I passed my test on Sunday, thanks to your encouragement. I agree it was appropriately difficult. Not ever having used QBO, I studied and tested after each section. I probably spent 7 hours on Saturday and another 4 on Sunday. Had to retake one section. Happy to have the ProAdvisor certification but just as happy to know more about the software.
Wow, that's awesome!! Congrats! Good for you for just powering through and getting it done. 👏 What's next on your list? Do you have a business currently?
I appreciate that they only make you retake the sections that were missed, but really don't like that they don't at least tell you what you got wrong in that section. I'm taking the ProAdvisor Certification exam and have passed everything but 1 section - which I've now used two attempts on. Kind of scared to try my 3rd attempt because it would be really disheartening to think I'd have to wait 60 days to take the whole thing again (I've been putting so many hours into studying this). I have used google and looked up related articles and still feel so confident in my answers to this one section, just for it to come back and not be correct. It's really striking my confidence because I feel so certain of the correctness of my responses. I will give myself a few days, revisit the modules - again - and try my 3rd attempt. Fingers crossed.

All in All, I found it to be a very user friendly test. ****Also, this is just *my* opinion but I would finish each section as I finished the modular**** So lets say Section one contains info from the first modular. There are now only 6 sections on the test, so they no longer correspond 1:1 with the prep sections. Unfortunately if you do not have access to your firm's books, there are some questions you may not be able to answer. I just started a job (think peon) and they want me to pass this without access to the admin portions of QBO Accountant. Struggling! And - it now tells you your % score for each section, and you must pass EACH SECTION with 80% or higher. You must pass all sections within 3 tries or wait 60 days to start all over.
You're awesome! Thanks for the info. I followed your advice and took the exam after each section. I just passed the exam on the first try. Overall, I would say that the ProAdvisor certification is mostly about understanding the QBO software. If you don't know about bookkeeping, this is not going to teach you everything you need to know. Get some books, take some classes. I thought that the modules are sometimes glitchy, I couldn't see the videos at all using the Firefox browser and even when using Chrome, sometimes I would see the step by step next to the video, sometimes I would only see the first couple steps. Just passed mine yesterday, thank you so much for your guidance this channel has been so helpful. I'm also trying to start a bookkeeping business but I'm still unclear how to do certain things like what a bookkeeper's role is as far as taxes and payroll. I'm also curious on how I would do books for special businesses such as construction, medical offices, inventory heavy businesses, or somebody who uses lots of contractors. I am also still unclear on how much bookkeeping you actually do? For example does your client do all his invoices and input all his transactions with your guidance, or are you the one that purely does all of that?
Congrats on passing the test!! All good questions & maybe too long to answer here. :) Basically, you can pick your clients based on simplicity + you will learn something from each client...you don't need to know everything about each industry. You need a different license to to taxes, so I'd wait on that. Payroll I learned from lots of training videos on YT (I don't do manual payroll). Invoice workflow varies greatly depending on the client. Usually, I would get info (hours, client names) from and online source where my client entered info, and I would make invoices (Excel would also work). I will save your questions as topics for future videos!!
FinePoints Thank you so much that helps a ton, I just filed a fbn with my county and I’m about to publish my website. I’ll be patiently awaiting your new videos (:
I have a silly question, I’m starting my own bookkeeper business, I would like to take the test and all that fun stuff. But what type of quickbook is this you have or what I need to get? Is this a business one? Thanks
Hi Autumn! I'd recommend getting started with QuickBooks Proadvisor training. I'll link that below, along with a video about types of certifications... certification: th-cam.com/video/RTy6ayRF6mc/w-d-xo.html training: th-cam.com/video/H90PyiBJ8Kw/w-d-xo.html
Hey I maybe I should ask you. So I just took the first section of the quick books online exam and it has a green check Mark next to it. And you need an 80 percent or higher to pass. Does it grade your overall score throughout all the sections? Or does it grade each individual section, because it looks like there are five sections total. If you could get back to me that would be appreciated, thank you.
How much time do you recommend to give myself to take a module test? I have 45-mns to 1hr in the morning before work to focus. Is that enough time to take my time for one test per day?
Hi! Thank you for sharing these information! Very helpful :) I'm a little confused about this test. Because it says in the beginning if you can't say 'yes' to all certain questions that they ask, is because you are not ready to take the test yet, and one of the questions was about have experience in Bookkeeping, and I don't, I'm just looking into it right now, and doing the free courses that they offer. I'm trying to study every day. They also have other questions I couldn't say yes to, I just don't remember now what they are. So, does that mean I can't even take this test until I start working with clients and getting more experience? From your video, I can kinda tell I would've to have, just because having clients allow you to have access through the whole software (I'm assuming), so you can use that tool to seek for the answers, but in my case, without a client I don't think I can navigate as freely as you can, or can I? Thanks you for your time.
Hi! I don't remember exactly those questions about being ready. But, I have a feeling that they just want to make sure you are somewhat serious about the career before you get in too deep. I think it's fine to take the test regardless--otherwise, how will you learn? You can get experience little by little by volunteering for friends' small businesses or doing your own books. I think the qbo exam is a great first step!
@@FinePointsBookkeeping thank you so much for such a quick reply! I wasn't even sure I could do my own books there. I'm just navigating through the training area right now. Is there a area in quick books that we can just have a training sample (of a client) to play around? You know what I mean? Thank you again for getting back to me! :) God bless you

