If anything, the stuff just starts to stress us out as time goes by. It creates clutter, makes us clean so much where we just move it around until we finally rid of it. Just to fill the void for a moment
I taught my flatmate how to make willow wreaths this week. We had a lovely walk to go and gather things, and I dried some orange slices and gathered berries from the garden beforehand. It was a lovely afternoon ^^

I used to make these wreaths. Now older and alone, I used dollar store items, a glue gun and made the most exquisite large wreath for my apartment door. Silver, white and gold..yet with a large burlap bow. Makes me happy. Sometimes changes happen when long walks in the woods aren't possible. But we don't have to give up what we love doing.💕 we just adapt.
Hi Niamh! I used to decorate like crazy, but the last couple of years, I have slowed down immensely. Some years I don’t even put up a tree. This year, I am going to be much more selective of what I use. I have decluttered most of the house. But, i still need to declutter my decorations. It’s hard to give away memories, so that will be the last thing I do. We are all blessed in varied ways. You show us all how very blessed we are in ways we don’t always think about. I am very thankful to you for that. I live in a suburban area, but we do have some woods behind us and we have many parks around us to walk in. I see deer and fox every once in a while and an abundance of squirrels to watch run around the trees and yard. I love my Sunday mornings, sipping my tea and listening and watching your videos. Many thanks to you and your husband for them. I wish you and your family a calm and delightful holiday season!
Good morning fairyland! This should be a time of peaceful thoughts and calm days. I decorate during the holidays but we have a different approach to the standard chaotic christmas that can exist here in the US. No gifts for each other..we donate to charities instead. For our sons(grown) I fill a stocking with fun treats..they still love that. A nice family meal together. I find myself so calm when I'm out and about and I'm not involved in the Christmas rush. With all our decorations still packed from the move it may be just a wreath I make this year. Keep it simple😊
Very beautiful! A tradition I started with my girlfriends is we gather on the solstice for a wrapping party. There is usually three to five of us and we drink wine, have some simple snacks and wrap our gifts. We all look forward to it every year.
Greetings from Alaska. I really enjoyed you sharing your time with the rest of us. I am 72 years old and when I watch videos like this, it brings back fond memories of when I was a child growing up in very simple time. My mom and dad made and or built things out of natural resources including the cabin I grew up in. I miss those days very very much but, a new time is here and I/we have to do the best we can to keep things simple, like the old days. Thank you for sharing.
Tracee my friend, simplifying life takes time, decluttering is a nice way to start, appreciating quietness for reflection and creativity , getting in touch with who you are and what you wish for yourself 🤗and possibly even a bit of meditation for calmness ,create your home like a bird does its nest☺️ x
Tracee Leigh lovely advice given by others. Wanting to life more simply is actually the first step. Realising that you have enough is next and then you find you don’t have so much need for other things in your life. Gratitude starts to unfold and you start to rid yourself of what you don’t want in your life from things to people to work etc etc
Choose carefully your companions, both animal and human. And not too many. A mistake I’ve made: rescued too many animals and now I have to spend so much time frantically running from one cleaning job to the next until I’m completely exhausted. Don’t fall into that trap and don’t get too embroiled in other people’s drama.
I keep it simple and avoid the noisy and busy city centre of Dublin. I love candle light and I really have them all year round. I love the peace and calmness of this winter period, it is a time to look back taking the good things and learning from the "bad things" that might have happened, so that we can start the new year with renovated feelings.
We used to go all out but recently my parents and I really like the simple Scandinavian style. Yesterday I made a Christmas wreath using an embroider hoop, a few small Christmas tree branches, and a simple Nordic wooden snowflake ornament hanging down the middle. Simple, but beautiful.
I'm trying to embrace each season as they come not manmade holidays which can be stressful. I decorated my front covered porch with nature items. Put out lots of candles and a warm blanket to just sit and enjoy with my hot tea.
Please keep doing these videos for as long as you can. I sets me in the right path for the week when I watch it on sundays and sometimes I hear your voice in my mind when I find myself getting too stressed out about material things. All your hard work is greatly appreciated
Any winter activity is good with Chopin playing in the background! For me though, I prefer early morning walks in the fridgid yet invigorating cold air. There is nothing like being in the powerful scent of winter to connect you even more deeply to nature and yourself.
