It's the first time I'm seeing any of your content and your channel, and I have to say that I like your reviewing style. Succinct, informative, cohesive and straight to the point. You've just convinced me to get a pair of the 3030is lol
I just ordered the 3030i two days ago. Just stumbled across this video. Great stuff. Good useful information. Loved the side by side comparison. Plus with the sub. Which I’ll probably buy once I get some money squirreled away. I know this vid is two years old but found this both helpful and reassuring. Thanks for posting. Great stuff.
Ah awesome video! I was so close to locking down the 3020i when I watched this video. Now, I have the 3030i in hand and absolutely no regrets. What you said in the video is absolutely accurate.
I just found your channel and you are great. I just picked up a pair of the 3010i's. I love them, but after watching this video and a few others I should have purchased the 3030i's. I have decided to keep and be happy with the 3010i's and purchase the 3030i's as well. I have several systems throughout my house and I can never have too many speakers. I love the look of the QA products and to me the build quality seems very good. I have a problem where I fall in love with every set of speakers that I buy. I'm an addict.
After much thinking and looking at alternatives (Fyne Audio F300, Wharfedale Diamond etc) I've ordered a pair of 3020i speakers in the walnut finish (which makes a change from black!) for delivery on Thursday. They will replace my faithful (and near mint) 27 year old Mission 731 speakers - which will be kept as spares or for second system use. Look forward to hearing how things have moved on in the world of small speakers. Thank you again for your excellent review which helped me decide.
I have the 3020is and live in an apartment and they work perfectly for small living rooms without the need for a subwoofer. They are both cheaper and better than the B&W 705s.
I had a nice listen to the 3030i's recently with the idea of setting up a 5.1 system: 3030's at the front and 3010's at the rear. Was pretty impressed with them for a relatively inexpensive bookshelf speaker.
This is such a great review thank you! I’m looking at upgrading from crappy 2.1 pc system to the Q 3000i lineup (with a sub too) and been tossing up between the 3x models- based on desk space- not just price. (Probably overkill but it sets me up long term) You covered off all the questions I had- love the format of the review!
I’m considering the 3030i and the Elac B6.2. The AVR I’ve decided on is a Denon X1400h or maybe the stereo receiver DRA-800h. In this video the 3030i sounds about the same with and without the subwoofer! Great videos! Love your channel.
Excellent review as always for the Home Theater Hobbyist; you have a brilliant voice, mate. Have taken to the Q Acoustics Loudspeakers with 3050s, 3010s, & 3090C in living room, with 3020i in kitchen. All very nice, with rich detail with no apparent nasties, all pleasant to listen with a taste of audiophile sound capabilities at a reasonable price.
If size isn't an issue there seems to be no logical reason to purchase the 3010i's over the 3020i or 3030i speakers. For the budget-minded folks out there, Q Acoustics does sell open box speakers on their Ebay storefront. After speaking with the company, they stated the speakers come with the same warranty as their new speakers. I ended up paying $283.49 for a pair of 3020i's instead of the normal $314.99 price. Would love to hear your thoughts on a budget subwoofer. I'm currently using a Polk Audio PSW111 but I am thinking of adding a second unit. I just don't think my budget-minded (see also cheap) self could justify spending $500 for the Q Acoustics Q B 12 when I just purchased the 3020i's, 3090ci, and now a pair of 3030i's. Thanks for the breakdown!
@@robertorodriguez2609 I appreciate the feedback. I am of the same opinion really. I have had my eye on the Bic America F-12 which seems to have impressed a few people and is right around $200. For now, I'll likely see if anything new pops up which wows the reviewers and if not I'll get that F-12 :)
I like your reviews. I'm running a 5.1 (slowing getting to 5.1.2) system and currently use the 3020i's for my fronts and 3090ci for my centre, but my rears are the satellites from the Logitech Z906's. I was originally tossing up getting 3010i's or 3020i's for the rear, but I'm now tossing up between these three options: 1) Get a pair of 3010i's for the rears (AUD 550 / USD 360) 2) Get a second pair of 3020i's for the rears (AUD 650 / USD 430) 3) Get a pair of 3030i's for the fronts, and move my 3020i's to the rear. (AUD 990 / USD 650) I do have a small sub. Likely to be upgraded to either a PB2000, or (once I get to audition some sealed models) an SB2000 or QB12. What would your recommendation be out of these options? Would the 3030i's provide enough extra sonic fun to justify the extra (inflated here) cost? Edit: Typo
Thanks for watching! I really like the 3030i's but if you're planning to upgrade your subwoofer I'd go for a 2nd pair of 3020i for the rear and use the savings to purchase your sub. I'd choose the 3020i over the 3010i because it has a stronger mid range. Some would say that's not important in the rear channels but if you've seen Ford V. Ferrari (LeMans 66 maybe the title in AU) you'll know that having decent mid range sound in the rears is a good thing.
