Great stuff! I especially appreciate the following: follow you mood, no shame policy, think about the season that you're in, and remember what you're optimizing for. I worked a corporate job for 20+ years and I've carried a lot of that culture home with me. I have to often remind myself that I work for myself now, not for others.
Thanks for your inspiration, am a trainer and salesperson of QuickBooks Desktop version, aspiring book keeper, i just love the fact of working for freedom not for money
LOVE this video! I want to be a go-getter, but I'm afraid of the business owning me. This looks more like the life I want to build. And as women, there are just certain weeks when it's a bad idea to pile on the work.
Morgan, thanks for a great video. I think this is the only video I've ever watched with someone who wasn't pushing a "hustle" mode so thank you for that. I never realized that I am a "Cozy Bookkeeper" 🤣. I'm like you that my goals aren't to have a huge firm, but enough to give me the flexibility and freedom to travel. ~Kim
9:18 Select that column/those cells, then click the "123" button in the toolbar (it's next to the dollar sign, percent, etc symbols) and choose one of the date formats.
Also, if you ever want to do something and don't know where the button/menu is for it, press "Alt + /" and you can search for it (for example, "conditional formatting"). Sometimes it's the fastest way to do something anyway (minimizes mouse usage!).
I've been thinking about doing bookkeeping and came across your channel. It's got amazing videos and so easy to understand! 2 questions I do have. Do you have a separate phone for this business or do you just use your personal phone for your business? Do you need really fast typing skills? Thank you for answering my questions in advance! Have a great day!!
Thanks for reaching out with your questions! If you don't want to use your personal phone, Morgan recommends getting a Google phone number for your business. The calls will go directly to your cell phone, without having to have a second phone. Morgan also doesn't think you need to be really fast at typing, but knowing how to type is helpful. Question: My husband and I own a business. I do the books using Wave Accounting. I really like it and it's more affordable than Quickbooks. As a bookkeeper, is there a reason you choose QB over any other software? Thank you
Hi! Not really, I basically chose it because it was most common/popular and recommended to me. I think if Wave is working for you, keep using it! I have heard that more complex businesses might outgrow Wave eventually, but I haven't used it personally. :)
It's per month for QuickBooks Online. If you're a bookkeeper, get the QuickBooks Online Accountant version... that is "free" and you start paying for each client as you get them (or the client can pay). This video may help: th-cam.com/video/4f9WFu5EgKY/w-d-xo.html
Great video! I appreciate your perspective on working (not just toward) but for your own goals. Like you, my goal is also freedom over money. It has almost been a month since leaving my job to work full time for my bookkeeping business & I have been enjoying the freedom. Now, I just need to get more clients to sustain it haha. I am thankful to have your videos to help with that!
Finally someone that likes the non-hustle life!!!
Whoo hoo! We gotta stick together.

Nice! Sounds like you have a good QB base knowledge. Same w/ the freedom!

And my family always says: "Failure to plan ahead on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
haha, so true! I've seen many business owners (online) get burnt out, and that does not sound enjoyable.

Yes, love this! It's helpful when someone puts words to the philosophy we have (I felt that when I watched Deya's video). Yay for being cozy. :)

Great video. What software do you use for sending secure information?
Also in Google sheets you can go to format, number and then date.
Ahh, thank you for the Google Sheets info. Here's a video I made on sending secure info: th-cam.com/video/bSayiKdyLnM/w-d-xo.html

Morgan I have a question I’m confused on quick books pricing is it per month or per year to run a bookkeeping business?