Hi Niamh, what a wonderful wreath you've created!! I've decided I'll do my Christmas tree tomorrow after cleaning the house, I love Christmas decoration even more than the festivity itself 😊 Like you, I love to live slow and take care of the people and pets I live with, in a clean, cozy and warm environment. It's my way to show love to my beloved ones and take care of my wellbeing too. Loads of love from a cold Sardinia ❤❤
I work in retail and seeing the hundreds upon thousands of holiday merchandise we get in weekly stresses me out so much, so thank you for this calming video. Imagine how much more meaningful the holidays could be if more people took the time to make their own decorations instead of buying mass-produced stuff!
Delightful wreath and lovely video. Thank you. I must repurpose that willow round that my brother in law made years ago. After a night of flash flooding (central Kentucky, USA), it is a glorious morning here and a good one to look for woodland garnish. Happy Yule! 💕
Each year less decorations and more meaningful Christmas for us, as the kids getting older there is less need to do everything perfect and this way we can really enjoy it. Fond memories of handmade toffee wrapped in last year’s colourful wrapping paper and my grandparents stories of simple living
I loved the fact that you've kept thing from the past and then reuse them for this wonderful creation. On the other hand other minimalist influencers insist on getting rid of every material possession. Both in ways are appealing to people favouring either. I'm drawn towards the thing you've done. Love. Light.
I absolutely love the simplicity in each of your videos which make me happy and calm, you really do not need a lot to feel good and make your life beautiful.
Here in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont we have plenty of varieties of moss to work with. Yesterday the dog and I went for a lovely walk and I took my gathering basket and gathered berries and branches for decorating. I use a homemade grapevine base and made my wreath and filled a few crocks as well. It is so relaxing to listen to you! Thanks!
I love using simple natural pine boughs as decorations this time of year. I have such fond memories of going into the woods with my mom as a kid to find fallen pine branches and pinecones to decorate with inside the house. Also, you have such a calming voice.
When I'm stressed or I have a bad day I've always come to your channel. You are my daily relaxation routine. I hope that everybody can have a beautiful and magical December.
Pretty Wreaths. Today during the snowstorm in NY I stayed in and cooked. I made sweet potatoes casserole, macaroni and cheese, and brownies. Warm tea all day and a bath. Laundry and wrapping a few presents.
I LOVE this! I do decorate quite a bit, but each year I give more away and only use what I have. I actually really enjoy the exterior decor more than interior because too much just stresses me out. Your wreath is beautiful!
I am definitely a Christmas person. I decorate the whole house. This year, I decided to do a woodland, natural theme and made most of my decor myself. 99% of my tree baubles are actually pine cones I collected while walking through the woods and glued twine to the top of for string. I find that Christmas and the new year gives me a chance to clean the entire house and I declutter a little bit every year in order to start the new year fresh. As it is summer in Australia for Christmas, the weather is perfect for doing chores around the home. Thank you for uploading such inspirational videos ❤️
No, sorry, no! Even thinking about crafting something makes me aggressive! I hate crafting so much, even the stupid little projects my elementary school son brings home make me angry. Creative crafts are NOT relaxing to everybody.
Tanja Hermann creativity applies to all aspects of life, not just crafts and arts. Scientists are creative. Engineers are creative. You are creative: you write!
Taking my lead from you, I have decorated my home Christmas with the lovely things of nature, and being blessed by having a cousin who let me take whatever I wanted from her farm! Thank you so much for your beautiful inspirations!
I keep the decorations simple, but you definitely made me think that I really need to slow down and take it easy...it's a part of nature. I'm taking that with me as my life lesson for today. Much love, xxx
Another lovely relaxing video! Most of my decorations are hand me downs so I have quite a few that I rotate each year. Also in the middle of the year a friend and I have a little tradition that we've done the last two years, of getting together for a day out and coffee, then getting matching baubles from a Christmas shop that is open all year. They always bring a smile to my face :)
thank you for this video. it was the perfect advent gift for me. my girlfriend made me a Christmas wreath last week, all fresh decorations, and I have been a little sad about eventually having to throw it away because all the things on it will die. it hadn't crossed my mind before that the willow base, I can keep, and redecorate every season for years into the future.
