Michael was actually pretty good at basketball. If you watch the first dancing machine on soul train Don Carnelous is upset that the J5 beat some of his ppl and challenges them to a rematch with him now playing live on tv lol. Jackie Jackson tries to play it off but you can see in their eyes they weren't planning on losing lol. Of course not Jordan level but he could play lol

Another thing to be wary of when reacting to Michael Jackson is that a lot of people will swoop in and comment providing misinformation to discredit him, like false info on the production or who wrote the song. It's rife with MJ. People will have you believe he was like Britney Spears if you're not careful, like how she just turned up, sings then goes home. Be careful to take many comments at face value. Do some research on the song before or after the reaction.

@@JackReacts904 No problem at all Jack. I appreciate the response! Michael didn't write every song he released but he wrote/main co-wrote the vast majority, especially his most famous track. Many people do not like Michael and don't want him to hold any credit for his career or accomplishments. His legacy is being tarnished to this day and he suffered with a media-wide smear campaign from arguably the late 80s but mainly the early 90s onwards is where it got serious. Sorry for the rant, but important for you to know where Michael is concerned.

MJ meets MJ! So exciting! The NBA used this song a lot after this, as you would imagine. Great timing to upload this while the Chicago Bulls Last Dance docu series is airing on ESPN. Teddy Riley produced the song, btw, and it's on the same album as "Remember the Time."

Funny you mention how this sounds like Rhythm Nation because Michael said that and another song called The Knowledge are 2 of his favorites by Janet, and listening to that album got him interested in the New Jack Swing genre that the album helped bring into the forefront.
It was that interest that got him to contact Teddy Riley from the group Guy and ask him to help produce the Dangerous album and this track was one of the first Teddy showed Mike.

Great reaction Jack! And yes I see where you come from when this reminded you of Janet. It’s a fair point you made cuz it’s true, Mike and Janet always inspired each other with their work and they liked to switch and share ideas and create their own twist to it. They’ve always been very supportive and Mike gladly helped out in her early years. And he was probably her biggest fan cuz later on he always danced and rehearsed to his sister’s music in his dance studio, blasting her songs through his speakers! 🔥👑

This era in particular is one of his most versatile in terms of music and art and he was also one of the pioneers of the infamous New Jack swing sound with top producers like Teddy Riley!

Aw Heavy D. I miss him so much. The Overweight Lover is what he called himself! He was such a positive light in hip-hop. My fave by him is "Peaceful Journey" which sampled Heartbreak Hotel by The Jacksons. He and MJ worked so well together. I agree with the lyrics of Jam. You wouldn't expect this to be a dance hit, the way them lyrics hit. Also love the two MJ's in this iconic vid! MJ pulled a lot of heavyweights in his projects, I mean damn!

this genre is called New Jack Swing which was founded by (some say Janet Jackson) and Teddy Riley which was one of the most popular genres in the 90s. The Dangerous album where this song is on was produced by Teddy and MJ and Dangerous became the best selling New Jack Swing album in history.

But I'd also like to recommend a modern singer, Tori Kelly, and her song Language - Her vocals are killer.

LOL TRUE STORY!!! First time I put the Dangerous CD on, I didn't realize my Dad had cranked up the volume. He'd been listening to Led Zeppelin while I was out of the house, and I didn't think to check the volume when I changed them out for my hot new MJ CD. Anyway, got home - no one had ever heard the album yet - press play, and there's a HUGE explosion of glass breaking. I shrieked, hit the floor, and was looking around for the home invasion. LOL LOL

MJ has so many people in his videos and it's one of those things where if he ask someone to make an appearance, it's usually hands down a yes. He was picky with his choices and some of the people that worked with him probably didn't do many collaborations with artist. Kind of like Vincent Price and his part in the Thriller project. I can't recall him being a part of a music video like this.

Jam is FIREEEE FACTSSSS! Jordan was excited when Michael Jackson made him apart of the video and Janet borrowed a few dance moves from Michael he said Janet I could kill u lolsss bcuz it was a iconic dance routine with him and his dancers him and Janet always kept the same dancers it really hard and expensive if another artist wanted to use any of their dancers
