That is the hull of the original Bertram 31' boat "Moppie". She proved out the value of the deep-V hulls of the 31's in the early Miami-Nassau ocean races. Sam Griffith was the tough, race winning skipper! Beautiful restoration by the way and great audio of the speed runs...thanks!
Does anyone know the model engines this boat has and the sea trial specs? We are shopping diesels to repower our 1969 31 Bertram. Looking at 380 hp Cummins, specifically.
A lot of blood sweat tears money and time boat still a old design don’t ride good wet rolls a lot , in its time was the only game in town Nobody new any better so he should of bought a 36 Albemar or Viking or ocean 40☹️

Did you consider the 6bta 370 when engine shopping? Why did you go with the 380 qsb?
