Decided to preorder the Core game and all 3 expansions. Really looks as if plenty of thought and hard work was put into this. Definitely a labor of love for sure. I find most naval-themed games to be ridiculously simplistic or insanely complicated. This one looks like it hits the sweet spot between the two extremes. Looking forward to it!

Delighted to see another one of your designs; absolutely loved B-17 Leader. Best of luck with the Kickstarter!

I backed the game and I’ll add the SSN expansion during the pledge manager. I’m really looking forward to play this game!

Just got introduced into the leader series. Having a lot of fun with it. Definitely going to pick this one up. Big fan of cold war error warfare. No more posturing! Actually get to engage can't wait.

Looks great. But I have to admit, I see the overall game structure and think, “This could form the basis for Atlantic Convoy Commander (WWII)!

Yeah... already thinking about a WW2 version. But have to get this one done first. :)

I pulled some things out of the Kickstarter. I got some feedback that the game was too complicated with the Advanced Campaigns. Plus I kinda ran out of time for the Landing expansion. Hoping to have some additional expansions down the road.

you realize that solo gaming is a very niche hobby. seriously doubt he will become a millionaire making these types of games. support if it is worth it to you. if not don’t.

He's probably put two years worth of time into this game... 20 to 30 hours per week would be a good guess. And I expect he'll earn perhaps $5,000 for all that work. If that's too much for him to be making for his effort, then I guess you're right.

    • @kosterix123

@@bgm-1961 many games take years to develop. Famous example was 1830 - which took 5 years. I know of games that took 10 years. So 2 years is nothing exceptional.
Anyway, I don't know the dude and I don't care how much he makes of it.
Don't try this guild-trip technique online, it's bad form.

@@kosterix123 Assuming you meant, "guilt trip"... Wow.... If you took what I wrote as an attempt to lay down some guilt, then you didn't get my point at all. The length of time it takes to develop a game is ENTIRELY beside the point of how much a game costs. My point was that the earnings for this game aren't going to pay the designer. So then where is the money going, if not to pay the designer? It's going to pay for development, artists, and manufacturing, etc. No one at DVG is making a lavish living off these games. It's simply the economies of scale associated with a low print run, niche game. You mentioned '1830'... I'd bet that three times as many copies of that game have been sold compared to any DVG game.