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist I haven't watched that but I'll look into it. Thanks for the advice! I'll keep saving and pick up another set of 3020i's. They've done a great job as fronts for me so far so I'm sure they'll be excellent as rears!
Great comparison, thank you. Currently have the 3020i's with a subwoofer, happy to stick with them for now. Eventually intend to move them into the rears and possibly get some floor standers (3050i, or whatever is their current model when the time comes) up front, but happy with what I have for now :)
I have the 3030i as my front speakers, the 3020i as my surround and the 3010i as my rear surround and the 3090i as my centre. But unfortunately have a Yamaha sub. But sounds lovely with my onkyo tr-nr646. Especially with Apple Atmos music
I have 6 3020i’s as I’m using 2 for Atmos and I’ve beefed it up a bit with a svs pb1000 that came yesterday and I couldn’t be happier! Tha Bass is unreal! Your review helped me pull the trigger on the svs and I’m a new subscriber too! Thanks 😊 🇬🇧
Excellent review.I'm not into forward (in your face)sounding speakers. So i bought a year ago Q 3030i with Yamaha a-s 501.I was very worry maybe the sound turn out to be too bright for me.Ηappily the sound is laid back. The highs are crystal but not offencive, the mids are warm and revealingly and the bass deep and strong (in my room). In some movies bass gets very low frequencies like a subwoofer! The whole room is shaking!!So i don't have to spend more money for a subwoofer. Like i said i was worry about the synergy between them but Yamaha A-S 501 proved to be a true gem.Far better speakers than wrfs 12.2.
How is the following combo for a 11ft X 16ft space (Viewing distance 11ft wall to wall) Usage: 50% Movie viewing, 30% Regular TV and 20% Songs The 3050i 5.1 Cinema Pack comprises of a pair of Q 3050i floorstanding speakers + Q 3010i bookshelf / standmount speakers + Q 3060 Subwoofer + Q 3090i Centre Clubbing with Denon AVR-2700H Which ATMOS would you recommend to go with this setup?
Hmmmm….. Atmos is a great question for that setup. I’m thinking Svs prime elevation. I haven’t tried them but their supposed to be fairly neutral so they should blend fairly well with the Q’s.
I have been using the 3000 non-i since they came to market still in my movie room With 3050 as mains, but since the centre is only 4in I went 3010 for surrounds Now that there is a 6.5in for a bookshelf I will consider getting the 3030i, but only if Q makes a centre with bigger drivers
Thanks for your review. Can you please give an advice for 5.1 system If Front Pair will be 3030i - does it have any point to get another pair for Rear channels and took the same 3030i or there is no difference and 3020i or 3010i will be enough for the rear? Thank You.
Hi! Since you have a subwoofer, I would say the 3020i would be best for side surrounds and/or rear channels. It has a stronger mid range as compared to the 3010i.
I am looking to get the q acoustic 3050i 5.1 speaker package, with a denon x3600h or x4500h amp. It comes with the 3010i as the rear speakers, is it worth upgrading them to the 3020i as the rears (only £40 extra in cost) and would it make much of a difference in sound quality?
After reading as many reviews as I could find, I went with the Denon x3600h back in February. It has performed incredibly well and has lived up to every review I found. As you'll see in many reviews, mine did run a bit warm (115-120 degrees) so I did end up adding a cooling unit from AC Infinity which dropped the temperature 25-30 degrees depending on usage. While I tend to prefer shopping locally, the price at my local Best Buy was $1099 off sale. I ended up purchasing the system through Accessories4less and got it for $849 shipped. That savings alone nearly paid for my pair of 3020i's. Good luck!
I bought this exact set up, and did indeed upgrade to the 3020i's. Listening in the shop, sounded a little fuller, and for the price difference, it made sense. don't regret it!
Just got this exact 5.1 setup 2 weeks back. I upgraded the rears to the 3020i's as the cost wasn't that much more, also got the matching Q Acoustics stands for them and they're perfection. I got the QB12 Sub too, it's properly amazing and looks insanely beautiful!
@@ConorJay What would you say the performance of the QB12 is compared to the Q3060s? I am looking to get some 3030is and a sub for another room, was wondering if the qb12 was a better option?
Hi, I have been watching again your reviews on Q Acoustics speaker (that's a good sign that you do great reveiws ;) ), and read most of the comments. It strikes me that eventually, your recommandation for a 5.1 (or 7.1) setup (so, with a sub) would be to go full 3020i, is that correct? As 3020i is really really close to 3030i, and the 3030i is also almost tie to the 3050i in your other reivew. Do you think for bigger room, bigger speaker would get an advantage? And eventually, for fun, if one go 3020i for front and rear, how about using it also in the center? It is deep but not so tall, so it could fit, and this would give you the perfect coherence in the sound stage. Between the 3020i and the 3090ci, which one has the best mids? Do you think the 3090ci, as it is specifically desinged for the center, would be the better choice anyway? Cheers!
