I have one of these exact models. Common issue i just had to fix on mine. The sprocket on the end of the starter slips in itself. Pull the cover over off and try the starter. Ull see what im talking about. Its not the starter or the starter clutch its a small sprocket off the starter that turns the chain for the one way clutch. Good deal. Checkout the starter clutch, it possibly could be repaired. I bought one couple yrs ago w/similar issue. The face bowed and allowed 2clutch shoes to pop outta position. Was able to realign shoes and press face back into position. Worked like a charm for couple wks till new one arrived. Swapped it out w/new one. It still hangs around toolbox as a backup. Goodluck can wait for ROMP✌✌🖖🖖👍👍👍
If you hack the carb I want the old one! Hell I want the whole thing. They are somewhat known for clutches wearing out. I ground the drum flat and cut new grooves into the clutch shoes to get more life out of mine.
Do you have any bayou wiring harness repair or homemade harness videos ? I just picked up an 86 bayou 300 2wd. The wiring harness is long gone. It had some homemade harness from previous owner. Basically I have an OEM start/ kill switch, oem stator , voltage regulator. Theres a cdi but it's not Kawasaki . I basically have to make a harness from scratch.

It did run ! Does the starter have a bendix on it ? Or is it direct drive ? Maybe it needs lube that rope cup looks dank and scratchy ! How or when do you know to use the power CDI box or the non power one ? I made both per your videos and haven’t needed them yet ! Been lucky thus far ! Lol.
Hello Harvy, my bayou 220 recoil is broke , do you think the plastic recoil itself from a Recon will work in the bayou 220 , you had mentioned this some time ago, Recon pull start is cheap , just looking for the parts out of it , love your hoard

Harvey i need your help. I have a Kawasaki bayou.. I cant figure out whats wrong with it. Good spark. Good compression.good fuel. If it starts. It will rungood. If you turn it off. You pay hell getting it started again.
Make sure choke is working and check crankcase for fuel. I have a 1987 that had the crankcase full of fuel from the choke or prime on carb flooding into cylinder and causing it not to start.
Havery I've a 220 Kawasaki bayou and my dad put more then 1000€ into it new frame painted it new tires light whole brand new pipe all oil lines on engine new starter but has same problem spin sum times catches how do u suppose to fixing it would help me a lot starts first pull on the decompression lever on head
