My darling dad died at the age of 92 continually simplifying his lifestyle until the end.We would sit together in the garden very quietly and often he would say ‘life doesn’t get any better than this’ and he was right
It's great to have a garden. For many in our modern societies it is a luxury it will take many, many years to afford. Bless you and your dad, he was entirely right 🙏🙏🙏
the little fairy is now walking. she'll be flying soon. lovely to see the care she is getting. if every child in the world started out like this what a world of happy people we would have.
When you start darning a sock or sweater, start by stitching a ring around the hole, go around a few times to make is sturdy. Then start the weaving back and forth. You'll find the darned part of the sock will be stronger than the rest of the sock. Thank you for your videos and the gentle wisdom you share. Blessings to you all!
What a wonderful thing having you back with us , along with the Little Fairy. 💕💕💕 Your thoughts still ring true, more than ever. Love from Massachusetts.
What a beautiful childhood your Fairy is having. Your voice is so lyrical and calming, I could almost drift to sleep while watching. So glad you are back.
Dear Niamh, Today is the day that I just want to leave this comment to tell you that you are such a beautiful soul and such an inspiration. It’s fantastic to watch your videos again after your well-deserved break and to see that all is well for you and your family. Back in 2019 one of your videos inspired me to move to the countryside, even though it took 2 years until this dream came true for me. I’ve been feeling at peace ever since and I incorporate so much of your wisdom into my daily life. You were even one of the reasons I decided to start my own TH-cam channel vlogging about my cottagecore lifestyle. Thank you so much for sharing your fairyland life with us and all the best to you ❤
You made me think back, the time my boys were baby and toddler. The best years of my life! I got ill when they were 4½ and 2½, now they are 19 and 17. I am still here, but battling the late effects of chemo and radiation. We made some changes recently, selling our house in the city and moving to a village, close to a forest (not natural but still a forest) and closer to dunes and Northsea. I'm so happy that you are back, you help me to stay calm and accept that I don't have much energy left after moving. Back to crochet, knit, and sew this winter❣️
I recently moved to a smaller house and downsized in the process. And I just want to encourage you that moving is exhausting, leaving me tired and a little confused for awhile. I am told that this is natural, especially after living for a time in the previous home. I Pray your energy returns as you rest and drink in the peace and calm of your little forest and feed your spirit good memories of your boys. Accept what is, and be stronger soon - -
I had a good little giggle at your little fairy eating her porridge. How precious those days are! I know it’s cliche but enjoy those messy repetitive moments i wish i had.
November is truly a time to slow down as the weather turns chilly & the nights are long. A fire in the wood stove & a bowl of soup & home made bread warms the feet & the heart.
My children have grown & when you’re in the stage of them being pre school it at times can feel sometimes like you’re missing out or so repetitive. Once my kids entered school life literally raced away with business and I could hardly catch my breath. Cherish this time as I tell this to women I see with little ones. It’s such a GIFT to be blessed with a child. God Bless you, I love your videos ❤
Thank you for this video. I so needed to watch it this evening, here in Philadelphia. My fairies are long past the stage of toddling about & having me bathe them after our day of adventures. I enjoyed those dear moments, & it’s beautiful to see your family enjoying them as well. Sometimes I feel lonely & find life noisy, fast, & violent, so it’s welcome to connect here. All the best. ✨✨✨🌀
My mum taught me how to darn and she was the most patient woman I know. Her life oozed contentment and she quoted wisdom from her bible "godliness with contentment is great gain" By slowing down you are learning fast!
Absolutely lived this video! Your and Terry's willingness to change your life's pace to allow space and time for the Wee Fairy to play, learn and explore her world is divine.
So happy to see you again on a Sunday morning. Missed your tranquil videos so much. Your little fairy is adorable. Enjoy every stage as they grow up so fast.
Such a beautiful video. Your little fairy is adorable! I’m 63 and the older I get the simpler my life becomes. I’m like you, I make sure I get out for a walk in the fresh air every day. Enjoy your day Niamh. ❤️
Ah, takes me back to when my two teenagers were wee ones. Goodnight Moon, always a favorite, as well as the Snail & the Whale (any Julia Donaldson books!). I treasured the bath, storytime, bedtime snuggle routine. Enjoy your little fairy and the slowing of the winter months ahead. x
Ahhhh my way of slowing down and relishing the simple things is watching your precious videos.. thank you Niamh and Terry and the wee lil fairy… delightful and appreciate you very much! Aloha from Hawaii…
First, I laughed a lot seeing the little fairy “eat” her porridge, although it is a mess it is so good letting them feel and taste what they are eating. Second, many years ago I decided to live a very simple life, and I am really happy being able to not letting me overwhelm by the pace of society, especially now in this season. Christmas nowadays is all about consuming, and I literally avoid doing any shopping regarding Christmas. For me this season is to be with my family, hugging and embracing them since my parents are very old. Presence, listening and love are the greatest gifts we can give our family, especially if our parents are old and also our children. I remember my son when he was little he had the best time being with me in the kitchen while he opened the cupboards, taking out all the pots and pans, he was just happy being with me and letting him play with the pots. Thanks for sharing and enjoy this time with your fairy because time really flies, my son is already 21 and time just flew away. Greetings from an also rainy Portugal.
