When I was 6 I took an acorn from a oak at school and I threw it in my garden. The following year my mum found a tiny oak and it turned out the acorn found the strength to grow without any help and we were kind of proud. I’m now 20 and the tree is twice my height. Nature is a beautiful mystery and lucky are those who pay enough attention to its little gifts :)
You seem to have such a beautiful connection to the earth and I think it is because you live in a place where you are surrounded by earth's blessings 💗 Everything is so rich and green it is like I want to just eat everything that grows from the ground there. Some of us live in cities where our feet never really touch the ground - even when you do find a grassy patch it is over sewer lines, electrical lines, underground tunnels so that you really are not touching the earth. This is such a beautiful reminder for us all of how lovely and bountiful the earth is and soooo good for us mind, body and soul💗 Thank you soooo much - my feet want to stand barefoot in a muddy garden 😀
I live in the countryside. There’s everything you might want here: the mountains, the lake, the sea...and then hills, fields, streams, woods, waterfalls...even an old volcano and so natural hot springs! I often go for a walk to pick up stuff for my aquariums and terrariums. It’s fun how many things you can have for free (and also having a great time!). I LOVE this place cause you can enjoy whatever your soul needs. There’s nothing better, than walking in the nature and reconnect with the existence. Your videos are so calming and I love the fact that more and more ppl seem to enjoy the simple things, in such a chaotic society.
Before my husband and I got married, we used to pick wild 'black-caps' (aka blackberries) during their peak season here in the States (NY), around the end of July/beginning of August. Two weeks of pre-and post-dog days of summer is the best time here to pick them. I'd make tarts or we'd eat them fresh, just because and yes many scratches and purple fingers were had. Fast forward 20 years of marriage and two adult children and we have a couple of blackberry bushes in our backyard. What an absolute treat. Bless you and be well.
Oh my gosh Niamh! I literally did this last weekend! Picked wild blackberries, foraged for pine cones and picked up some litter as well. There’s something so magical about picking your own food❤️
I truly mean it Niamh. I used to play with neighbourhood kids in my childhood days... We used to hind behind huge banyan trees... Most part of my childhood was soo connected with nature nd animals. Now every thing has been demolished and got replaced by buildings. Now I live in the heart of the city filled with fly overs, huge buildings nd vehical smoke. Am afraid what my 3 month old baby will have left when he turns up to be a child😞

It takes me back to when I was a child and would go visit my granny and grandad every two years or so from in a small town called Paulstown (in Kilkenny). We would fly from California to Dublin and I enjoyed every minute of our stay there. One day my husband and I would love to move there. Love your videos, such therapy. When you plant a tree it’s an act of faith in the future and we certainly need some of that at the moment. It also teaches us patience and shows us how insignificant we are, as the tree will be there long after we have past.
Just the other day on my walk I picked blackberries and picked up trash along the way. Such a satisfying day. I add my berries to Greek yoghurt, with flax, toasted oatmeal, cinnamon & almonds. I just made a Blackberry sauce yesterday.
Loved x we have loads of Blackberries in freezer, my girls had great fun picking them..... I think they ate more than collected 😂 I recently made sundried tomatoes - my father in law & my friend both grew cherry tomatoes and well I had to put them to good use...... Also made pasta sauce, tomato ketchup Roasted tomatoes on bruschetta 🥰

I remember gathering blackberries at our friend’s property in the country as a child. My mother taught me how to make them into a pie. Earlier this year, when I was recovering from childbirth, she brought me a little blackberry pie because blackberries are my favorite fruit.

This is my second viewing of your videos and it's nice to know you are in Ireland. My mother and grandmother was from County Caven and I always enjoy their stories of when they were young. Many of the stories use to make me laugh so much. They never told of the bad times because, they wanted me, my sister and brother to know of only the good times and that we will know of the bad times when we are older. I absolutely adore Autumn too! Blackberries are so delicious and nutritious and acorns are like little gems to me. Definitely planting some this year!!!
I have several wild blackberry bushes that grow in our back field. We pick them over the summer and make too many cobblers. Also, your videos make me want to visit Ireland more and more. Some of my ancestors immigranted from their way back when. I just want to see if I have any family still over there.

This was very interesting. Enjoyed it immensely. I do not pickle ever as I only buy fresh fruit and vegetables. No grains or anything packaged. But do take vitamin B12 and have regular blood checks. At age 67, healthwise all is in very good order. All the best and greetings from Switzerland.

I have several wild blackberry bushes that grow in our back field. We pick them over the summer and make too many cobblers. Also, your videos make me want to visit Ireland more and more. Some of my ancestors immigranted from their way back when. I just want to see if I have any family still over there.

We do not have wild black berries in South America, but it is on my bucket list to go wild black berrie picking one day. I am glad for you that you can buy some at your market.
@@KatinkaPondersoh I didn't know that..! we are blessed to have Mediterranean fruits and vegetables..some of the best foods are picked up in forests and wild bushes here, it's organic and very cheap..nature is generous and beautiful xx with love xx

In the netherlands you get a hefty fine if you pick blackberries in nature, they say that's for the birds
no I don't believe it... there are millions of blackberries ... the birds would never get through them all....
on the other hand.... at least they are looking out for the birds!

Love your videos - so artistic, and calming! We may not all be able to live in a "fairyland cottage" but I do enjoy what you share! I also pick blackberries, because they grow wild in my yard. I remember we used to have a black berry tree in our front yard. I used to pick them and come in side with purple stained hands. I used to make ink out of them and try and write and draw with the juice. This brought back memories
