Wow, I'm first. I love your content! I'm still a kid living at home but I hope to live like you do someday. It's especially important to live minimally and be thankful for what you have, because times are getting harder where I live. Mostly the air is getting bad and my health is getting worse. Love from the other side of the world, Sydney, Australia.
So sorry to be hearing about the fires in Australia. Here, in California, we have had fires too so I can imagine what you are describing about the air quality and I hear you loud and clear about living minimally. We are lucky to have a peaceful and wise place like Fairyland Cottage to soothe our souls in these times. I will be keeping good thoughts for you!

I think I have found my favourite youtuber 😊 I am simply in love with your voice and the videos... I love all of them. Recently, actually it is for a while now, I feel like I want to go back, to what life really means.. And one day, after searching for natural shampoo I have found you.. And since then I am watching your videos non-stop and writing down all the recipes, all the secrets 😍 I'm 25, but this ''modern life'' is not a life for me... I want a simple, authentic and happy life. So, finding you has helped me immensely. Sorry for the long post, but I don't usually comment so when I do I can't stop :)) A really big hug from Roumania🤗
call. me. mary m ah hello my dear. Lovely that you messaged. Thank you. You are wise beyond your years. May you live a simple life full of integrity and joy. Keep in touch. Irish blessings to you xxx
Love this. I also do the double cleanser with oils and then your face power. Then I use rosewater as a toner, then a natural serum from hyaluronic acid that I buy locally. and then I finish my routine with my face oil recipe (jojoba oil, rosehip oil, argan oil and maqui oil with a few drops of calendula and tea tree essential oil). ITs amazing. I recommend you to use 2-3 layer from your toner, becouse it will add you more hydration to your skin. Remember oils are nice emollients, humectants and are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, but they are not hydrators. Rose water can be your hydrator, but it will work better if you layered it.
Today as I woke up I was really stressed and the anxiety level was really to high. And than I went to your page and watch some videos and as usual your voice and your calm made me fell lots of peace again. Thank you very much also for the night oil recipe, I'm looking forward to do that. 🙏💛
Thank you for the idea of washing my fash with a powder rather than a soap! I have psoriasis on my face and have have switched to washing my face with oat powder. After a week of using it, my face feels great. Its no longer plaquey, dry, and dull. Thank you!

I just made up a batch of the face wash (without the chamomile or lavender) and tried it for the first time. It feels wonderful. I'm giggling because I knew my wash cloth would be yellow. I followed it up with rose water and jojoba oil. I'm excited to see how my skin does with this routine. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Another lovely relaxing video! In the evenings I use olive oil and a flannel dipped in water to remove my makeup, then I use a solid facial bar as I like the squeaky clean feeling. I use jojoba oil to moisturize, and that's it! When I want to exfoliate once in a blue moon I use ground oats and ground almonds mixed together. If my skin is going through a problem phase, like when I'm hormonal, I use aloe vera gel instead of the jojoba oil. I love how simple and low-waste my routine is!
@@micheleybarra6253 I am still using it from a tube currently as it took me ages to actually find an aloe vera plant! However, I've since purchased a plant so I have that option too 👍
I use avocado (great for wrinkles), jojoba or carrot oil and my face never looked better since I stopped using all the creams and lotions and went minimal with cosmetics and that was almost 10 years ago, I can really see the results now at 44 :)
@@segivde3793 it's not a mixture, sometimes I use the carrot one other times the jojoba for the night and avocado every morning. No, no serums, hydrolat of patchouli or helycrisum only but there are many others that might be good for your skin type.