Soo soo true Lidia! Time passes quickly. We will never regret loving our family and giving them hugs. Thanks for sharing with us. Love to you in Portugal ❤
My granddaughter just turned 3. She goes from happy to mad so quick lol. But I love watching her mommy, my daughter, and her have such conversations! Of course, I was a worrier that she would never talk. She was so quiet, but now she is just so smart she amazes me. ❤❤ Enjoy that little one, they grow up so fast.
So glad to see you back! Such a wonderful time for you! I especially love to see you give your daughter the time she needs to become! So sweet and just plain endearing! Thank you!
I loved watching her eat. The mess will eventually be gone. So savor it now. I love that you are keeping things simple. That's the way I did it when my boys were little. Thank you for sharing
How delightful to watch your little one grow. I have a granddaughter that same age and I love watching her development, she brings me much joy. It is different when we are raising our own children, I found out they show us where we’re at inside. We are still developing also. They take us places we would never think we’d go as they get older. Thank you for this delightful video. Enjoy your wee one as much as possible. You have a beautiful family. ❤️
Such a nice way to end my day. I've been sick with a vomiting bug that flared my fibro and arthritis. If I was sick two years ago, I would be still up on my feet but after watching your videos about simple living and slowing down, I have learned the importance of letting things wait to focus on myself.
My mother mended and I loved the button tin. My dearest gifts me with socks she has made and knitted gnomes to cheer me.I live alone in an apt now. I can see a mantel of new fallen snow here in Souther Ontario 🇨🇦 . You brought great comfort to me this morning in the silence.
It was so nice to hear from you. Such a soothing video. You reminded me of when I was young and my mother darning socks and mending clothes. She would sit with me at the window and watch the squirrels and birds and other nature going about their routines. Blessings to you and your little family. 💛
I tried the hand cleaning method you use on your little fairy on my 9 month old today. He thought I was giving him a giant drink at first, it was hilarious! But he got the hang of it very quickly! What a brilliant idea- thank you!
I really needed this one. For some reason I have been feeling anxious the past few days and this helped. You remind me of the things I already know but sometimes forget to apply for myself. Thank you again.
I miss the baby days soooo much. I have 7 kids, 22, 17, 16, 14, 13, 11 and 8. Teenage years are exhausting lol 😂 loved this vlog so very much and your little one is precious 💜🍁🍁🍁
What a lovely and calming video. Your little fairy is growing by leaps and bounds. You get to see the world again through her eyes. Enjoy every minute and thank you for sharing your garden of peace.
We are always striving to live simpler. Sometimes I find I can get caught up in consumerism when we make trips to the city to stock up on groceries, seeing things I think I need but really don’t. Your videos are a good reminder of what is really important in life. Having less really gives me more peace. Thank you for such a lovely video💖 (and your little one is such a cutie 🥰)
I have all my presents prepared and now I want to enjoy the christmas season fully :) In Germany tomorrow is the day where the season begins, as today is "Totensonntag" where we think about our loved people, that are dead. Next sunday I'm gonna watch your video while baking cookies :)
My Grandmother darned our socks. I wore socks that she had darned for years after she passed away. It's so nice to see that you are reviving this lost art. You didn't show a lot of your technique, but it looks like you got the basics right. My Grandmother used a smooth, wooden, bulb-shaped tool when she mended our socks. Your orange worked very well too I see. :D

@@julissabackus3560 Awh hello dear friend. I’m the same. The minute I go out into nature anxiety eases and peace takes over. I hope you find some scrap wood for creating.
Sometimes we don’t realize how our thoughts and words will impact people. As a family we are experiencing a very difficult situation, a family member is terminally ill , after a good cry a while ago I I needed some calm for my soul and there you were with a peaceful way of a simple life. Thank you so much for everything you do, for your great advise on how to celebrate the wonders of a simple way of living. Sending you good energy from Colombia. Blessings to the little fairy Princess.
