  • @liveen
    @liveen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    umm, regarding the voltage, some Ender 3s, 3pros and v2s do ship with 12V outputs on certain things. So for anyone out there, if you have a multimeter, CHECK IN ADVANCE. If you don't, check the PSU and the parts the outputs lead to to make sure the voltages are right etc. So if the output says 24V and has a wire leading to the cooling fan, check the voltage on the cooling fan to make sure it actually is 24V. My Ender 3 v2 has 12 volts on some parts and 24 on others

    It would be cool if you'd also link that fan in the description- or at least cite the dimensions of the output. I'm in a tough spot because I'm applying this to a CR-10s5 which uses 12v, so I have to find something similar dimensionally & in performance but that uses 12v.

  • @StopChangingUsernamesYouTube
    @StopChangingUsernamesYouTube 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good lord, that's just nuts. I'm in the same situation with my Anycubic i3 Mega, not wanting to do much to it after putting a geared extruder at the start of the bowden tube. It's basically a stock Mega-S at this point. I thought I was printing flexibles well already (Ninjaflex technically works, but it's a nightmare for Ninjaflex reasons), but I wouldn't dream of printing that in any TPU as it is. I'm definitely keeping an eye on this now. I'd definitely be interested in seeing how a Prusa MK3S takes this, btw. I don't expect that kind of night and day difference, but it'd be a neat "just because" comparison if you have any sitting spare after you tend to the budget machines.

    It would seem the European 8mm screw length is a bit longer than the ones I can get in the US. I only get 2.5mm of the screw sticking out to thread into the Hemera and given the nut is 2.5mm and the thickness of the area of the mount is 1.5mm, there is only 1mm of thread to screw into to the nut. In other words, not enough. Is the source for the base available? I would like to either get the screws to go about .5mm deeper or shave .5mm off the face of the base so I can get the screws to engage the nut. Thanks.

    Been waiting for this to come out ever since it was announced, just one question though:
    Is the direct drive on an Ender 3 about equal to the stock extruder in terms of ringing and ghosting?
    Or could this be an issue?
    If this is an issue, would it be possible to buy the direct drive kit and simply convert it to a bowden setup with the bowden adapter?

    • @3DMakerNoob
      @3DMakerNoob  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will get more due to the added weight, however with a bit of tuning on acceleration and jerk it can be reduced or removed. Also, you can buy a bowden version :)

    • @LMSscavenjer
      @LMSscavenjer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3DMakerNoob Thanks, I should clarify that I wanted to also upgrade the hotend to the V6, so I thought about getting the direct drive as it includes the hotend while then getting the bowden insert to turn it into a bowden version while using the V6 hotend as an upgrade over the stock one.
      (I realise I can just buy the bowden version and a V6 hotend seperately, but your answer about the ghosting has reassured me that it won't be too severe with the direct drive version)

      @nirodper 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bed is way heavier anyways so the weight in your Y axis is what's limiting acceleration really

    • @LMSscavenjer
      @LMSscavenjer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nirodper True, especially now that I have the glass bed on it too.
      Still any added weight would have an impact.