I am curious as how Q Acoustics have the same 64hz rating for the 3020i and the 3010i given the difference in woofer size between the 2. 5 inch vs 4 inch ? Along with the larger cabinet size in the 3020 i ..
I have had the 3010's OK in a small room also I had a sub woofer so it helped, I then decided to get the 3020i a year later & did away with the subwoofer as not really needed. I think the 3030's are to big for where I need to place them also I don't think I really need them now I am happy with my lot. They are paired with a Rega planar 3 & Marantz pm6006 with Bluetooth 5 adapter. Also ps4 plays flac files so very handy for music storage.
Hi bro, please could you advice if any of these speakers are ideal for surround sound speakers. I'm currently using the Denon SCN10 bookshelf Speakers for surround and the q acoustics 3090ci as centre speaker, with svs 1000 sb subwoofer. I'm anticipating an update of surround sound speakers in the q acoustics range. Thanks
(3010i front + 3010i back + 3090ci center + 3060S Subwoofer) vs (3020i front + 3010i back + 3090ci center + 3060s subwoofer)... Which one is the best combination for 5.1 home theatre system?
Great Video Again Home Theatre Hobbyist! I Learnt Heaps! Just Finished Opening Our Presents & I Was Lucky Enough To Get A Pair Of 3020is From My Wife! I Am The Happiest Guy In The World Today! LOL! Cheers From New Zealand
Hi, thank for your video I have 3020 no "I" model and using wall mount from QAccoustic so I wonder it seems the "I" model don't have no more the possibility to use wall mount ? I was thinking to upgrade....... But ... Thank again for tutorial
I'm new to the record player game and I've been struggling to decide on some speakers. I've been going and back and forth between all three of these and your videos been great! Is there an amp you'd recommend to pair with the 3030i that costs the same as the speaker or less?
Hi, thanks for your kind thoughts, same to you. I have this question, witch amplifier do you have to listen and test. This might help me as a guideline as I do have Q acoustic and will complete for home cinema and change the av receiver I had before buying the speakers as I'm building a home cinema room and will upgrade. Thank you very much, always a pleasure listening. Be safe too.
I use a Denon AVR-x4400h as my sound processor and a Monoprice Monolith 7 channel as my amplifier. That combo powered the speakers for the audio samples.
thank you for your review, what would you suggest for my living room als rear / surround speakers? mmy living room is 42qm and i will have: 3050i (front), 3090CI (center), Arendal 1961 1V or SVS PB2000 pro as sub and denon 2800H. is the 3010 to small? better the 3020i as rear? thanks for help
Yes, I’d recommend the 3020i because it has better bass presentation so it’ll be easier to crossover at 80hz. With the 3010i the crossover probably needs to be around 100hz.
Thanks for the review. I am setting up my first home theatre, and this is what they approximately here. I intend to pair them with a 10 or 12 inch sub in my room (11*17 feet with TV at the width rather than the length). 3010i 267$, 3020i 314$(+47$) & 3030i 411$ (+97$). Would you recommend going with a pair of 3020i's at front and 3010i's at the rear? If I go with 3030i's at the front, can i delay the subwoofer purchase to spread out costs? Would a Marantz NR1510 be good enough to drive them well?
Hi! Great question! 😁 Assuming you want this setup mainly for movie watching here's my recommendation: 3020i fronts and 3010i rears/surrounds. Then get a subwoofer to handle frequencies below 80Hz or even 100Hz depending on how you want to set it up. The NR1510 can definitely drive these speakers at normal listening levels but may struggle at high volume. Per the specs it's 50 watts per channel, 2 channels driven so it may deliver less power as you add speakers. Bass reproduction is a big power draw for a receiver/amplifier so I recommend getting a subwoofer to reproduce the bass notes. It will relieve some of the power demand from the 1510 since they have their own amplification built in. Hopefully this helps.
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist Thank you. This is really helpful. I actually want to get a 7.2 av receiver, but limited by the budget, and hence thinking of NR1510. A couple of follow-up questions... 1. If I go with 3020i all around, would they be an overkill for the surrounds? 2. How do Yamaha RX-V6A pair with these? Have you reviewed them? They are in my budget...
I totally understand budget! Buy what you can afford now and if you still have the itch in a few years upgrade. 😁 The 3020i is the best value (performance vs. cost) of the line. It will work great as a surround, better than the 3010i. I haven't tried the V6A but that should be a better option than the 1510. It has more power (2 channels driven) so as you add speakers you should have a bit more power for each speaker. I don't know the harmonic distortion numbers between the two AVRs but I suspect they both have pretty low distortion.
