 10 seconds in I’m being told to like, comment, subscribe, hit the notification bell, join the discord, bla bla bla. At that point I leave and never come back lol.
He does in his early videos but it's very brief and not at all the reason why he has so many views. He's one of the few TH-camrs who understands his quality and entertainment speaks for itself.
Was literally about to play something in the background while cleaning... now I’ve just been sitting on my bathroom floor for 22 minutes glued to my phone😂 thanks mike
The poor kid did it imo, I remember seeing another video on this case (cant think for the life of me which channel) and im pretty sure there was video captured that day (contrary to what mike said so maybe I'm mistaken) which could account for Todds location aside for a min or so which wasnt realistically long enough for him to get to the crime scene kill his wife and remove any trace of a altercation. The son also left Todd for around 15mins or so? to get water, I hope i'm remembering this correctly, giving him time to commit the murder. Also regarding the Google search it was a family Ipad barely used if at all by Todd.
And Mike didn’t mention this but also the father laid the mother right on his sons lap like that as they were rushing to the hospital in the car... my God
I have to admit that it took me like 5 episodes to get used to mike then a few more to grow on me ( I ran out of mr ballen and coffee house crime episodes) now one of my favorite channels. His querikyness is surprisingly addictive.
MrBallen is a sell-out.. he started strong with FIVE vids per week.. then he sold out.. went off youtube and he now posts only once per week and his vids are subpar Mike.. on the other hand? he's INCREASING his episodes AND does his podcast twice per week!! and.. Mike's content is entertaining and well vetted and presented.. Mike is a GEM.. and.. I'm HERE for it
I still can't make myself watch Mr. Ballen. That chapter is actually the ONLY true crime channel I'll watch where the narrator spends half the video on screen. That's what I hated about Mr. Ballen. I don't like staring at people while they talk. I have no idea why. I just irritates me.
In his good old videos he was quite wary and abstained from showing his personality and wit. I'm so happy he's got more relaxed now that we see his dark humour which helps to balance the horror of his stories. He's brilliant.
Just re-watch them. I re-watch his videos all the time. I can barely remember if I've seen them (though I know I have). So.... I HAVE to re-watch them.
Defense Attorney: “You will find by the end of this case not only that there is a reasonable doubt about Todd Mullis’ guilt, you will find there is no doubt at all.” Todd thinking: “Can I get another attorney?!?”
I noticed that right away too and thought, 'WTF? That doesn't sound right... maybe it's me.' Mmmm good old Freudian Slip there even his lawyer thought he was guilty!
@a publick Domain the last video he did, the plumber asked the 911 operator (don’t know what the actual number is in Canada but you know what I mean) how their day was before, reporting to them that they were pulling flesh out of the pipes.... can’t get nicer then that.... “hey, yeah hope your days going great, anything I can help with, oh btw yeah we’re doing some plumbing and we found some flesh, yeah don’t want to worry or both you to much, yeah take your time don’t worry about it, whatever works for you” (wasn’t word for word but he was saying something along those lines) 😂😂
Is it me or if you listen carefully at 18:41-18:43 it sounds like he says “be quiet”. It’s very sad to think if she was still alive when he was talking to 911.
Sorry Netflix, but Mike and *'That Chapter'* must be watched before your new series about David Berkowitz! At least that's what Harvey, my neighbor Sam's black Labrador told me to say. 😂

That 911 call and him saying "cheating whore" was a stretch to say the least. It's so muffled, you hear what you want to hear. First time through I thought he said "turn over"...that part shouldn't have been allowed by the judge
Watched another video and it was brought up that he might've said she's so cold. I don't know though. It does seem like a stretch if that's what the jury based their decision on. Hardly seems like beyond a reasonable doubt to me.
I think you’re right, it’s strange the judge would let that in. Like others have said, you hear what you’re told to hear. Not cool. I have no idea what he said and the prosecution reaaallly came out swingin with that, taking the jury along for the ride. Don’t get me wrong I’m leaning towards he absolutely probably did this.
At work today my boss asked me if I was ready to shingle a roof, and I said, "let's give it a go". Its official, you have, in a way,, made your way into my everyday life.
Hi from Finland! I have no idea where this Mike came up so suddenly, but i am hooked big time! I love his sarcasm and style in every way, he makes me laugh in middle of these really horrible stories, saving me from all sorts of nightmares.
Because you can hear he was pretending to blow air into her while blowing into the air. Dupers delight all over his face because saps believed he was trying to save her. He's right where he belongs.
Watched a video from two years ago and Mike was so shy and reserved 😂 Now he's much more comfortable and he's making all kinds of facial expressions LOL. I guess his success made him more confident.
Humans have something similar to pareidolia with sound as well apophenia, if you want to hear something that is not clear, you can almost always hear it or something. Our brains search for meaning, we have no choice in that. Even when none can be found, we will find it.
It can be heard several different ways. I believe he was doing CPR at the time, wasn't he? People don't always realize how intense that is. You get tired VERY fast, and there's a reason his breathing was so rough. "Whore" was probably something like him trying to count "four" and such, but he was exhausted already at that point.
Haha, at 14:55 Todd's lawyer says: "I believe you will find that not only at the end of this case that there's a reasonable doubt about Mr. Mullis's guilt, but that there's no doubt at all."
Or giving away their deepest beliefs, thoughts, political leanings etc. to Google, Facebook, NSA and others.. of course there are ways around it but most are too lazy or tech ignorant.

