- A suspect was in custody after leading police on a high-speed pursuit through Southern California. During the chase, the suspect is accused of carjacking three vehicles: a minivan, a BMW sedan and a work van.
The suspect then ditched the van, made a run for it, and carjacked a second vehicle at a gas station. A short time later, the suspect made a third vehicle swap and carjacked a van at a gas station.
The pursuit finally came to an end after the suspect exited and attempted to re-enter the freeway, that's where the highway patrol officers successfully completed a PIT maneuver, crashing into and trapping the stolen van.

i blows my mind how many people leave their wallets, money, keys, or phone in their cars when they go into a store. my parents drilled into me to keep all of that on me at all times.
Righhht!! Don’t forget they kids too unfortunately😩
Really? I heard your parents left you at tne grand canyon when you were 6 😂
@@Woofwoof1929 careful, your ignorance is showing.

Reasonable, many families put some weapons in their cars.
Man this kind of feels like watching a sporting event and the news reporters are giving the play-by-play...😅😅😅
💯 -- With thousands of pursuits occurring in the _car-chase capital_ on the planet(LA).. Reporters have had ample time to refine their craft, relative to vehicle pursuits.
It's funny but sadly, that's exactly what it's become.. Something almost akin to a sporting event.😄 lol
Never, ever, ever leave your car running while pumping gas. Never leave your keys in your car. Always lock your doors, even if you're only going inside for less than a minute. I once worked at a gas station and had a customer run inside just to prepay with cash. She was not in the store for ten seconds, and in that time before she could turn back to leave, she had her purse, phone, and wallet all stolen. Just like that. It couldn't have been even a minute between her leaving and returning to her car. It happens that fast.
We had a regular of ours almost have his truck stolen. If it weren't for the fact that he had his keys on him, they would have. Always, always be cautious. The minor inconvenience is absolutely worth it.
It’s California my guy, it’s harder to steal a vehicle from GTAV. He will be out in a few days
One thing people don't know is that leaving vehicles running while refueling can damage your engine, when the cap is tight, it creates a vacuum as intended. When it's not, there is no vacuum, and can give you a check engine light. If you do it too much, you will destroy your vehicle over time
I agree the same thing. Keep your keys inside your house, keep your car locked, and don't leave your keys, vehicle unlocked.
My dad's neighbor's truck got stolen a few years ago, and he got it back.
this is exactly why whenever i need to fill up my car i make sure to keep my phone, wallet, and keys on me at all times, plus making sure my car is locked, doesn't matter how quick my trip inside the building is
Facts
I feel yah because that's exactly how mine got stolen. 😔
When I park for gas before I get out of my locked car I put a club on the wheel. Amazon sells a really nice heavy duty and padded combo lock wheel club. I can throw it on the wheel in 3 seconds. Don't care what happens your not jacking my car. Club has no key. I have one of these in all my cars. Sometimes old school is the best and easiest.
I was feeling empathy for the person that had their van stole, but then realized the van wouldn't have been stolen if the owner had the keys and/or the doors were locked. Now they can get their van back wrecked.

LA still covers chases like this? Wow feels like the 90's still
lol somethings never change...
Same era GTA 5 came out LMAOOOO!
They're so behind the times. But it's California.
Reminds me of the OJ Simpson chase years ago.
That's what I was thinking.😂
After the arrest the driver just found out he won the powerball jackpot.
I commend these policemen for their courage & patience to get the suspect ! 👏
Sometimes the CHP do things right when nowadays they often do things wrong. Thankfully this is not the latter case
I also sincerely wish those policemen can get the holidays and allowances they want.