I have a 10 x 10 ft room And planning on 5.1.2 setup I initially though of 4 qa 3020i and 3090ci center What's your thoughts? 3010i vs 3020i vs 3030i for a 10 x10 ft room? And how does the winner compare to elac debut b5.2 and b6.2
I haven’t heard the Elacs so I can’t say. If you’re planning a subwoofer go for the 3020i. If you’re not planning a sub go for the 3030i, it has better bass. All of this will work well in a 10x10 room.
I am looking to upgrade my very good Celestion 3 Mk2's on my secondary system in a small lounge environment and have the opportunity to buy a pair of 3010's, will these work?
I tried a port plug in my Klipsch 280f. All I can say is nuh ah. I guess if your speaker doesn't comen with a port plug, using it won't turn out well. My jbl studio 580 came with port plug and it's fine with it.
At 1:23, you list the weight for the 3010i as 9 lbs (4.9 kg), which in kg would be more than the 3020i 10.59 lbs (4.8 kg)! It´s supposed to be a little over 4 kg...
Hi there, good video as usual, I have had the 3010i for a while now and looking to do an upgrade, in your opinion do you think an upgrade to the concept 20 would be a very good improvement, many thanks, mike
Yes, the concept 20 will provide better mid range and a cleaner sound. The 3020i are also good upgrade but if you want the best and you bi-amp go Concept 20
Have the 3050s - but need to downsize. Will add a sub, but tossing up with the 3010 & 20. with a Sonos Sub, do you think there will be much difference between the 10s& 20s?
Hi, thanks for the review. It is maybe a bit off topic, but how does the 3090Ci compare to those speakers? From the specs, the bass should be truncated a bit, how about the mids? It is rather important for voice rendering. Does it performs better than the 3010i and 3020i with a sub? Thanks
Unfortunately I haven’t heard the 3090ci but I assume it blends well with either. But since I haven’t heard it I can’t say how it compares with either.
What are Q Acoutics speakers like. I'm looking to replace my Sony SS P6000 24 year old floor standing speakers and I was looking at Q Acoustics floor standing speakers along with other makes.
The presentation is fairly neutral , a touch on the warm side. A little laid back. Here’s a video I did comparing the 3050i to my Klipsch which is a much brighter sound. There are audio samples so you can hear how they sound relative to a bright speaker m.th-cam.com/video/BIhaLcgHy0Q/w-d-xo.html
I had the older 3020 first then upgraded to the 3050 and after 2 1/2 years they are still like new but they do get better soundwise with age after a break in period. Just a great company and product range.
which speaker would you recommend for the desk. Will the smaller 3010i sound better in small spaces? I can buy the 3020i for 175 bucks and the 3010i for 199. The 3020i are cheaper but I dont know if they wont sound as good because because of the the small space.
This is a hard one, the 3020i sounds better because it have a stronger mid range but on a desk it may be a bit to big for a desk so I’d go 3010i. It will sound good in a small space. Just make sure you have an amp because it is a passive speaker.
Thank you for the review. I wonder though, what is the point of these music playback examples? It’s a very distorted experience, since you’re listening to a sound compressed by TH-cam + distorted by the listener’s headphones (or even speakers)
Thanks for watching! 🙂 Some people want samples some don’t so I provide them for folks who do and those that don’t can skip them. When I compare speakers back to back the samples do provide relative differences.
Great comparison with actual music playing! Having watched your videos on QAcoustics speakers, I'm looking to get the 3030i; but the fact my old Onkyo amp is terribly powerless (only 15W/4ohm!). Do you think the 3030i speakers still do their job if not performing at the best? Also, I'd like to hear your opinion on how the bass booms. I mainly listen to music at night and worry the big woofers might shake the floor when is put on a common shelf not for speakers.
I own the 3010i as my room is small but I auditioned all of these speakers at my local hifi shop because it was time for an upgrade.... Which if any did I buy? The concept 20s .. why? Because when placed on there dedicated stands they in nearly every sense just sounded more fuller and complete, and that's a hard because of how old they are compared to the new line of the 3030s ......have you compared this alternative from Q Aquatics?
If you don't have or are not planning to get a subwoofer get the 3030i. That being said I'm planning to compare the 3030i with the concept 20 so check back in a week or so and and the video should be on the channel.
I just love listening to music and would like to setup 2 system. I want to hear crisp clear voice , can you tell me which model ? 3030i. I don't live a big space.thanks
I think the 3020i is the best all around. The 3030i is great for bass reproduction but the 3020i is a better value once you consider the price difference, at least here in the US.