Very helpful thank you!!
Hi,
I am doing pro advisor training. I need to know that how can i give exam for that. Also is it one time exam after completing all 8 modules or i can give exam after completing each module? And where the exam option will be available?? I am really confused and need ur help
Which quick books software do you recommend? I’m starting up new and your videos have been helpful
I use Plus mostly for clients. And, QBOA for my business (as I mentioned here). :)
Hi, I am new to qbo, how can I download the program? On my phone or on my laptop?
Thanks.
Thank you for your video.
I'm between test sections.
When you said automatically set classes into your bank feed. It was a different language right there. I have lots of learning to do

Is it fine to take each section like within 8 days 1 section per day until completed?
Thanks
Hi! I'd recommend bookkeepers get QuickBooks Online Accountant. It's free to sign up and you only pay when you have clients using it.
I'm interested in learning bookkeeping and QuickBooks. What low cost suggestions do you have to learn both so I can start a bookkeeping business?
Hi Autumn! I'd recommend getting started with QuickBooks Proadvisor training. I'll link that below, along with a video about types of certifications...

Planning on taking the test what the hardest part
Hey I maybe I should ask you. So I just took the first section of the quick books online exam and it has a green check Mark next to it. And you need an 80 percent or higher to pass. Does it grade your overall score throughout all the sections? Or does it grade each individual section, because it looks like there are five sections total. If you could get back to me that would be appreciated, thank you.
I think that green checkmark just means that you completed it, not that you passed. (fingers crossed!) How did you do?
Omg this text is so hard, l did the first try and l fell and l feel like very nervios plz need an idea how pass or any suggestions...
I love your channel!
Is the training is free of charge?
How long have to wait to get certification after the training?
Yes, free. It's immediate after you pass the test
can you tell me where to start this exam?
How much time do you recommend to give myself to take a module test? I have 45-mns to 1hr in the morning before work to focus. Is that enough time to take my time for one test per day?
I think so! I find the estimates to be a bit long for me. You can always do a section and them stop (it saves).
Hi! Thank you for sharing these information! Very helpful :)
I'm a little confused about this test.
:) God bless you
@@tashiloira Yeah! Go to settings (the gear) then sample company. Good luck! :)
@@FinePointsBookkeeping Awesome! I found it. thank you so much, what a blessing you are!
Hi! With the Certification can you do a module and then take the section from the exam that corresponds? Or do you have to take the test after completing all the modules? Hope this makes sense.
You can do one at a time!
@@FinePointsBookkeeping thank you! I am going to be taking the exam soon... I only see that there is six sections (for the exam) now, not eight. I don’t know if I should go about taking the section after each module anymore. Do you know anything about this?
@@alyssariggins9842 hey I had the same problem. This whole time I was think 8 exam sections for 8 modules bit was a bit surprised when I saw just 6 sections for exam. I tried calling customer service they said this is the updated training for QB. So it is what it is. I am planning to do this certification test. If you have already done it, can you pass me some tips or atleast share your experience.
@@savy7759 I would do it through the webinar so you can get the PDF’s for the modules and you can use them during the exam.
@@alyssariggins9842 Now Each section contains a combination of questions related all modules, but before exam pattern was Each module was each exam section, so you observe this now only 6modules is there..but not 8modules
Got my pro advisor certificate today, thanks for motivation! @finepoints
Whoo hoo!! Nice work! Congrats.
QB certification - accountants copy?
Hi, not sure what you mean--let me know what your question is!
haven't sat for the QBO Proadvisor exam yet. Is it timed?
Not timed!
Can someone help me to this question?
What is the default filter that is automatically applied when reconciling an account in the reconciliation dashboard?
a.cleared status
b.Memo
c.Reference number
d.Payee
e.Date
f.Amount
Do you also offer the training. I have 20 years using QB Pro, can I take exam now
I have class about how to start your bookkeeping business, but it doesn't have QB training. :) finepoints.teachable.com/p/bookkeeper-business-coach
Can u recommend me best books or videos to learn BK? Plz
The test now gives you an opportunity for four exams. If you don’t pass it on the fourth you have to wait a whole year.
Thank you so much for the updates!! It's amazing how quickly things change.
Can you take a section and close out and then come back the next day and restart at the same place?
Yes!

Hmm, I'm not sure what is most common there.
What means of training.
Can u recommend me best vid or books to master bk plz?
Modules are taking me 2 to 5x the estimated time depending on the module
Good to know! I'm sure it varies for everyone depending on their thoroughness and study skills.
I started and it is so hard
You've got this! Have you done any bookkeeping previously?
Does Bookkeeping Business need QuickBooks Pro Advisor certificate??
Nope, it's not required.
Do you have an Instagram? I’m wanting to get into bookkeeping myself!
How much fee for QBO certification
Its free…
Hi! Is this open book?
Hi Rachel. I guess in a way it is. You take it on your computer and can have whatever resources you need with you.

Can u help me to provide me certificate QuickBooks
How long did it take to get your results?
You get them instantly! :)
@@FinePointsBookkeeping So are you saying if I take & submit one section, it will tell me right away? My first section just says "submitted". Does that mean I did not pass the sec tion?
Hello, I am taking pro advisor training now days. If I go to give an exam after each module where do I find exam button ( I don’t see it I am on introduction part module 5 and I haven’t seen exam questions all I see is regular quiz). Also if I don’t pass in particular module quiz how many times will they allow to try if I fail?

Hi Morgan. I've done the training but been putting off the exam due to difficulty in setting aside time. Encouraged now to go for it as it's not that demanding, considering I've done the training. 💪🏾