I baked an apple this afternoon (all the fall spices & butter on tin foil). Your porridge with cinnamon reminded me it IS fall, and I need to adjust my diet accordingly. You always bring wonderful calm. Many thanks 🥰
Thank you so much my loveliest 🥰🤗 for this relaxing video!! Thank you for reminding us how beautiful life is in its simplicity no matter the weather ☀️🌤️🌦️🌧️☔ May you always enjoy every single moment 🧚💕💕
Just watching your video gave me a feeling of peace if only for a little bit. Your wee fairy is walking well & is so sweet & precious!! She is so lucky to have you & Terry to teach her your wise ways!! This world is definitely a disposable world. It is easier to throw something away than mend or fix it & reuse it. I think it's great to reuse what you have. I used to save torn socks & use them for dusting, cleaning. Thank you for reminding me that I need to keep trying to slow it down a bit & breathe. ❤️😊🍄
Darling, this may be your most beautiful and profound video ever. Thank you so much for making it. And I'm SO happy for you to have a bath tub now. I hope you are taking some well-deserved mama-baths as well. I usually slip into the still-warm bath water after putting my son gone down for the night. Love to you from Southern California (where I would beg borrow or steal for some of that Irish rain!).
What you share of your life gives permission to live a slow quiet life, when life allows it. I also am a nurse, working 12 hours shifts in hospital and I do appreciate my quiet, nourishing days at home. I recently watched an old video of you cleaning your tiny kitchen. It helped me to feel grateful for the small space I have, and that perhaps I don't need to rush into having it remodeled. I love cool, rainy weather and often think maybe I was meant to live in Ireland or Scotland where some of my family roots go back to. I can dream I'm there when I watch your life. I'm making homemade Christmas gifts today and want to make some of your soda breads. Do they freeze well if I make them ahead? Merry Christmas ✨ ❣️Erica
Thank you for this video. I really needed to hear “slow down.” Too much clutter with the holiday season and I feel that we are supposed to keep going… I’m on board with living a slower lifestyle. ❤
Your little fairy is so cute and growing up so fast. We also try to fix things before buying new but sometimes unfortunately we have to buy new. Love your video and the peace that it brings. Thank you. ❤
Thank you, as always. I miss my darling boys being little. They're grown now and fantastic humans, but those formative years are golden. ❤️ Random question: what were you having for lunch? Thank you. xo
Awww "little fairy" 💕 Such a pleasure to watch this new chapter in your life, Niamh. Following an Ayurvedic diet, as well...and routine is a must as I am "Vata" very drying in the Winter...very challenging at times. Wishing you and your fairy family lots of love. 🍂💕
We tend to be influenced only by the outside world.I forget the voice of my heart whenever I spend every day rushing.Your video just soothes me and reminds me of that.
You are living such a wonderful simple life, and giving your little fairy such a wonderful time. What a breath of fresh air you all are there at Fairyland Cottage. I love your bogs, they are so calming. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, and love to you three, from Devon, England. xxx
Such a balm to hear your voice this morning, like an old friend come to visit💕 Amazing you still have fuschia blooming and I love the little robin and the pretty fungii🍄 This time of year is difficult for me, so easy to get swept up in the chaos.....I find I use a lot of energy just staving off the anxiety that the Christmas season CAN bring if your not careful. My Mom used to put an old lightbulb in the sock to darn it, not many of that type left anymore. Thankyou for sharing your wee fairy with us🧚
Always so lovely to see your videos, especially on a Sunday night.....a reflective end to one week, and the strength to begin a new one. One day at a time, keep it as simple as our lives allow us to and don’t be too hard on ourselves. X
I love it when I see you've got a new video- I find them so grounding. You're filming has a real beauty to it. Thank you for sharing it with us. Love & light xxxx

So nice to have you back. So calming.
Thank you for the lovely video it made my day
Darling, this may be your most beautiful and profound video ever.
Merry Christmas ✨
❣️Erica
Thank you for this video. I really needed to hear “slow down.” Too much clutter with the holiday season and I feel that we are supposed to keep going… I’m on board with living a slower lifestyle. ❤
Your little fairy is so cute and growing up so fast. We also try to fix things before buying new but sometimes unfortunately we have to buy new. Love your video and the peace that it brings. Thank you. ❤
So glad to see your videos again!!
Thank you, as always. I miss my darling boys being little. They're grown now and fantastic humans, but those formative years are golden. ❤️
Random question: what were you having for lunch? Thank you. xo
What a lovely, calming video.
Ah yes Vata is so tricky eh… dry and cold. Nothing like shirodhara in the morning to warm the body and balance the doshas. 💜
Your video and narration blessed my soul. Thank you.
Thankyou for sharing your wee fairy with us🧚
Blessings on the little fairy.
Very sweet and calming.❤
Thank you so much for teaching us simpler life routine.. You are blessings in this earth... Love from India ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You always remind me of the importance of slowing down. It is a long process - limitless. Thanks for sharing your journey. Love from France.
Thank you so very much. Very peaceful and calming.❤
This was just lovely again...so soothing and quieting...just what I needed ❤️
My mom read Goodnight Moon to us when we were little and I've always loved it!
You make oatmeal looked delicious, I like the lighting in your videos, so calming. ❤