Home Theater Hobbyist I am sorry I meant “rear” speakers !! I already have the floor standing 3050i at the front and the new Sub Would you recommend a center speaker ?
O ok, I’d recommend the 3020i for the rear since the mid range is so much better than the 3010i. If you have a sub no need for the 3030i. As for center channel I’d go for the 3090ci. I haven’t tried it, hoping to try it soon, but it should match very well with the 3050i
I have the 2010 set up, with a subwoofer, wanting to add two more speakers for atmos could i add any off these speakers, if so what would you recommend.thanks
Eu tenho o 3020i e o 3010i mas preciso trocar meu Denon AVR-S530BT, acho que com um amplificador melhor me trará mas um ganho sonoro, mas mesmo com este receiver o som é excelente
How far should speakers be away from wall (back) ? Is it better to buy 3020 with sub or just 3030, i'll use it in livingroom abouth 20m2 and i dont need boomy bas. Sorry for bad eanglish, Thnx for answer
I’d say 6 inches or so from the wall. I typically recommend a sub but if you’re worried about boomy or to much bass the 3030i is definitely a good choice.
Hi everyone, great video with good knowledge, please help me understand, is there a BOSE HTIB system that can be better than a Q Acoustics 3030i set up??
wow, that Bose system is way overpriced for what you get, no support for Dolby atmos or DTS X, for the same money or cheaper you could put together a much better system.
I love your voice and presentation style! As a non-audiophile I was taken aback that you used an extra amplifier in addition to the receiver. Why is this?
Thanks 🙏🏾! There’s a few reasons I use an additional power amp. First, for demanding (low efficiency speakers). Second a traditional Avr advertises a certain amount of maximum power, let’s say 90 watts, but that’s typically 1 or 2 channels driven. Once you add more channels the max power output can drop to say 70 watts per channel, typically manufacturers don’t advertise exactly what the number is. So I use an external amp so I know the maximum amount of power the speakers are getting. I discuss this more here: th-cam.com/video/fq8of0WkjCk/w-d-xo.html
fantastic video you are always very exhaustive in the compliments videos. I have the 3020i and I would like to change them with the 3030i is it worth? I have a good subwoofer next to it like the 3060s qacustics
I have the 3020i's in a regular 2 channel music system. My amp is a Marantz PM6007. Also have an Elac 10" subwoofer. Fairly happy with the sound but am considering upgrading to the 3030i's. Trouble is my room is very small - about 9ft by 14ft. Also considering the Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 or 12.2. Some say the 3030i's are "too much" for a small room. Any thoughts on that? Do you think they would be ok? Thanks.
To directly answer your question, no I don’t think it will be to much because you can turn the volume down a little if necessary. But honestly I’d keep what you have, the 3020i. The main place the 3030i is an upgrade is bass which you already have covered with your sub. So I’d use that upgrade money for something else. Hopefully this helps! 😄
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist Thanks. Great reply. As it happens I'd pretty much come to the same decision. So, despite the great reviews for the Wharfedales, I decided instead to buy a new desk, so I could put my CD player, Amp, Network Streamer on it and have enough room left over to finally put the 3020i's on proper stands. Stands arrived yesterday, desk is coming today. About half the expense of the 3030i's or Wharf 12.2, too!
Been looking at this range of speakers myself and your video is without doubt the best I have seen on these speakers, your content, delivery and presentation is flawless - I'm impressed with you! Personally the 3020i in walnut will probably strike the best balance for me (should I decide to got for them) due to having a small room and space constraints. Richer Sounds sell these for £199 in the UK with a 6 year guarantee included and free delivery - a really great deal!
Thank you so much for the kind words! 😄 The 3020i really is truly a great speaker if you don’t need the additional bass of the 3030i. Don’t forget to subscribe and share the videos! 🙏🏾
I had been looking at buying a pair of 3020i speakers for my first stereo system. It looked like the best value proposition from what I could tell and I didn't see anyone who was really upset with them. Just today I found out that the 3030i existed, and here you are with this video! I do have a question if you have the answer: I see that these are all rated for 6 ohms. Is it a problem if my receiver is rated for 8 ohms?
I think the parts Express dayton ho 8" diy sub would work well with these. I got one, it's an amazing high output subwoofer that's musical, tiny, goes low and filled up my 2300 square foot room. When I got mine, it was $250. I think they went up to $300 so I would keep a look out for it to go back to $250. I still prefer a full range Klipsch 280f, though.
It's the first time I'm seeing any of your content and your channel, and I have to say that I like your reviewing style. Succinct, informative, cohesive and straight to the point. You've just convinced me to get a pair of the 3030is lol

