Great video.... Your girlfriend was my favorite part of the video because she gave a very down to earth perspective, was funny, and also gave a woman's point of view. You should definitely include her in more of your videos.
Question: Do people like their vehicles smelling fruity? All my cars smells like fabric softener because that is what I use. I just leave a fabric softener refill in my vehicle, no need to spray or wipe onto any surface. If I get tired of the smell, I just add another "flavour". I do use coatings/cleaners for the inside material, but for smell I stick to the above. I even used the same idea when we painted the house and my whole house smells like fresh washed clothes. I use Sta-soft refill bags because for some reason you can smell the flavour without opening the bag which is awesome.
Hi Johan! Yes the fruity smell is probably what customers like the most, especially women. But like any smell, you get used to it quick and don't smell it anymore after a while, hence why I like to keep many different air fresheners and use different scents. :)

Hi again Pan. A friend of mine here in Madeira island is now a Chemical Guys suplier. He has those air fresheners you are reviewing here. I was really into the Stripper scent until I smelled the bubble gum one...I bought the bubble gum. The 16OZ cost me 14 euros. Not bad at all
Hey, do the Chemical Guys air fresheners linger for a few days? Most of the reviews that I've heard say that it goes within a day, and since the price recently increased to around $10.00 for these recently, I want to hold off on buying some until I hear from more people. I keep my car clean all the time so no odors need to be masked.
It smells for a couple days but there aren’t many air fresheners that last forever. A trick I do is to put the A/C on full blast, air recirculation mode, spray a bit near the air intakes in the footwells. That way, the air freshener will be sucked into the ducts and lightly coat them. So everytime you turn the A/C on, you get a blast of fresh air. ;)

Hey Pan, not to put your girl on the spot, but she seems more of a sophisticated woman who likes scents made for mature women. Like floral or spicy scents. The fruity scents that manufacturers make are made to be more towards the younger people or just the ones that like fruity smells

Not sure I would do that. It would be too intense. And too polarizing (you either like the smell of a cologne or you don't). You can certainly try and see if it works for you.
Pan I have a big request. If possible could you do a review on the eikosha air freshener especially their squash. And maybe you could put that against the chemical guys JDM squash and see if there’s a big difference in smell and tell all of us what one you like the best. I would love to supply both products for you to do the review if you would like me to. Thanks.
I used the Summer Breeze Meguiar's bomb in my gf's vehicle, and she hates it! She actually likes the scent, after using Meguiar's M40 on the vinyl parts..

+Marcel Dutu Thanks Marcel! Never had that issue with matts. You can either get new ones from a different brand or try spraying a good degreaser like Super Clean or Meguiar’s Super Degreaser and brush them hard and rinse.
+Nic Nolan I usually ask the owner to smell the ones I have and to pick their favorite. They love that personal touch. The most requested ones by guys and girls from my collection is Chemical Guys Honeydew.
I have the Chemical Guys New Car Smell. It's ok for a short period, then I find it "goes off" and smells a bit strange. My favourite is Auto Glym Odour Eliminator, smells great!!

Not sure actually now that i think about it. Alcohol is probably to blame on that one. I used to do detailing very long time ago and was always interested in keeping my car clean just like my house and the rest of it. I guess you just popped up on my feed or something...

It’s a trick to have it last longer. You set your fans to air recirculation mode, you spray near the vents in the footwells, the product gets sucked in the ducts and coats the ducts. Then, everytime you open your A/C, you get a nice fragrance.
I bought the chemical guys' new car smell years ago after reading some super great review on amazon, and I just cant stand it. It smells too strong, I even diluted it on a 2:1 ratio with water and after a couple sprays under the car seats it smelled absolutely toxic. I have never tried it since then and i still have the bottle full... I might give it another shot, cause i freaking love a new car smell lol
+topchoice32 Couple days for sprays is the norm. For longer lasting scents you have to go with sticks (like Yankee Candle) or pucks (like California Scents).
Ideally, for a longer lasting smell, you spray them in the footwell area with the AC in full blast in RECIRCULATION mode, that way the fragrance gets sucked in the air vents and every time you restart your AC, you get a nice smelling breeze. Little trick of the trade! ;)
Pan TheOrganizer I don't use anything that smells! :) At least in the past those bottles also contained elements that probably are not good for your health t in the long run, it may have changed but I'm sceptic? I take the safer route with my cars. Did you folks know that the "new car" smell in new cars only is a cocktail of chemicals? Previously all of them were toxic but I hope nowadays they aren't that bad but haven't seen a more recent study about the chemicals used in new cars?
It's hard to know for sure what is bad for you and what isn't anymore. I just use common sense and don't overthink the moment. Scientists will soon tell us that the air we breathe will kill us LOL.

