Billy might wanna get exhaust covers for the s10 when under the addition behind the shop so nothing or critters will fall down in the turbos and cause issues. Just a thought
I got the start of your merch line SRC garage coveralls. Yup I'd buy them in a flash. Hats also. My gramps wore THOSE things every day his life. By the way my granny rebuilt engines, she took off a carb from a old lawnmower and said you rebuild that carburetor you can rebuild the rest if them just attention to what goes where, a day later that old Toro lawnmower had been rebuilt and cutting grass, funny part about it she made the head gasket. Outta cardboard and copper sheet. That thing ran don't know about now but after I got it back together. It ironic she said now you can cut that knee high grass along the garden. Glad she lived in my life miss her everyday. And a. Few others that have passed. Up until about 5 year's ago I could build engine's, still can but my body is broken. But man even T's. Or hoody wit your old 55 or your dump truck or your flatbed wit your two turd barrels on them would be some cool stuff. Or even your RC's on them be cool breeze, your family is very down to earth. It reminds me of my granny side if family.
It is really good that Billy has taken on the job of building an exhaust system for the Malibu. Once he has done it he will know that is now a skill that he has now that can be used in future projects. Great content Bill as always, thanks for sharing. God bless you and your family.

get Billy some rubber stops that fit into the ends up the pipes and a tee on his argon gauge so he can back purge the stainless as he welds it, makes for a much stronger weld, less chance of sugaring, porosity, and can usually weld with less heat and filler rod. the fabricator series has some great vids on 304 stainless welding. looks like he is off to a good start.
I myself am just so so thankful that you have jumped in here ( the public forum) and are showing EVERYONE that there is still down home family values and technical knowledge being shown to kids these days and i hope that this really takes off and more kids wake up and realize that getting their hands dirty can be great fun AND also pretty profitable too, MY dad grew us boys into our respectful careers and grew us into a 30 year family business which was very good until my dad passed and my mom picked the wrong kid to put in charge

Think billy mite not be using stainless rod or 100% argon is why there more grey but it’s about learning and the pride in doing it yourself
Sugaring the inside is what causes that especially on thin wall stainless. Y connector and a little purge inside makes life easier.
A little solar flux paste on the back side of the joint will keep the weld clean with no plumbing and argon needed

Stainless exhaust is seems to have more of a crisp sound then aluminized. Remember to remove the insulation from the hood so your carb won't choke.

get Billy some rubber stops that fit into the ends up the pipes and a tee on his argon gauge so he can back purge the stainless as he welds it, makes for a much stronger weld, less chance of sugaring, porosity, and can usually weld with less heat and filler rod. the fabricator series has some great vids on 304 stainless welding. looks like he is off to a good start.

I myself am just so so thankful that you have jumped in here ( the public forum) and are showing EVERYONE that there is still down home family values and technical knowledge being shown to kids these days and i hope that this really takes off and more kids wake up and realize that getting their hands dirty can be great fun AND also pretty profitable too, MY dad grew us boys into our respectful careers and grew us into a 30 year family business which was very good until my dad passed and my mom picked the wrong kid to put in charge