Ah awesome video! I was so close to locking down the 3020i when I watched this video. Now, I have the 3030i in hand and absolutely no regrets. What you said in the video is absolutely accurate.
The 3030i really is an excellent product and value! 😁 Thanks for watching!!

Did you get the 3030i? I'm thinking of doing the same for a garage gym system (I already have 3010).
I like your review. No fancy intro, informative, and most important is to the point!
Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I have the 3020is and live in an apartment and they work perfectly for small living rooms without the need for a subwoofer. They are both cheaper and better than the B&W 705s.
How is the bass? What amplifier are you using?
@@raylinchetty100 It's deep, tight, and punchy. I am using my 1981 Pioneer A-9 integrated amplifier.
@Display2012 For the money. Yes
@Display2012 i also highly doubt that
@@faroukwasswa3588 I agree, the b&w 705s are almost six times the cost so they are in a different league to the 3020.
Thanks again man! I now “like” your videos even before I start watching them!

I had a nice listen to the 3030i's recently with the idea of setting up a 5.1 system: 3030's at the front and 3010's at the rear. Was pretty impressed with them for a relatively inexpensive bookshelf speaker.
I agree, their really really good for the price.
Would it work without a sub for a small living room?
This is such a great review thank you!
I’m looking at upgrading from crappy 2.1 pc system to the Q 3000i lineup (with a sub too) and been tossing up between the 3x models- based on desk space- not just price. (Probably overkill but it sets me up long term)
You covered off all the questions I had- love the format of the review!
Happy to help! Let me know what you decide and how you like it. 😀
Thank you 🙏🏾
You’ve made my mind up mate 3030i it is , thanks for a detailed review 👍
Glad to help
Thanks for the breakdown!
i wouldn't spend more than $250 on a sub to go with $200-$300 spkrs. i've got good results with cheap subs from monoprice and acoustic audio.
@@jamiejwaters Zeos Pantera reviewed the Bic F-12 and recommended it, i would buy it
3010 is good as rear speakers in the HT setup.
Nice, clear and easily understanding comparison! My mind's made up after the video, thanks!
I like your reviews.
I'm running a 5.1 (slowing getting to 5.1.2) system and currently use the 3020i's for my fronts and 3090ci for my centre, but my rears are the satellites from the Logitech Z906's. I was originally tossing up getting 3010i's or 3020i's for the rear, but I'm now tossing up between these three options:
1) Get a pair of 3010i's for the rears (AUD 550 / USD 360)
2) Get a second pair of 3020i's for the rears (AUD 650 / USD 430)
3) Get a pair of 3030i's for the fronts, and move my 3020i's to the rear. (AUD 990 / USD 650)
I do have a small sub.
Totally understand, moving bookshelves to surrounds or rears is a great place for them when upgrading. 👍🏾
Great comparison video. I use my 3010i on my computer desktop set up. Nice little speakers for the money.
I have the 3030i as my front speakers, the 3020i as my surround and the 3010i as my rear surround and the 3090i as my centre. But unfortunately have a Yamaha sub. But sounds lovely with my onkyo tr-nr646. Especially with Apple Atmos music
Thank you man, you convinced me when you say "bass is there" ...
Awesome!
Love the deep cabinets.
Especially good for deep low bass.
The more enclosure volume, the more extended bass.

