13:00 I am a native speaker. For question 9 in level 2, both B and C are correct phrases that mean different things. B means that she played soccer in the past, and C means that she was more attuned to playing soccer in the past (with the implication that now, she's rusty and out of practice).
You could definitely see either used. For example, if someone was talking about how Bridget was getting back into soccer, but is a bit rusty now. You could say C. Technically you could use A in the right context, but I would hope that it would be a story about some kind of ball named Bridget. 😅

We use english so much that even if you don't know english that good you can easily answer option questions because of phonetic memory. But if we (non native speakers) were given a test that relied more on only what we know (without options that can make it easier) we'd not get a score that's as good on a test like this one for sure.
I'm a native speaker, and even I got some of these questions wrong. I've heard native English speakers say some of the wrong answers in real life. If you're at a level where you can say these phrases in a quick manner, even if it's not entirely grammatically correct, it will, most likely, still be understood. In my opinion, if you can communicate with someone, your speaking is good. Sorry that English is so confusing! If I wasn't a native speaker, I definitely would not want to have to learn English.

My mother tongue isn’t English but I grew up in Canada since I was a kid so English has become my “second mother tongue”. I got all correct. What inspires me is the explanation. As someone whose English is their mother tongue (or fluent like a native), we just know how to say it but never really understand why and how certain sentences comprehend. In Canada we don’t specifically learn grammar in school, everything kinda just comes naturally, as with all mother tongues. Also, to those who are English learners, idioms aren’t something we’d use everyday, so if you don’t get them all correct don’t be upset.

Having recently settled in the UK, I've completed an American English Language Program back in my home country, reaching an upper intermediate level. Despite achieving 30 correct answers, I deeply appreciate the effectiveness of your video, which provided invaluable tutelage throughout. Thank you for crafting such insightful educational content.
For question 7, C is also correct, albeit quite specific. Imagine a narrator saying: The Smith family live on Monopoly Street. Last week, their neighbors left the street for greener pastures. John and Jane, the new tenants, would have arrived on Wednesday if not for the storm. Therefore, the new neighbors moved in some other day. (probably more appropriate to say "The new neighbors moved in ON another day" in that case)
Upon contemplation of this assessment, it becomes conspicuously evident that the command of the English language stands as a quintessential emblem of intellectual acumen. Attaining a flawless score not only signifies aptitude but also bespeaks a profound comprehension of the intricate nuances inherent within linguistic structures. It stands as a testament to the assiduous refinement of one's cognitive faculties, encapsulating erudition in its purest form. Within this domain, one ascends beyond the banalities of ordinary discourse, positioned atop the zenith of linguistic proficiency. Yet, amidst this accolade, there lingers a faint whisper of desire, a subtle yearning for an even greater challenge, an acknowledgment that perhaps the test could have dared to delve deeper into the realms of complexity, further nurturing the appetite for linguistic exploration and mastery. Such an accomplishment not only accentuates individual eminence but also assumes the mantle of a guiding light, illuminating the trajectory for others to aspire toward linguistic excellence. But let's not forget the quirks of the English language that keep us on our toes-like the infamous "i before e except after c" rule, which seems to have more exceptions than adherents! Ah, English, the language where "ghoti" can be pronounced as "fish" if you twist your tongue just right. Truly, mastering English is like solving a puzzle where the pieces sometimes seem to have a mind of their own. Yet, for those brave enough to venture forth, the journey is as rewarding as it is amusing!🍒
The answer of question 3 in level 3 can also be option B depending on the meaning of the sentence i guess. Like after visiting Germany she had also travelled to more than 35 countries? On the other hand, option A says her country count will be more than 35 after her trip to Germany
Oh my god i can't believe it I'm in middle two and i found my standard is B2 i love this kind of videos , don't stop sending more. I'm from Egypt. Thank you so much ❤️❤
As a non-native English speaker, I'm pretty content with the result I got (C1 Advance). I scored 10/10 on beginners level, 9/10 on intermediate, and 8/10 on the advanced one.
Taking this test I am at C2 level (9/10) but taking exams from British teachers, I am at B2 level (8/10). British teachers ask questions about adjective and adverbial negative inversions, cleft sentences, subjunctive mood, antonyms, and a combination of all conditionals, very tough indeed! Thank you for encouraging me to keep on going with my English skills.

As a native Romanian speaker I (romance language) I can say that English is easier to learn than Spanish French etc.

