    Dude. I followed DJI's instructions and fumbled around for over an hour, no closer to getting this big canon balanced. Watched your video and was done in 6 minutes. You are the man. Excuse me, Thee Man. Thanks!

    Wow man, 3 years using mine and today was the first time i decided to use the EF 24-105 S with the EOS R, and that one not fun lol
    I thought it was balanced, I used the same method i use to balance the EF10-18, but the 10-18 is a MUCH MUCH MUCH lighter lens,
    after having to hold the gimble without rest for a good 3 hours straight filming stationary as well as walking a good 3km through the city,
    my arms, should and back are killing me "also wearing a backpack full of gear", and while i've been our doing the same thing every weekend now for the past 2 months,
    I have come to realise how much different the quality of the footage was using the 24-105, so much different.
    but then when i got home, i felt like in spite of my best effort to balance and tune the Ronin S, it was still somewhat wrong, as a few times with the zoom lens out the gimbal fails unless hold it tilted backward towards me in the most awkward position in order to counter balance the extended lens,
    but now that i've balanced it right based on your recommendations, it appears to work like a treat without straining the motors,
    on a side note, and coming from a Flycam use, having a heavier lens made the gimbal much smoother,
    and one more thing to add, is to ensure that if you make the following adjustments to one profile , you'll get great smooth shots,
    Under profile "in the phone app"
    set the following :
    Follow speed to : Slow
    Deadband : Low
    Sensitivity: Low
    Push Mode : OFF
    and leave the control option alone.
    this gives great smooth shots once the gimbal is balanced right :)
    Thanks for the great tips :)

    Do I have to have the tiny plastic holder for the the lens at the end of the plate? If so, where can I purchase it? I def. lost mine.

    • @MonsterGadgets
      @MonsterGadgets  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You only need that for larger lens but imo it’s better to have for all lenses. As for buying another, maybe check their website or call them. I know they have do have it available via customer support.

    I have to get highlights and photos for a wedding. Do you think it will be reliable to slide off and slide the camera back on for more footage ?

    • @MonsterGadgets
      @MonsterGadgets  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, just mark where the plate is set so that you can quickly put it back in the same position as needed.

    Have you had any luck using the 5D Mark IV with the Ronin S for motion time-lapse? In the scenes I've shot, the exposures vary every 3 frames, as if I'm bracketing exposures (but I'm not); and this causes the still image sequence to flicker like crazy after processing. Any thoughts are appreciated!

    • @MonsterGadgets
      @MonsterGadgets  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John. I have not used the 5D Mark IV for motion time-lapse with the Ronin S. However, I’ve heard people having issues with it, similar to what your describing. I don’t know of a solution but I remember looking into it a while back and different forms talking about firmware updates. It had worked for some but not others. Have you tried updating your firmware?

    • @iamjohn01
      @iamjohn01 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MonsterGadgets Thanks for the reply! I've updated the firmware on both the Ronin S and the Canon 5D Mark IV. The only pseudo-workaround I've discovered so far is to program both devices independently and manually trigger them simultaneously. What I mean is: program the Ronin S with the desired motion, and then program the 5D "interval settings" to match the same interval, duration, etc, and finally press start on both at the same time. The Ronin S will transport the camera through the motion while the camera is firing off the frames along the way.
