    After your video last month Paul, I thought this update was flocking brilliant! 😀 Very realistic. 👍

    Hi Paul, great to see you mastered the flocking this time. Very informative and interesting video. The enjoyment of this hobby is "getting there in the end". I'm on year 6, of Chartwell Junction and not started scenery yet!! Due to numerous, huge, layout changes. As you advise, you cannot beat research and going back to "square one" when you need too. Regards Malcolm

    That's a flocking good job you made of that Paul, you've flocked it good and proper this time, well done. I empathise with you, getting infected with COVID-19. I've recently come out of it myself, it knocks you around for a while. Good to see you're feeling better now. Cheers.

    Hello Paul, hope you're well now. Is there a reason for not drying the dirt in an oven or microwave? Cheers, Nick

    • @colintaylor8499
      @colintaylor8499 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nick. I always use microwave for drying dirt, always worked fine for me - it also kills any micro bugs.

    • @Sandlingjunction
      @Sandlingjunction  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A wife and possible divorce lol, i could do that, id worry of any metals unseen in the dirt in a microwave, i maybe over thinking that , cheers P

    Great info on how to make my own Flock tufts. Never had any problems with Static Grass. The Answer with the static probe is probably the main problem. Good result this time though - hope it works out like this all across the layout. Glad you're over the Covid, Mate. I haven't been unlucky so far, even though I work as a supervisor in a shop. Fingers crossed (and all other extremities!) So, Stay safe and best wishes -
    Alan

    Hi.
    So can I ask are you putting neat pva on then the scatter then 50 50 pva and glue, is that because you are using flock grass
    Cheers
    Mick

    • @Sandlingjunction
      @Sandlingjunction  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am using neat mod podge for the earth scatter and then again for the static grasses and 50/50 as a spray to seal down any additional scatters etc laid before and after the grasses, cheers P

    It's only my opinion .... but the natural sound your trains make running over your layout, sounds far better than any DCC sound system I've heard.
    I'm not convinced of the realism DCC is meant to convey. If anything DCC sound makes it seem a bit like "toy trains", the opposite of what it is trying to achieve.

    What an excellent instructive Video, I’ve seen Copydex Glue used, namely by Charlie Bishop, of Chadwick Model Railways, would that fulfill the same Function as Mod Podge? Thanks for sharing.

    • @Sandlingjunction
      @Sandlingjunction  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really in this case Peter, I use Copydex like Charlie, for scenices use PVA or Mod Podge, cheers P