I adore your simple style inspired by nature! I often collect treasures on my adventures ; rocks, branches, bark or lichen. I set them out where I can look at them and remember where I was when I found them and how relaxing it is to be in nature. I actually have 4 smooth pebbles from one of the beaches on the Dingle peninsula when I visited Ireland in 2017. I’ve stacked them into a tiny cairn on my makeup desk and I hold them in my palms frequently and remember that beautiful place.
Your videos are so very relaxing to watch and to listen to! I’m going through a difficult time with a family problem and I get stressed out, so when I’m stressed I watch your video and you calm me down literally. Thank God for your pleasant personality. Peace to you. 🌺
Once again Niamh thank you for helping to start my day on a relaxing and inspiring note. Always look forward to Sunday morning video from you. Thanks from Canada
Every season has its purpose. Even nature - birds, animals, trees know that's it's time to slow down and let harsh time passes by. We humans should learn this from nature. If things ain't going in direction we want then it's time to slow down, do introspection, try to be more joyful, recollect and retain all strength bcoz after darkness comes dawn. Thank you for your wonderful videos and I am grateful for that.
I like your wreath. Just before watching this my family and I had been out on our annual green gathering walk. I do enjoy decorating out home but it is done mostly with natural things that we find in the woods and then odds and ends of other things that I have on hand. We do not spend any money on it unless I buy fresh flowers at some point during the season (because sometimes I do love to have fresh flowers). This year I did spend a little money to buy some rabbit fur and a little fabric (which I have a lot of but not exactly what we were wanting) to make new Christmas stockings. My daughter got married this year and we needed a stocking for our son-in-law and it seemed like a good time to make new, sturdier stockings for all of us. I made a couple of them yesterday and was happy with how easily they went together. We do enjoy the Christmas season with lots of family time, lots of music, the smell of greenery, some homemade gifts and good food. I will admit that I do still sometimes get stressed but our goal is to keep things simple.
Proverbs 31 Living such a lovely idea to make stockings for your children and son in law especially. You are kind and generous. Sometimes being aware of the stress is good (some never even notice until it’s too late)
I love this! To me there is something so cozy and “grounding” about using natural materials for decorating. I just constructed groupings of boughs of cedar and boxwood to hang over a couple windows and a doorway way, it was so easy and fun, all I needed was twine! I hope your December is treating you well!
Good Morning Niamh! Lovely video while eating my porridge, and drinking my hibiscus tea.... 🍵🍜 Perfect for the 1st day of December! My son has been visiting, and we cut down the top of a small pine tree yesterday, and today we plan on baking some decorations using ideas from one of your previous videos. But I'm now inspired to make a wreath with twigs and greenery scattered around outside here at the cottage. No moss, as it's getting colder, and the lake is freezing over. Looking forward to skating on the ice in about months time, it is Canada! Lol 😁 I'll send you pics of the tree all decorated! Have a super week! Take care, Tiina 😊❤🏡🇨🇦
I hold a wreath making day or 2 in my art studio every year for our community around a small wooded lake in NC. I’ve. Encouraged them all year to keep their eyes pealed for things in our woods. Leaves, twigs, seed pods, Magnolia leaves are awesome! I discourage them away from plastic or manufactured “Trimmings” and we all are getting very creative with pine ones (you can get a pretty thing when you cut and get the bottom quarter of one, It lies quit flat on the wreath and looks like a wooden flower, we have so many varieties of evergreen here in the south. Even the long needle pine. Wires and a lot of hot glue for adding little leaves and berries, you moss wreath inspired me for my own, which I do after everyone is finished...I use all the left overs. I hang a rescued piece of sleigh bells from the family farm. You had to put bells on the horses for there were no lights to show other sleighs where you were! I condition it abt every other year, smells so....evocative of winter.
My mother had a ribbon box and an enormous button bucket! I still have the bucket with all the different types of buttons and it reminds me of her. (She passed in 2017 from Alzheimer's. I miss her but she's always there). I like simple decorating. Living in the States (NY), people can overkill the whole decorating part of the holidays. Lights, more lights, lawn decor, blow-up yard decorations...it just looks hokey, to me. Simple and natural is nicer and make for more fond memories, in my opinion.