Dear Brian, I just finished your "English Level "Test this morning (Friday, July 19,2024) _and I scored 30/30! SUPERB! Thanks for
your help! Larry Carroll😃😇🤩🤓❤💯
Hey, great work, Larry!!
Im really proud to say that I'm a non- native english speaker and got past everything with ease
As someone whos from Britain this helped alot thank you.
I was unsure of 2 items on the B level but I got everything on the C level perfectly. Most likely a result of having learnt English passively from the internet, lol.
Same i got all right on level C but 4 mistake on level B 😂 now I’m confused which one I am
Same here 😅 but that because my grammar skills been spoiled with classic school education (I think that was 1 month learning/9 grades of school, when they couldn't hire any teacher)
Me too I got 7/10 in the first test but then got 9/10 for the second and the third test lol
I got only 1 wrong on b test also i learned english same way lol
Your english is perfect
Thank goodness I am at C2 level native and an English teacher!!
I've just had this test and I would like to appreciate the explanations given for every option whether its the right option or not.
My score (idk why) in all of them tests was 9 , in each and every test that was in this video.
I got a B2 in my IELTS last year, and now I got a C1 in your Test. Thank you.
Very different test to compare
Oh....
B2 too.I plan to improve my English by studying IELTS.
8 out of 10 in the beginner level, 10/10 in the intermediate, and 7 out of 10 in the advanced level. English is my 3rd language.
that’s amazing
I got a C2 🎉🎉
Thank you so much Brian for the effort you put in this material.
I also do appreciate the fact that you explained all the multiple choices in detail, supported with examples, which really enhanced my understanding..
Appreciate you! 🙏🏾
Glad you found it useful!
@@BrianWilesLanguages very much useful.. Thanks 🙏🏾
I have not had my English language level assessed since I was in middle school and found your video very helpful on many levels.
Much respect from an Egyptian Sudanese subscriber ✌🏾
29/30 non native English speaker. Thank you for this. Love it. Like to challenge myself more. God bless you. ❤🎉😊
I answered 7 questions correctly in the advanced level test! and I passed the previous tests with 10 ❤
I am proud to say I aced the exam as a non-native english speaker

Samee omg 🙏😭
as a none native english speaker who barely has b2 level, i also can speak english better than my native language 😭 the power of english
btw can you give me some advice to improve my word and grammar knowledge?
You made several mistakes in your comment but it's ok, everyone makes mistakes ❤
I can't believe how simple that was!!! Wow!!! That makes me feel so smart!!!
@13:12
both b and c are correct, with different meanings of both.
Answered everything as a B1. Sorry to tell you guys, but this test is unrepresentative of the actual CEFR levels
I got C1 but I'm almost sure that I'm at B1 level lol. Anyway, at least I know what I need to study to get better
I got C2...the test was awesome...thanks for it...I got the same one when I took it from the British Council's website...
Congratulations and thank you!
Feeling more confident after this video ,as a non native speaker I did it really well, got 8/10 in the last phase .
Wow! Amazing class. My level is B1, but I`m happy to be improving it. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much!!! Very useful video!!! Greetings from Rio, Brazil!
Olha a bala
I am fluent in English, but I had been surprised about how much goes around in our brains to spit out a sentence. It just comes off naturally y'know.
I am a C1
yes
Same ;-;
I started to struggle with the intermediate level but I got 9 😂 then I got 7 with the advance ones. I guess I am between B2 - C1 .
Thanks man for the great video and the encouragement!
I didn't realize that I was s C1, after the pandemic i left my english classes as a beginner but i continued watching and listening to some content in english so i was really surprised that i got a C1 in English. This shows that by consuming daily content, even if it is an hour a day you can really learn a lot, you just have to be consistent!!
Italian student, 8 years of "studying"(Italian schools are not the best to learn languages) the basics of English (A1), 1 year studying actual English.

B1/B2 9/10
C1/C2 8/10
Non-native speaker here,
I got 27/30. The test was really helpful as it helped me to determine my english level. Your explanation made everything crystal clear. Thank you!
Thanks as an English student I loved the exam and also it helped me to know my knowledge in my level I'm B2 I'll work learning more in English and also I proud of my self cause I get this level by myself learning .❤

I got 10/10, 4/10, and 5/10. I have many things to learn.

Omg, I can't believe I got all the 30 questions right. thank you, Brian 😭
I was looking for a video to determine my level of English and this was the best video thank you Brian ❤
As a native French in 11th grade, i got 10/10 - 9/10 - 7/10.

This is obviously AI-generated. 👍
Being self-taught 🙂 I'm very proud to say that I scored 28 out of the 30 questions ✌️✌️

The answer of question 3 in level 3 can also be option B depending on the meaning of the sentence i guess. Like after visiting Germany she had also travelled to more than 35 countries? On the other hand, option A says her country count will be more than 35 after her trip to Germany

Videos like yours are a great way of testing all the knowledge you've gathered for x years of studying.