I love mike and this show so much . But because I’ve watched every episode twice I now will stay single and never get married because I never want to get murdered . And I’ll never take an insurance policy out on myself.
I'm not really sure either Joan I had the feeling that Mike even had some questions if there was enough evidence to find him guilty. I'm surprised that the prosecutor was allowed to plant I'm saying go to hell you filthy whore in the jury's mind. It really was unclear. How stupid would someone have to be to even say that under their breath when they were in the middle of a 911 call. I think I'm going to try and find the trial and give it a watch. Thanks for your thoughts.
Ok, as a retired gardener, I know how lethal gardening tools can be! Lawn mowers...Ouch! Weed whackers...Messy! Rakes...Fuggetaboutit! But corn forks? I'm sure they're just as medieval as hedge trimmers. Thanks Mike. You gave me a legit excuse to hold off on cleaning the apartment.

That prosecuter thinks she's in drama class or something.. These trials seem like such a circus to me, it doesnt even seem to be about convicting the right person, but more about "winning" a case. They just play mind games to manipulate the jury. What a mess...
I do agree, I thought that the system was innocent until proven guilty, but at the start of the trial she says "you will he sharing the courtroom with her killer, this man" Like... aren't they not allowed to call him that until after he is convicted?
@@jk7713 Well, while you’re statement would be true in normal circumstances, at the onset of an investigation, in this case you’re completely overlooking the elephant 🐘 in the room, who by the ways, $hit you’ve stepped in countless times, and that putrid smell?!, thats from that very same elephant! I hate the whole "what did he say" thing where you can't actually hear anything until someone points out a sentence. To me it sounds like "there's not way" but you can put almost any sentence into that and you'll hear it
I couldn't hear what he said, but the prosecution kept repeating what they thought they heard so much, that it made my mind hear it too. That's why I have doubt. Not saying he's innocent. I'm just saying that there's not enough evidence for me to say he's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Soooo... No one looked into Jerry’s wife? Jerry was outta town but where was his wife? And from what mike said Todd went to ask Jerrys wife what was up, then after could have started her own research and found out it’s true (did seem like they where hiding it well).
Jerry wasn't even really out of town he was at home watching a football game with his son it just so happened his house is about 45 minutes away.. from what I read elsewhere they didn't even look at the wife.
The prosecutor playing the chest compressions reminded me of those EVP/white-noise shows where the “ghosthunter” tries to convince the audience a recording of a bunch of static is a spirit communicating a secret message
It wasn't about anyone who might have wanted to hurt her. The property was huge. No one would have known that her husband sent her to that barn to grab something by herself. The odds of someone stumbling upon that barn and noticing her, and having motive and desire to kill her at the moment, is far less believable than what the prosecution alleged. Like, it doesn't even give reasonable doubt. Anyone can have motive, but yeah, just her husband had opportunity. It also could have been an accident. But not sure why or how you would fall on a rake twice. Especially where her injuries were.
I feel that with each video Mike makes, his request for us to take care of ourselves becomes more and more pleading. He has covered some of the strangest and most brutal and senseless of murders... And just the sheer awareness of our own mortality... He truly cares, not only for the victims he talks about, but for his viewers as well, and I respect the hell out of him for that.
I'm only 3 minutes or so in but that 911 call was HARRIBLE. My wife is about to die but sorry about my language. Really? And those "C'mons" at the end sounded more angry than desperate.
People are quick to judge when they're not in the situation. You can't just tell someone how to react or feel when they're in a stressful situation. We have a different approach to everything new to us.
I think it is difficult to know exactly how someone is supposed to talk when their wife is dead with a rake sticking out of her. I try not to conclude too much from “he sounded wrong.” There is usually plenty of real evidence in these matters.
Pro Tip - if your partner is unhappy with the relationship, forcing them to spend every moment with you at home, is a great way to force them to leave.
@@dgarrard100 it’s actually mind boggling that if someone is cheating, and that’s the reason for the divorce it doesn’t effect how the courts split the assets. It should, but it doesn’t.