Ohhhh wow.....that's simply perfect hun! Thank you for sharing! We just shuffled boxes from our move to make room for our tree. Its still cluttered inside but its much better looking 😇
Nature pantry. I go into the forest myself and pick certain branches. I am sure the forest is big enough, can handle this, as moss grows etc. I have a shelf in my living room full of different branches of holly, acorns, etc, autumn leaves, in my pots outside my house.
Lovely! Decorating for any season means using old favorites. We are due for 18" of snowfall over tonight and tomorrow... so I will have loads of home time to sort out the decorations for the season- just enough to make it festive.
A lot of the videos I watch are exciting and busy and chock full of information. I love your channel because it it’s still informative and visually very pleasing, but in a calm and almost dreamy way.
Gorgeous wreath! Made with your own two hands out of nature and bits and pieces of things that you had saved. So far, no stress for me. Just enjoying putting up a few decorations in our new, old home, and spending some lovely time with dear friends. Blessings on you and yours during this holiday season! ❤️🎄☃️❄️
Your wreath is beautiful and inspiring. I have 2 Christmas wreaths that I don't love. We relegated one to be an outdoor garden wreath. I've wanted to use a grapevine wreath that I had and do something similar to yours for this Christmas. If I get it done, I will try to remember to tag you in IG. Thank you for all the inspiration to lead a calm natural life.
Lovely video. The wreath is beautiful. I love Christmas and particularly love decorating my tree. I have a lot of tree ornaments - most of them are old, and almost every one has a personal memory connected to it.
We spend tons of Money to buy stuff... Then throw it away... We often forget how actually simple life is... 🤗🌈
If anything, the stuff just starts to stress us out as time goes by. It creates clutter, makes us clean so much where we just move it around until we finally rid of it. Just to fill the void for a moment
Hope everyone has a cozy and meaningful December x
Thanks, and you too😊 from Spain
Thanks , from france , Paul !! have a lovely decembre !!

Yes! Also, there is no waste in nature. She is a divine design for sure.
We all need a little reminder to slow down in this chaotic world we live in, your videos do just that....Beautiful 🌳🌿💕
I taught my flatmate how to make willow wreaths this week. We had a lovely walk to go and gather things, and I dried some orange slices and gathered berries from the garden beforehand. It was a lovely afternoon ^^
Aly Class time well spent. X
Sounds beautiful
I honestly wish I could wrap your youtube channel and give it as a gift to people haha, it has helped me so so much (especially because I discovered it a few days after my dog passed away in October, felt like it was meant to be !)

I dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot my login password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
@Remington Stetson instablaster =)
@Fisher Troy thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm.

@Fisher Troy It worked and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out :D
Just listening to you makes me calm!
Marcy Mangion awh lovely to hear x
I used to make these wreaths. Now older and alone, I used dollar store items, a glue gun and made the most exquisite large wreath for my apartment door.
Silver, white and gold..yet with a large burlap bow. Makes me happy. Sometimes changes happen when long walks in the woods aren't possible. But we don't have to give up what we love doing.💕 we just adapt.
Phyllis Chaput adaption is key! I can visualise your beautiful wreath! Wonderful :-)
You voice is what is calming. I find I have too much peace and quiet. I get bored and restless.
Wildflower wind keep creating in those quiet times!
I love putting on Celtic Christmas music. Festive yet calm and cozy.
I love Celtic Christmas music as well. Do you have a favourite album? The one I am listening to right now is Magical Celtic Christmas, by Greg Joy.
You really have found your calling! Thank you so much for this great reminder!💕
Beautiful! You always remind me of the little things to be grateful for. Love and Home.
That is the purpose of her channel. Time to take a step back from chaos in our lives and just breath and enjoy nature and appreciate it.
@@Cindy-bee Yes, thank you. I realize this. I was just expressing my appreciation to her.

loomonda18 how lovely you found the channel. You are very welcome here xxx
Your wreath came out beautifully! Right now I’m knitting and crocheting small gifts for my two children and my niece. I’m almost done with a sweater.