Yeah I change my smell every few months to but I do not like fruity smells for some reason.
I don't like the fruity smell much except citrus myself.

Air fresheners are meant for carpets and upholstery. They shouldn’t make the surface sticky. I have never seem that happen.
I had the same reaction to new car smell as she did. Total miss with that product.

I have the Chemical Guys New Car Smell. It's ok for a short period, then I find it "goes off" and smells a bit strange. My favourite is Auto Glym Odour Eliminator, smells great!!
I recently tried some Yankee Candle sticks for the car as suggested by many of my viewers... Love them!

Speaking of scents long story short my truck was a farm truck in a previous life. When I turn on the A/C I get a quick blast of "hog lot" which is pretty rough on the nose. What do you believe would be the best way to get that out?

It's very hard to talk about air freshener durability cause most of them don't last long plus it depends how much each person's nose gets used to the odor...
I'm now testing California Scents Laguna Breeze and Yankee Candle Coconut Bay vent sticks.

Not sure actually now that i think about it. Alcohol is probably to blame on that one. I used to do detailing very long time ago and was always interested in keeping my car clean just like my house and the rest of it. I guess you just popped up on my feed or something...
My friend's Mom was a "professional dancer and entertainer" so the "Stripper Smell" might actually give him fond childhood memories... Memories of doing homework in the back of the strip club...

Do you have a video on how to apply the air freshener? Reason why I asking is because I see people spray it all in the vents . Is that correct?
It’s a trick to have it last longer. You set your fans to air recirculation mode, you spray near the vents in the footwells, the product gets sucked in the ducts and coats the ducts. Then, everytime you open your A/C, you get a nice fragrance.
I need to go to their store to smell the stripper scent and vanilla.

I bought the chemical guys' new car smell years ago after reading some super great review on amazon, and I just cant stand it. It smells too strong, I even diluted it on a 2:1 ratio with water and after a couple sprays under the car seats it smelled absolutely toxic. I have never tried it since then and i still have the bottle full... I might give it another shot, cause i freaking love a new car smell lol
Yeah, you have to test products to see if you like them, as everyone's tastes are different. But when you find one you like, then you're happy! :)

Get midsummer night. It has a cologne type of smell but also clean/fresh smelling. You have to get it! They have vent clips and spray bottles.

Nope
Don't put it in a car when you're in it. Only run it when it's parked. It's not safe.
Only "car freshener" smell I like is my Zaino Z-10 Leather in a Bottle conditioner! :)

Couple days for sprays is the norm. For longer lasting scents you have to go with sticks (like Yankee Candle) or pucks (like California Scents).
My favorite is Yankee candles Coconut Bay! It's amazing but hard to find sometimes

One to two weeks. Air fresheners rarely last very long. Your sense of smell rapidly adapts to a new smell.

were do you spray these air fresheners?
Ideally, for a longer lasting smell, you spray them in the footwell area with the AC in full blast in RECIRCULATION mode, that way the fragrance gets sucked in the air vents and every time you restart your AC, you get a nice smelling breeze. Little trick of the trade! ;)
You can also spray them on cloth seats, carpets, floor mats...

At least in the past those bottles also contained elements that probably are not good for your health t in the long run, it may have changed but I'm sceptic? I take the safer route with my cars. Did you folks know that the "new car" smell in new cars only is a cocktail of chemicals? Previously all of them were toxic but I hope nowadays they aren't that bad but haven't seen a more recent study about the chemicals used in new cars?
It's hard to know for sure what is bad for you and what isn't anymore. I just use common sense and don't overthink the moment. Scientists will soon tell us that the air we breathe will kill us LOL.
