Bob, you did have those three choices. If you're interested in statistics, it's not a deterrent. Sure, it makes a certain kind of low-brow tickled, but, apart from that, is also prohibitively expensive. The older I get the more difficult it is to be against it - AJ Freund's parents for example - but it doesn't work.
You want to know why they say it's not a deterrent? What capital punishment (C.P.)? There has been more murders in Nashville, TN in the last 2-3 month along, (not including Chicago, LA, New York, etc), than there has been C.P. since 1950. The theory is unproven until there is C.P. for capital crimes. Since the 1950's, when C.P. existed, has the murder rate and percentages gone up or down. Au, UP; What C.P. ? Until there is C.P. for capital crimes, it is an unproven, unbiased research.
"The driver of the Honda was struck by police gunfire. Paramedics at the scene rendered aid, but the man was pronounced dead, Los Angeles County fire officials confirmed. He was booked into the Long Beach Jail for being an ex-felon in possession of firearm, and possession of a stolen vehicle. He was being held on $35,000 bail."
@@ubc1454 It's good you're thinking that way, but the issue is, is that those men were armed and could have killed an officer as well as many innocent people. Police officers are more worried about the innocent bystanders who could've been killed in that pursuit than the ex-convicts who are armed and dangerous, to be honest. Those ex-convicts chose that life for their friend, and now their friend has to pay the deadly price.
The police are tracking him by helicopter, so it is useless and dangerous to make him feel chased. All these people defending the criminal. Just say the police let him past and he ends up hitting one of your family members with the car. You would be like they had a chance to end it at the storage unit place. Use your brains.

And you think that it's ok to take his life because of it? They could have blocked him in. He went out of the way to not hit the cop car. I'm not say what he did was ok but I don't believe it's an even trade for his life. There are some stupid cops out there.

i sure it must of happened some times, but how many hours do you get on a full tank? for me i could drive about 9 hrs i think. most chases only last 10-30 min...
Ripper, you would be able to drive 9 hours doing 70-80 MPH? Not hardly. If you're using a full tank of gas in a high speed chase, you're not spending a lot of time on the city streets. Eventually you'll do what this guy did. Find a dead end. YOu will have to be on the freeway.
Love, I've seen it once. They culprits got out and ran.
I have a truck that gets 16MPG on city streets and 20 MPG on highways the range is about 400 miles on highways like 330 on city streets. they went in this video say 30 miles

Who says capital punishment doesn't work? When was the next time he did this?
but i'm sure he was a good boy
Yes, of course

@@johnstewart6366 real ignorant, racist prick
@@ubc1454 It's good you're thinking that way, but the issue is, is that those men were armed and could have killed an officer as well as many innocent people. Police officers are more worried about the innocent bystanders who could've been killed in that pursuit than the ex-convicts who are armed and dangerous, to be honest. Those ex-convicts chose that life for their friend, and now their friend has to pay the deadly price.
The police are tracking him by helicopter, so it is useless and dangerous to make him feel chased.
Just let him go on his way, tracked by air, and when he stops and gets out, quietly send the police to calmly arrest him.
But this senseless pursuit is causing the death-defying chase, endangering all kinds of innocent citizens.

If you have ever seen Live PD chases, even with spike strips successful, drivers will run on the flat tires til on rims and then usually crash when the car can't be controlled, but the drivers don't care. I feel sorry for the person who's car was stolen and battered up, along with any people hit.
Tires shoot back, never a good idea to shoot at rubber tires. The bullets actually bounce back at you. If you don't believe me, shoot at a tire and see for yourself, you may lose an eye.
Hitting a tire on a moving vehicle, from a moving vehicle, is almost impossible - you watched too many movies. Besides, it does not stop the vehicle.