Spiral Breeze ohh lucky family members!
Spiral Breeze how did the children enjoy their handmade gifts?

I set them out where I can look at them and remember where I was when I found them and how relaxing it is to be in nature. I actually have 4 smooth pebbles from one of the beaches on the Dingle peninsula when I visited Ireland in 2017. I’ve stacked them into a tiny cairn on my makeup desk and I hold them in my palms frequently and remember that beautiful place.
aerialnovice so beautiful. Dingle is a special place.
Lovely calming video. Thank you.

Your videos always bring me peace of mind. Much needed indeed. Thank you love.
Sandeep Mukherjee nicely said my friend :-)
Perfect for the 1st day of December! Lol 😁
I'll send you pics of the tree all decorated!
Have a super week!
Take care,
Tiina 😊❤🏡🇨🇦
Kristiina GypsySoul Oohh skating on the ice! So cool!
Have a happy time with your son and a fab week x
Also, thank you to the person behind the camera, who is doing a fantastic job of filming! Peace to them as well. 👏🏽
Cheryl Henninger less is more as they say! :-)
simplistic beauty! thank you and do keep sharing your decorated home with us this Christmas!
I have a willow tree, and a garden full of greenery, a park with cones.thanks for your ideas
I felt you were talking just to me today. Thanks for another lovely video.
Rebecca Oliver awh I’m glad it directly resonated for you!
That's one beautiful wreath! Amazing work!
This was a great way to begin December. Your wreath turned out spectacular. You would be a fantastic narrator for audio books.
Diane Chaniewski awh thanks! Better tell audio books that! Haha :-)
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Ohhhh wow.....that's simply perfect hun! Thank you for sharing! We just shuffled boxes from our move to make room for our tree. Its still cluttered inside but its much better looking 😇
Justine White hehe once the tree is up everything else will fall into place :-)
Nature pantry. I go into the forest myself and pick certain branches.
I am sure the forest is big enough, can handle this, as moss grows etc.
I have a shelf in my living room full of different branches of holly, acorns, etc, autumn leaves, in my pots outside my house.
Lovely to watch x
Lovely! Decorating for any season means using old favorites. We are due for 18" of snowfall over tonight and tomorrow... so I will have loads of home time to sort out the decorations for the season- just enough to make it festive.
Patrice Kilham wow stay warm my friend :-) x
A lot of the videos I watch are exciting and busy and chock full of information. I love your channel because it it’s still informative and visually very pleasing, but in a calm and almost dreamy way.
Gorgeous wreath! Made with your own two hands out of nature and bits and pieces of things that you had saved. So far, no stress for me. Just enjoying putting up a few decorations in our new, old home, and spending some lovely time with dear friends. Blessings on you and yours during this holiday season! ❤️🎄☃️❄️
Carol Miller blessings to you too!
You're right, I'm feeling very tired and with no energy. But this video has been inspirational, going to pick some moss from my garden!
Laura Bertucci hugs being sent to you. I hope you feel ok resting and being in nature. X
Lovely wreath, lovely calming video too.
Beautiful video and message. Many thanks to you. 💕
Your videos are like warm blanket on my frozen hearth and body. From day to day I am doing the journey to slow, warm world. Thank you :)
I absolutely love your videos. Thank you. I watch them several times.
Margarita Currie wow amazing. Thanks for loving them!
Wow, how creative you are, turned out beautiful. You have such a calming spirit. Thanks for sharing.
Tammy Leer awh thanks x
Your wreath is beautiful and inspiring. I have 2 Christmas wreaths that I don't love. We relegated one to be an outdoor garden wreath. I've wanted to use a grapevine wreath that I had and do something similar to yours for this Christmas. If I get it done, I will try to remember to tag you in IG. Thank you for all the inspiration to lead a calm natural life.
Lovely video. The wreath is beautiful. I love Christmas and particularly love decorating my tree. I have a lot of tree ornaments - most of them are old, and almost every one has a personal memory connected to it.
How beautiful and simple!
Lovely wreath...thanks as always
Peaceful, calm and beautiful!. Thank you.
