I figured I’d try to save my phone before going in to upgrade it tomorrow just because it would never charge. I had little faith because I’ve never done anything like that before but thanks to you my phone lives on! Thanks man!!
This is common problem, and I am very careful! On my 3rd one in 3 years; mine is a Moto g Stylus (2020) think it is even the same part number! Hint there is a piece of foam rubber under connection ribbon that should be replace, as if the phone is dropped it can also dislodge and it prevents this, so sometimes it is just the come the cable disconnected, not the circuit board, so check it first! But this is not the best design for the charging port and it is not compatible with very many USB C replacements and most can't do this repair. I always keep a 2nd board on hand! The center pieces of the USB cracks, hate going without a cellphone when it just won't charge. Great video for DIY! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the kind words and advice! I will definitely keep it in mind 🙂 I love when I read comments where people share their wisdom 😊 I actually had the same problem a while after I posted this video. I bought another charging port from the same seller and the port shipped in with missing components. The pads were there but the components were missing. Obviously it didn't work lol. But I ended up fixing the replacement board I put in in this video. I found it got caked with gunk. I cleaned it out with alcohol and a pick and it's been fine since. That's an option you can try first too if the cable just falls out. Mine gets caked with dust because my day job is construction. But I also pulled some lint out too. But yeah I agree. These new C ports aren't as robust as older USB ports it seems. Luckily I haven't had any cracks yet. But there's a first for everything!
I followed this helpful video. However now neither my NEW charging port nor my old one will work. The old one worked but was finnicky. Now neither work at all and I cant figure out the issue. It appears to be seated. And the black and white leads are snapped on. Anyone have ideas?

Okay , at least I tried forced air but the real problem is something is bent such that the cord won't fit in all the way. Now I have another Moto G Pure in very nice condition . It was a Metro and locked . My service is with Spectrum . Saw a video on how to unlock with a $64 dollar charge versus 180 for a new phone. At least I pulled the sim card off. But I want the memory card to copy all my pictures , conversations , etc. Spectrum doesn't keep or provide back-up service. This phone with a 'C' port looks too similar to the 20 other cords I keep around from owning so many phones in the past that it bent or wore metal in there using wrong cord. Welcome to the electronic waste culture of the world ! With a drawer of older phones, one wonders what slight tweak can make the working phones stay alive. Is it planned obsolescence on machines not broken ? Thanks for reminding me of a useful technique with applied heat. It can be useful elsewhere .The 'tool' provided looks like a firm guitar pick . If this helped 2 people, your video is worth it . Thanks
I'm gonna be honest with you in that I don't have a clue. I have a whole tool kit so I look at the screw judge the size and pick out a bit. If it fits cool. If not I go up or down in size until it fits.
My phone has a problem with thecharger port, but i think it might just be A problem with it being somewhat old, but i have a solution currently. But, i was curious and searched this, i might try it.
If you do decide to replace it, try to only get the OEM part. I had an issue again after this video and ordered from the same seller I bought the one in the video from. It didn't work and comparing the two, it was missing a whole bunch of components on the PCB. So yeah just be careful who and where you order from 😊
Thanks for the feedback! Agreed 100%. I had issues in my earlier videos like this one trying to figure out camera angles and whatnot so my fat head got in the way too much lol. It's less of an issue now but I need an overhead camera system but it's just not in the budget right now.

That is amazing to hear! I'm so happy I was able to help and your phone lives on to fight another day. Great job 👏👏👏👏
Where did you get your replacement?

I'm sure Motorola is aware of the design flaws in the G series but doesn't fix it. Mainly why I no longer buy Motorola phones
Can you link the replacement part on Amazon please?
Best thing: I could understand you😊

Thanks for the example so I didn't make the same mistakes.

The USB port on mine didn't look right at all and the USB cord wouldn't fit right on it.

Always disconnect the phone battery before you work on the phone
What size Torque screwdriver did you use?

you might as put in a fresh battery while your at it. Then you will have a brand new phone.
I did think about it but decided against it since battery performance was fine and it's easy enough to get to if it does conk out.
Can you fix my phone?
It Will not charge 410 on. Can you help me? Because I really need my phone. Another way the screen is also black.
In future when doing informative videos, it might pay to keep your head out of the video so we can see what you are doing.

What was the video that you made? I forgot