Wonderful! I have very fair, delicate skin with a beginning of rosacea so a coupla times a week I also use dry herbs to scrub my face gently, in my case marigold or a mix of camomile & lavender powder, and my skin thanks me for that. At the moment I'm not using oils as skin care but an organic night cream which contains lavender, very refreshing and calming. And of course a toner that I made myself, with green tea & some drops of aloe vera, fantastic! Thanks for yet another great video dear Niamh, loads of love ❤❤
I love your videos so much, you truly inspire change! Everyone recommends oils for facial cleansing, but my skin breaks out at the touch of ANYTHING greasy (believe me, I've tried a lot). Nevertheless, this was such a soothing video to watch so still self-care, but in a different way.
A lot of oils, especially essential oils, can be harsh on skin. I have been using cocoa butter mixed with almond oil and vitamin e on my face, I find it very light.
@@murrrriel Unfortunately, both of these fit the category of "I've tried a lot," but thank you for the input nonetheless. :) I'm happy with my current oil-free routine.
have you tried oils such as evening primerose, hemp, grapeseed, even watermelon seed, rosehip seed, rasperry seed? these have worked for me very well, and i have acne prone skin. whereas oils like jojoba, castor, coconut, olive, almond, etc. always make me break out. I thought oils just didnt work for me but then learned from a blog called Minimalist Beauty that some peoples skin cant handle oils high in oleic acid and need more linoleic acid. Hope this helps :) Its been amazing for me, i thought my skin was hopeless till I learned this nugget of info.
As always great video. Ha ha ha I bought see buckthorn and Rosehip oil, didn't realize what colour they were when I put too much of them together on my face and walk downstairs to put make up on. I look like the tango man ha ha Ha
Thank you, Niamh. Can't wait to try this terrific recipe! I have referred several people to your channel for its wonderful contents and lovely atmosphere. Greetings and thanks from Canada, M. p.s. Do you use your face powder and oils on your neck and decolletage?
Lovely video 🖤 if you could share your expertise: is raspberry seed oil and/or carrot seed oil okay to use on the face? I hear it is a good natural spf...what about yogurt on the face. Thank you 🌱
I was in the health food store yesterday and I was looking to buy some rose water in a glass spray bottle. I found one, and it was sooooo expensive. I didn’t buy it. I’m on a pension. I live in Canada so Rose season is long gone. Is it possible to somehow preserve or dehydrate rose petals to make my own? I am planning on planting a large rose garden on my property so I can harvest them, and also stare at them over the summer. Maybe make rosehip tea. What kinds of roses should I plant? I loved your video, as always. ☮️💕
I'm sure you could. Some times grocery store have roses in bouquets that aren't so expensive. Maybe one of those bouquets would be enough to make a bottle. 💙💙🎄💙
Jenny Burnett thank you I will check it out. I will have to look for organic, because I am guessing those flower farms spray junk all over those beautiful flower. But I could be wrong. 🤗
Mary E.: You're right about the fact that they spray lots of pesticides on flowers used for bouquets. Wanting to make my own rose water à la Fairyland Cottage, I enquired at a Loblaw flower department, and the attendant dissuaded me from buying the rose petals for that use because it would be toxic due to the chemicals. She suggested organic if I could find some. Still searching!
Cam Jam oh wow!! Thanks so much for letting me know! I think I will source out some clean bushes in the spring and grow my own. Good luck with your search. 💚
planting your own rose tree is a great idea.... look up David Austen roses.... they say which ones are sweet smelling.... I love to just look at the pretty pictures!
Can I have a video listing all these natural oils and what's their benefits. I really wanna start buying them but I don't know what's better for my skin type and what's their purpose 🙏🙏🙏
Hello Niamh, thank you for another beautiful video. Please can you post the link to the facial cleansing powder you mention? I made your Oat and Neem scrub, but I don't think that's one? thank you x
A lot of skincare people I watch say, to never use coconut oil and avoid it. I used to use it to remove makeup, but apparently it can clog pores. If your skin reacts fine with coconut oil then I guess it fine but not the best.
Jojoba oil is great for your face coz its properties and molecular structure are most similar to your body's sebum. Then follow up with an SPF. I agree, coconut oil can be a good makeup remover but Id be careful to use it as a moisturizer. Make a blend like she does in this video, with jojoba as a base. Moringa/ morula + rosehip + vitamin E oils are good add-ons too.
tricky...because I go to my health shop and just buy when I see it in glass.... Asian shops also have rose water in glass but the quality may not be as good...
Niamh, would all that oil not cause breaks outs. I once started using coconut oil as a cleanser and after a few weeks, I found it was causing me to break out so had to stop.
I've heard that coconut oil in particular is prone to making people break out. Personally, vitamin E and argon oils make me break out. However, these oils may be good for some people. I'd reccomending trying some oils for yourself and then seeing the effects for yourself.
look for oils with a higher percentage of linoleic acid. this has worked very well for me. I had the same problem with coconut oil. :) but i love using eveing primrose, pumkin seed, and watermelon seed. you could also try red raspberry seed, grape seed, or rosehip seed. these have a higher percentage of linoleic acid.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I’m reading them all and will do my best to reply to most during the week!

ah these are from Kuishi Home... a small UK company

Mary E.:
You're right about the fact that they spray lots of pesticides on flowers used for bouquets.
I really wanna start buying them but I don't know what's better for my skin type and what's their purpose 🙏🙏🙏
here is a great link to some resource....bodyunburdened.com/best-face-oils-skin-type/
Charcoal soap and amla oil or loral creme.
Hello Niamh, thank you for another beautiful video. Please can you post the link to the facial cleansing powder you mention? I made your Oat and Neem scrub, but I don't think that's one? thank you x

You are living my dream.
Would you recommend just using plain coconut oil as a moisturizer
A lot of skincare people I watch say, to never use coconut oil and avoid it. I used to use it to remove makeup, but apparently it can clog pores. If your skin reacts fine with coconut oil then I guess it fine but not the best.
Jojoba oil is great for your face coz its properties and molecular structure are most similar to your body's sebum. Then follow up with an SPF. I agree, coconut oil can be a good makeup remover but Id be careful to use it as a moisturizer. Make a blend like she does in this video, with jojoba as a base. Moringa/ morula + rosehip + vitamin E oils are good add-ons too.
thanks :))
I would not as it is comedogenic... making it block pores and can bring spots on peoples faces
I am not sure you will see this question, but could you please recommend a good rosewater? I like that yours comes in glass. Merci! :)
tricky...because I go to my health shop and just buy when I see it in glass.... Asian shops also have rose water in glass but the quality may not be as good...
Lovely ,were can I find all this oils ?
a good health store should have them
THANKS.... THANKS...…..... AND THANKS,,,,,.. GRETTINGS FROM CHILE

To bad for men that have to shave not so great for the skin right, would the recipe work for after?
❤️❤️❤️love your channel xxx
@@mercutiobenvolio3534 my naturopath told me that coconut oil clogs pores so I refrained from using it as moisturizer. ☺️
coconut oil is the only no go oil! it causes pores to be blocked as it is comedogenic ....rosehip oil is different ...