Thanks for posting!
I appreciate the angled shot, I really got a good look at them

How is the following combo for a 11ft X 16ft space (Viewing distance 11ft wall to wall)
Usage: 50% Movie viewing, 30% Regular TV and 20% Songs
The 3050i 5.1 Cinema Pack comprises of a pair of Q 3050i floorstanding speakers + Q 3010i bookshelf / standmount speakers + Q 3060 Subwoofer + Q 3090i Centre
Clubbing with Denon AVR-2700H
Which ATMOS would you recommend to go with this setup?
Hmmmm….. Atmos is a great question for that setup. I’m thinking Svs prime elevation. I haven’t tried them but their supposed to be fairly neutral so they should blend fairly well with the Q’s.
I have been using the 3000 non-i since they came to market still in my movie room
With 3050 as mains, but since the centre is only 4in I went 3010 for surrounds
Now that there is a 6.5in for a bookshelf I will consider getting the 3030i, but only if Q makes a centre with bigger drivers
Another person had the same request for larger center channel drivers
I like the speaker design. It's so beautiful and appealing. I'll the 3030i at some point. I love my Bose 301v. Will definitely give the 3030i a go.
@Xarifa Lee not sure you described same Bose 301v, perhaps check other reviews. It's an amazing speaker.

If Front Pair will be 3030i - does it have any point to get another pair for Rear channels and took the same 3030i or there is no difference and 3020i or 3010i will be enough for the rear?
Thank You.
Hi! Since you have a subwoofer, I would say the 3020i would be best for side surrounds and/or rear channels. It has a stronger mid range as compared to the 3010i.
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist Thank you very much for your answer!
At least now I know what to do next :)
Interesting question 🤔, simple answer, yes I would upgrade to the 3020i. The mid range is better then the 3010i.
Hi,
I have been watching again your reviews on Q Acoustics speaker (that's a good sign that you do great reveiws ;) ), and read most of the comments.
Yeah I noticed that. One difference is the extra 2db efficiency of the 3020i. I went for 3010i for Atmos height
Nice 👍🏾
Hi bro, please could you advice if any of these speakers are ideal for surround sound speakers. I'm currently using the Denon SCN10 bookshelf Speakers for surround and the q acoustics 3090ci as centre speaker, with svs 1000 sb subwoofer.
I'm anticipating an update of surround sound speakers in the q acoustics range.
Thanks
I'd go for the 3020i, they have a good balance between sound quality and price.
Ok thanks
(3010i front + 3010i back + 3090ci center + 3060S Subwoofer) vs (3020i front + 3010i back + 3090ci center + 3060s subwoofer)... Which one is the best combination for 5.1 home theatre system?
The 3020i combo is the best.

As far as mid-range, are the vocals also more forward as you go bigger?
If my memory is serving me well, I would say the 3020i is a hair more prominent, vocally, than the 3030i.
Hi, thank for your video
I have 3020 no "I" model and using wall mount from QAccoustic so I wonder it seems the "I" model don't have no more the possibility to use wall mount ?