"Viewer Discretion, for the high rates of speed." LMAO
So you're going to put a whole bunch of people's lives in danger to catch somebody with a stolen minivan
They need to learn from Arkansas State Police and take out the perps car immediately and not let them last an hour
It’s amazing how stupid people are that they leave their car running or the keys in the ignition. “But I was just going to take a second”. That’s all it takes for someone to jack your car or worse! Pull your heads out people and get some situational awareness skills.
While I wouldn't, I'm glad I live in a place where you could do that and probably never have a problem. Southern California is a disaster area. Another tumor in America's cancer
This guy in the helicopter has excellent commentary and amazing footage.
He's obnoxious - he _loves_ that there's a chase and he can barely hide his enjoyment behind his facade of concern.
He's literally saying the _most obvious_ stuff he can, without stopping - I guess stations really stress the need to fill up dead air, otherwise people like Shelly here will get bored and tune out.
@@dillis2188 Calm down 🤣🤣🤣
@@dillis2188You really think someone is gonna sit through an hour chase if it were just silent?☠️ of course he’s saying obnoxious and obvious things, he needs to keep viewers entertained so they stick around and keep watching. Views are money.
I agree with you Shelly. He is superb at his job.
I took Shelly’s comment as sarcasm 🤣
That news broadcaster is amazing. He has me glued to the TV...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
America's new favorite pastime😂😂😂😂. I need some peanuts and Crackerjacks😂😂😂. That news broadcaster is lit with the play-by-play😂😂😂😂
It's over. All's well that ends well... Gotta go find me another car jack'n vid. Y'all kno that true crime is the hot new thing now, right?😅😅😅
This is the fastest dodge caravan ever produced with a v8, 550 hp engine able to reach speeds of 200 mph
Really!!
that's why I always lock my doors when I pump gas
California has more high speed chases than I have ever seen!! Great coverage from the air!!
It's NOT a carjacking if no one is in the vehicle. If the keys are left inside and doors are unlocked that's just GRAND LARCENY. GL is just an unlawful 'taking' of property.
just unlawful taking ... what type of community do you live in ?!!?
Good Comments… haven’t Heard Larceny in Awhile!!
Stolen Vehicle- SPEEDING
Oh my GOODNESS!! Slow DOWN People!!😇😍🥰😛
More TRAFFIC… Stupid CHOICES!!!
Maybe they R Not ARMED!’n😎
Nothing about this pursuit would leave me to believe that this was a rookie driver. Where on earth did they get that from??
This is so fun to watch, always cheering for the underdog LOL
I am a little disappointed the carjacker didn't run once he got out of the van.
this is equal to a streaker outrunning slow security guards at a football game
How lucky was this guy to have a car with keys ready for him right when he stopped at the gas station
I absolutely love how when he got to the first gas station The reporter was just like "I hope he's not going to try and steal a car another car"
Only for the guy to later on..... Steal a car at another gas station 😂
Who would have known that years of playing GTA would come in handy some day.
The spike strip thing was ridiculous because I saw on a different angle, the van NEVER went over the spikes. No idea how the hell the tires were popped.
California police officers need some cross-training in Arkansas.
EXACTLY! THEY'RE RIDICULOUS! Same thing happened about 9 months ago starting in Anaheim... 3 vehicles across 2 counties for 4 hours. They let him slide by in a cup de sac in an utility van, then did a PIT at the gas station almost colliding the pumps! Finally, cops forgot who they were chasing and beat up the wrong guy caught in the crossfire, after thief stopped, who was handled with kid gloves.
ASP does not play around at all
Send in the Byrdman😎👍🫡
Might be. But what we see from Arkansas is normally pursuit on a highway in the country-side. Not in a densely populated area like L.A.!
@@fritz_von_steiner5544 ASP Does it everywhere. Is more rare in cities. But I have seen them flip cars over cars in neighborhoods. Seems they have a policy of letting the criminals know they don't care.
20:30 he just dry roasted BMW right there !!! 🤣🤣
@@RickyCfromStains "dry-roasted" is like saying "dry snitched" it's like saying something derogatory but in a questionable slick way! 🤣
Wow! that was a crazy police chase. Recommended viewing 😁👍
1st car jacking: The first vehicle he initially started with.
2nd car jacking: 20:15
3rd car jacking: 34:32
To everyone who lost their car…..serves you right
Stu you are wonderful. I enjoy listening to your coverage
This is GTA in real life 😂
I was really waiting for it to end with WASTED
If you were a kid somewhere in the world, would you assume Americans, especially from L.A., get into televised police chases from time to time? lol
I use to be a kid somewhere else in the world and I assumed that. Every time we went to the USA there were police chaces live on the TV. It still seems to me to be a matter of course this happens often in the USA.
That boy can DRIVE !!!!
The boy could drive, he's going straight. What's the big deal? stop to get some scratches
Watched the whole thing. Amazing. His speeds were outrageous...so lucky he didnt kill someone.
Most Amazing thing is he is a White Blonde Guy. Very Rare.
They should hire him for the police dept . Or FBI
He could be one hell of a driver
with california the guy probably be back on the street doing it again in a few hours with a slap on the wrist
He probably had abandonment issues and was still angry about how things went down
The “He was depraved on account of he was deprived” theory.
When I get home from the grocery store, If I have to make more than one trip to take the grocery bags inside, I lock my vehicle every time I go in. You never know who's watching you.
Bro thinks he is in GTA 🤣
He said “oops! Aww, that little mini cooper!“ 😂
Suspect decided to apply his skills in GTA5 to real world driving around the neighborhood!
3? He's trying to make a new World Record..
This was like Reno 911, they drove right past him and he got another car
Only in America could this happen.
Yo man 😂..... This dude is a GREAT driver!!! Amazing performance.
He manage to switch 3 different cars in the pursuit.. that is a GTA player !
foo got caught
Anyone want to comment on the donut jacker making an arrest 😂
She’s so rude !25:55 talking over Stu Mundel, the aerial reporter, he has good manners and stop talking while she run her motor mouth! Unbelievable!
20:19 🎵...."Here comes the hammer!!" 🎵 🤣🤣
If you get that reference you are a real one !!👍
Viewer discretion is advised because of high rates of speed?? Are you kidding me?
My guess is the advisory is due to the fact that the speeds were so high that the risk of a graphic scene due to an accident is increased.
33:45 NO, the cop hit the BMW not the other way around. Cars don't move sideways!!!
"There's only 1 driver"...LOL where do they get these reporters..bleh!!
Im by chicago and i learned at ah verrry young age to never leave your car running or keys in it at a gas station or store no matter if im takkn to someone else il always lock my doors and its became ah nice habit when i see vids like this it amazes me how careless people are.
I can't believe anybody in California especially would leave their car running while getting gas. Insurance won't cover your losses when they find out you left your keys in your vehicle.
He may have forced someone out of their vehicle, we couldn't see
I agree
The dude played too much GTA video-game series !
It's a carjacking not just someone stealing a car. That means someone was violently forced out of their vehicle.
Yes they would. Insurance covers stupidity. I have worked in insurance for over 20 years
This sounds like a race broadcast this is awesome
If you leave your keys in the car with the engine running and you walk away from your car your insurance should be null and void.
This guy is right outa Grand Theft Auto.
The problem is the laws and prosecutor. Suspect will probability get 3 years for car jacking, and not serve more than half that at most. If he car jacks the one or 3 or 10 the same 3 year sentence.
Please say that you've not doing it for such a rude person, she clearly doesn't deserves it?!
3rd pursuit today??
Excellent video!!! Well done everyone...cops, commentators...let's not forget the perp...VERY entertaining chase!!! One of the best ever!!
Tf is wrong with you. This isn't a movie. It's a line.
Excellent video, terrible chase. They should have not let him hijack another car and prolonged the pursuit
An associate axed me "I don't understand why people don't like us"
Only took them an hour to catch that joker. 😂👌 👏
The fact how he tried to make a u turn on the freeway entrance was just so stupid and was the easiest way for him to get stuck
great job by those cops! thankfully people still want to do this thankless job!
Dude can get a decent paying driving job with amazon ups fedex usps dhl uber lyft etc....with those driving skiiiillz 😂
YA BROTHA, IF HE TRIED THAT YOU OR, YOUR LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER IF THAT WAS ME, LOL
But he doesn't want to work, he'd rather steal.
Following and chasing are two completely different things. They were following, NOT chasing.
MOST places around the world would have put an end to it and suspects in custody in under 10 minutes, with an average of 7 minutes and often less. THIS was an outdated, blatantly cowardly, shameful and reckless waste of time, money and resources...putting way too many members of the public's lives at needless risk of injury or death.
The side door acted like a pillow lol
Is it me or is La turning into a milder version of the Purge?
News anchor acts like you dont get passed by Caravans doing 100+mph daily in LA.😂
Played so much GTA all these years maybe he thought it was VR GTA V
Had a coworker filling up gas just outside of D.C. and was approached by 2 guys wanting to take the van but he had on keys on him demanding the keys. He threw the keys on the gas station roof top and 2 idiots was like.....WTF???🤣
This is completely off topic but i was born in Canoga Park and raised all over the valley. I moved out of California right after the 94 Northridge quake and i can't picture a lot of those streets anymore. It's weird because i used to drive for a car company too. I know the streets, i just can't picture some of them.
A lot can happen in 20 years…
@@CountMeOut33More like 29 years.
This sure was entertaining
The trailer for grand theft auto 6 is looking really clean . Those graphics are looking more realistic than ever on the the ps5
Arkansas troopers would have pitted him ages ago and he would be on his way to jail by now. How much damage are they going to allow him to do?
It's not so easy to do a PIT in such a densely populated town! More easy on an Arkansas-Highway!
Wow Good done Officers! From Europe/ Norwega😎
Don’t blame on mental health. If this thug is able to highjack 3 vehicles then he’s not mentally ill. He’s a perfect example of blatantly disrespect of law and disgusting ignorance of decency.
some people are still almost fully functional with mental illnesses. Not all mental illnesses disable you to the point you can't do anything.
Dis RESPECT