I watched Bailey Sarian’s version of this story as well. She said some other things that kinda makes you question if the son did it and the dad just covered for him. He would have been the only other person that would have known that she was in the red barn, and the search for Aztec cheating wives also kinda hint toward the son because the Aztecs are commonly taught in school. Which more than likely would be fresh on a child’s mind, compared to an adults.
Omg someone else has been doing their research. I agree I think it was the son, why was he not asked what his take on his mom having two affairs, sons are so attached to their moms maybe he did not mean to but things may have just got out of control in that barn words and if she could have two affairs how could she when she was being portrayed as a slave and no freedom sorry I think the dad covered up and thought he would not be found guilty
I swear all these murder mystery housewives would all make horrible jurors. Every time there is a clear cut suspect for who did it they come out of no where with the most ridiculous person who could have done it and then continue to bend their minds and facts to fit their crazy hypothesis. This why Casey Anthony and OJ get away scott free
I mean if I was afraid my husband was gonna kill me because he might catching me having another affair I would probably not have another affair and divorce him instead of just keep cheating on him
Unfortunately when kids are involved, it's not that easy. She could have been thinking about them and what a divorce could do to their mentality.... but I agree. Staying in a Toxic relationship just isn't good for anyone involved.
Well she started banging the first guy she could get her hands on and wanted to take half her husbands farm. I'm not exactly feeling a load of sympathy for her.
@@natsarimthings3147 Same goes for slavery. When slavery was legal, it wasn't anyone's job to help them or free them. Doing so was against the law. @@TheChristianNomad the fact that you don't understand the UK court system doesn't mean they just make stuff up. It just means you refuse to learn how it works.

@Jav Mar "You're always gonna have problems lifting a body in one piece. Apparently the best thing to do is cut up a corpse into six pieces and pile it all together. [...] And when you got your six pieces, you gotta get rid of them, because it's no good leaving it in the deep freeze for your mum to discover, now is it? Then I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies' digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don't want to go sievin' through pig s**t, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, 'as greedy as a pig'"~ Brick Top, on how to dispose of a corpse, from the Guy Ritchie movie, "Snatch"
Yah if he was only 45 minutes away and there was no solid time of the incident then I don't know how they cleared him, it was probably the husband though after those Google searches.
I watched another video that had a lot more information on the case. He was cleared by his son who he was supposedly watching a football game with at home. He also had a wife who he was cheating on with the victim. What I understand they didn't even look into her...
@@sunshine3914 when police interviewed him he said the affair was not that serious, however according to the victim (supposedly) she said was going to leave her husband and they were going to get married. @Sean john She was having affairs because he was impotent. She tried to get him help but it obviously didn't work. You're right though she should have left the psycho control freak and found a real man who could satisfy her before he killed her.
He 100% was saying "one two three four"... come on. "Cheating whore"? Really? He was literally giving her CPR. He was counting the compressions. Pretty sure he did kill her, the cameras being off and the searches are pretty good indications. But they were really reaching with the whole whisper thing. The dude isn't THAT stupid to say that over a call with the police on the line.
the whispers sounded frantic imo, like he was trying and failing to stay composed. someone above mentioned that it sounded like he was counting while doing CPR. "one, two, three, four", which kind of cements my theory that he was in a state of panic. whatever the case may be, those recordings should not have been permissible to use. the prosecutor is legit just zak bagans larping as a lawyer.

Todd did it
I'm with you, I think there is reasonable doubt for sure.
I thought about that scenario, as well.
He should have searched - "How do I Todd Mullis kill my cheating wife with a corn fork and get away with it"

the prosecutor sounded like a ghost hunter trying to make the jury believe he was saying anything during that 911 call, it was way too muffled to understand
It's SUCH a stretch to make it into "whore" when he's counting. I mean, the most likely thing is that he's muttering "four." Pretty much everyone counts out loud while doing CPR.
I heard "whore' first time around.
That was about as clear as my old vinyl albums being spun backwards
I thought he MIGHT HAVE said "cheating whore", but I didn't hear the "go to hell" in the second audio exmaple, before he apparently says "cheating whore" again. Whilst he's obviously guilty, it's most likely him saying "1,2,3,4"
Who does chest compressions while on the phone?
This case is a a true testimony to "Your case is as good as your lawyer" The defense looked completely bored and disinterested
it was too obvious he did it
@@cayleemc i disagree. Their is more showing he didn't do it than he did. His kid backed up his story and its not a far fetch that if she fell on a pitch fork, pried herself off, and fell back on it due to passing out is likely to be what happened.
@@ufarkingicehole I agree. I feel he has been wrongly convicted. Just my opinion.

He would be at 10 million if only he would annoy all his viewers with incessant begging

That poor kid having to find his mum with a corn rake in her back. That sounds traumatizing.

She cheated on him with 2 different men, was gonna divorce him and take all his stuff through absolutely no fault of his own. Not justifying murder but this guy isn't as bad as the rest, he's a broken man and should spend the rest of his life in prison but let's face it she drove him.
@@bobharmon8834 DUDE! What in the actual f*CK are you saying? Yes she may have cheated on him but do you know that he was a saint first hand, or are you just projecting here? That's a slippery slope justifying any type of abuse, much less murder! Yikes!
She had a lot more info that points to it being very difficult for the dad to have killed her as well
I swear all these murder mystery housewives would all make horrible jurors. Every time there is a clear cut suspect for who did it they come out of no where with the most ridiculous person who could have done it and then continue to bend their minds and facts to fit their crazy hypothesis. @@natsarimthings3147 Same goes for slavery. When slavery was legal, it wasn't anyone's job to help them or free them. Doing so was against the law. "Be weary of any man who keeps a pig farm." - Brick Top
Ahh one of my favorites ☺
I'm wary of any man who can quote Brick Top 😊
@Jav Mar Brick Top is your nemesis
@Jav Mar You gotta watch the movie 'Snatch'......that's a Bricktop!