Assuming you want this setup mainly for movie watching here's my recommendation:
3020i fronts and 3010i rears/surrounds.
What are your views on these vs the Polk Signature Elite ES20?
I haven’t heard the ES20s so I can’t say sorry 😞

What do you think ? 3020i or 3010i as lefts and right channels in a 3.5 meter x 3 meter room?
3 inches between the port and the back wall are too little? :( Would work well with the foam bung?
At 1:23, you list the weight for the 3010i as 9 lbs (4.9 kg), which in kg would be more than the 3020i 10.59 lbs (4.8 kg)! It´s supposed to be a little over 4 kg...

Home Theater Hobbyist hi, I mainly watch movies, yes I have 2 of the QB12 subwoofers, thanks
Yes, the concept 20 will provide better mid range and a cleaner sound. The 3020i are also good upgrade but if you want the best and you bi-amp go Concept 20

The 3020i has better bass and therefore a more balanced speaker
Hi, thanks for the review.
It is maybe a bit off topic, but how does the 3090Ci compare to those speakers? From the specs, the bass should be truncated a bit, how about the mids? It is rather important for voice rendering. Does it performs better than the 3010i and 3020i with a sub?
Thanks
Unfortunately I haven’t heard the 3090ci but I assume it blends well with either. But since I haven’t heard it I can’t say how it compares with either.

which speaker would you recommend for the desk.

Home Theater Hobbyist I am sorry I meant “rear” speakers !!
I already have the floor standing 3050i at the front and the new Sub
Would you recommend a center speaker ?
O ok, I’d recommend the 3020i for the rear since the mid range is so much better than the 3010i. If you have a sub no need for the 3030i. As for center channel I’d go for the 3090ci. I haven’t tried it, hoping to try it soon, but it should match very well with the 3050i

I’d say 6 inches or so from the wall. I typically recommend a sub but if you’re worried about boomy or to much bass the 3030i is definitely a good choice.
Hi everyone,
great video with good knowledge, please help me understand, is there a BOSE HTIB system that can be better than a Q Acoustics 3030i set up??
short answer is no
@@markrowe8824 but bose lifestyle 650 is crazy expensive, it actually made me think twice about Q Acoustics 3030i set up!
wow, that Bose system is way overpriced for what you get, no support for Dolby atmos or DTS X, for the same money or cheaper you could put together a much better system.
What a great review.

How would you setup a 5.1 with these?
Great review.Thanks!
Thank you
I love your voice and presentation style!
How would these perform with an smsl as300?
These are so big for desktop or carrying around for different rooms or uses.
Not sure about the Smsl, I haven’t tried it.
fantastic video you are always very exhaustive in the compliments videos. I have the 3020i and I would like to change them with the 3030i is it worth? I have a good subwoofer next to it like the 3060s qacustics
If you have a subwoofer, I wouldn’t upgrade to the 3030i. Thanks for watching!
front heights or rear heights for the best effect. Thanks
I'm partial to fronts.
why have these become more expensive? e.g., 3020i went from $315 to $449 retail?
Unfortunately a lot of av gear got more expensive during the pandemic. I guess that happened to the 3020i too.
I have the full Q A set up, Concept 20s, Concept 40s, Concept Centre with 3070s sub. Its an amazing sound for the price point
I believe it!
Nice!!! Upgrade the setup! 😀
Great review great speakers
Thanks
I recently had the opportunity to try the 3010i in my 16m2 living room, and the sound and deep bass are quite good, but somewhat boring.
Have you considered the Whardale Diamond 12? Here’s a video where I compare the two:

What is better the 3030i or the 3020i with a sub?
3020i with a decent sub!
3050i, 20i,90i with sr5014, but can't able feel the mid bass on tower speaker. All crossover 80hz,
Been looking at this range of speakers myself and your video is without doubt the best I have seen on these speakers, your content, delivery and presentation is flawless - I'm impressed with you!

Can you tell us the make and model receiver you have?
@@rich.e It is a Sony STR-DE925. At some point I'd like to use it in a 5.1 setup but these will be my first pair for it.
For the most part, I’ve found most amps and receivers will handle lower Ohms fine unless you’re really pushing it.
@@RennieAsh Thanks! The size of the room I'm using will necessitate near-field listening, so I won't be pushing them hard at all.
I got my 3030i pair today and am quite pleased. It does not take much power from my receiver to put out room-filling sound.
great vid. thanks for the content
Thanks for watching!
Can i use any of these for pc desktop?
Yes but you would need an amplifier, like this one. A Nice Little Stereo Amp