Who would have thought a mini van could get up to 115 mph? This how I decide what vehicle to buy when I need a new one, I watch a bunch of these and the best performer gets the sale!
2 things.. first of all, why would you leave your keys in the car and risk to he locked out….. second of all, WHY WOULD YOU FILL YOUR CAR WHILE ITS STILL ON….
That’s just a way of life here in Florida, hardly anyone turns their vehicles off when fueling!
He got me at, I hope everyone took their Dramamine. 😅😂
The result of allowing criminals do whatever they want.
Because idiots allowed them to. Leave your keys in a running vehicle
@@Djwunmoshen Or...keep criminals locked in cages.

Yeah, doesn't look like a gang member at all.

Just like the concrete truck yesterday. They kept a safe distance and took their time. Pathetic.

As many chases that happen in and around road construction , I would like to see DOT train road workers proper use of spike straps and a communication beeper system alerting road workers of approaching chases ..
Glad he didn’t try to ram a police vehicle. That is the same as signing your own death warrant. Do that and they will kill you, and not lose a seconds sleep about it.
That was AWESOME!!!😮😮😮😮
Can somebody tell me why so many people in America steal cars when they know they can not get away with it…Why is that ?? Madness.
We need to know his punishment ?
He wanted to get rid of that BMW because of the flat tires
