Thanks for the info. Have a 1290s and have all 3 screens. The KTM touring screen is OK but I hate the looking through the screen and the split view on the low settings. I have gone back to the original S screen which I find best. And a clear screen for night riding is best. A notable difference is noticed with helmet worn. My Arai so noise and my Shoei so much quieter.
With the standard screen I find that the wind actually blows your head forwards and down. I get headaches. I prefer no screen at all. But I am weird I know.
How do you like the 1290 R? I am debating on getting the SAS or the R version. I have previously had an SAS, and loved it! Just want something a little more off-road biased. Do you find yourself adjusting the manual suspension often? The first thing I did to my SAS is install this screen, huge improvement, then actually added the extender and that seemed to do the trick, then powerseat, then lowered the foot pegs, perfect ergonomics.
Haven't adjusted it as the guys that Sold it to me set it for my weight. It a much better handling bike than the old model, mainly due to the lower fuel tank. I'd have to wind the rear spring preload up for when it's loaded for travelling of course.
Yes, thanks for the info. Which screen did you purchase; Touring or Touring Plus? I am 190.5cm (6'3") and would really like to get my helmet out of the wind on longer days. I am presently considering the Touring with Visor.
Try pushing it down instead of in. still sucks but works a bit more often. Even the button is shaped so that it can only pressed down instead of in as on most bikes.
@@bogdanmoisi8434 they fixed it for 2023 with the normal function everyone has experienced, well, except for that BMW left and right switch era. This should be a service bulletin and replacement.

I can't believe the roads you have to ride on compared to the UK farm tracks we have.
We have the same bike and the same screen but I have the transparent one. Great for long trips on the road.

Got the touring. I'm 182cm. And the wind does hit the top of my helmet.
So I'd think you need the taller one.
Transparent o Fumè?
Light smoke
The givi one is just slightly bigger but has a stupid givi logo in the bottom middle that looks crap
have they fixed the shit indicator switch yet
No upgrade i know of. It is rubbish though!
