Career Kazuya main here since tekken 2, 40 years old, and this game has been my favorite game overall since I was a child. When it comes to "whats going on", its actually rather simple. This game no longer resembles Tekken anymore, whether it be its predatory monetization, its clear overtuning of aggression with massive plus frame and oki advantages, lopsided character design (jin has about 6 different armored attacks in heat, with multiple ways to enter it that are also hyper-armored, while Kazuya has ONE armored move that doesn't give heat on hit). Legacy fans already had a enough with the Rage art cutscenes added in Tekken 7, but we dealt with it under the assumption that Harada wouldn't dream of making Tekken any more messy. Tekken has always been the gold standard for skill-based and tight strike-fighting. Now its all guess work, and depending on who you're fighting against, you can literally be plus framed into being forced to block until you eventually are beaten (i.e. Dragunov). I've said this a thousand times, and I'll say it once more.. Its a decent fighting game, but a horrible Tekken game.

the issue with "overpowered at launch" dlcs is just making them free or giving like a demo on practice a lot of them are just getting knowledge checks by the dlcs and they can't really lab them with replay since you can't replay them it takes like a month for you to be able to do it, so yeah if there is a guy saying its pay to win it kinda is.

the casino game play was referring to the game has limited defensive abilities. So most of the time you have to guess the mix up. But Bamco has already made some updates that favors defensive play in the last couple patches.
Time did not change, Polyphony digital give free updates ( cars and tracks) for severals years after launch of GT7, the game costs 70$. So to charge people who paid for the deluxe or ultimate edition for a stage releasing in just a few monthes is pure greed. If the stage is costing money, why tracks and cars don't 🤔
Just drop Miguel and Kunimitsu. Also balance the comeback mechanics like in 7 you had to choose to either rage art or rage drive. Heat replaced rage drive so why should you be able to use both heat and rage arts in the same round?

@@akpade With how braindead offense can be in this game, it's good to have something to encourage careful and strategic play, instead of just mashing. Also if you have a gap of 7 frames or less you'll get hit out of startup and it won't even play the animation or start armor. It's not particularly good, it's a mild check to slow your opponent down when you're effectively one hit from death anyway
Heat Bursts are still stupid BS. You need a hard read to step these thing but your opponent just has to delay it and you block it giving them free +1 and armor. I'm surprised Heat Smashes aren't talked about more often because 70% of the time the reason ranked sucks my mental energy is Heat Smashes. Plus on block into stance 50/50 that is straight up guessing and no option select or getting hit for 60 damage or potentially a combo with stage gimmicks. You're telling me people want the tracking nerfed on these things when so much else is so unfair about Heat Smashes? Your opponent presses 2+3 simply and meanwhile you have to time your sidestep and think of which direction to step? Pathetic. And of course then we have Rage Arts that do 25% damage and are power crushes that aren't even beaten by lows.
I think it’s best in Tekken 8 they fix Heihachi Mishima. They should fix Heihachi and make him into a non canon character in Tekken 8 including his story. They should also make Heihachi’s story a non canon as well. Because of that, everyone can enjoy playing him in the game. They should remain Heihachi Mishima completely dead in Tekken 7.
Lidia dlc 2 back to back eddy a t3 character is dlc and heihachi got killed just so he could cost money though i do like what they did with him it still feels scummy to make legacy characters cost money
Really the only thing that keeps me playing is how ignorable all the DLC/MTX stuff has been. You save money by buying characters seperarely ($8) and I made enough coins off the first rwo BP's to get the third, and theyre super easy to complete compared to other games. $5 for a stage isnt even that bad imo, although character pass and deluxe/ultimate owners should've been given it for free
Selling a stage is ridiculous in this sort of game. It just feels like they’re stripping the game for parts to sell to you. It screams that they’re more interested in fleecing the consumer rather than providing a game or even a service.

I think this game is actually pretty balanced but the high t its are so high to the point they’re on their own tier but even some of the other characters that are annoying to go against people just get mad because they don’t know that match up also the map packs for bo2 were 15 dollars but I do think that the game will get better and I do think that it will looked at as a really good game I just think it’s been a bit rocky to start out the release

Pay2win because you don't have access to DLC characters to learn their move set and lab them. It has nothing to do with them being busted or not. Even the weakest DLC characters might beat you if you don't know the match up. This can be solved by letting players try the characters in practice mode.

New characters must be available in practice regardless if you payed or not. There are many gamers who dont want to buy these new characters but instead want to lab em instead. Fir theses gamers the new characters should Only be available in practice mode. It is clearly pay to wjn. Its disgusting. I think the original sin is that characters have to be payed for and we somehow accepted that long ago. That stage is in comparison almost cosmetic. I think we have to accept that games are becoming more expensive. It is still cheaper than many other hobbies and sports.
@@KoufalKoufax Once you get to around blue ranks it's important to learn most matchups in the game, at least the common ones, you're unable to take dlc into training mode and practice against them, and your unable to do replay takeover to practice against them. Once you reach a certain level of Tekken it's a genuine disadvantage to only get matchup experience the 1-2 times a day you fight the character
Man, I'm telling you many of the Tekken community is gonna regret how negatively whiny they're being in the future, and they're gonna look back at T8 favourably. 2XKO is a 2D tag fighter, I don't think any long time Tekken players will care about it. What we really need is new Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive to get some competition back in the 3D fighting game genere, currently Tekken is the only 3D fighting game left on the market so bandai namco doesn't have to really try hard to keep up with anyone.
I never complained about tekken 6 that was the most fair balanced game. One mistake didn’t cost you 70% health and holding your controller for 10-15 seconds for a mf to finish one combo. In tekken 6 in order for me to lose I would have to keep making mistakes and you couldn’t just throw out moves hoping they hit which then lead into 70% combos and you holding your controller for 10-15 secs for one combo. You would get your ass knocked out spamming moves unlike spam 8 which locks you down the more buttons you press and the more combos you fight the air with.
I’m actually happy with tekken 8 and this is how a fighting game should be like being aggressive add offensive rather than always blocking like in tekken 7. I am new to tekken and this game is insane and being a 3D fighting game adds so much depth than what most people think.
No disrespect but that's why you don't see the difference because you're new to Tekken. I've been playing since Tekken 1 and this game is NOT TEKKEN. Mechanics KILL neutral, it's going straight into the bin if nothing changes. I've played basically all levels of play, from a beginner to a tournament scene so if they want Tekken as a franchise to LIVE it needs fixes asap. We need people to learn FUNDAMENTALS not MASHING for full screen, homing +7 , forcing mixups moves. Then you go online and see max rank Dragunov who can't play the game with no knowledge or movement with 40 defense stats. You go to tournaments you see top 8 filled with Dragunov. Doesn't make sense and pros and commentators say the game sucks but they need sponsors.

Making it fun to spectate but when it comes to actually playing the game it feels miserable getting locked down and having to guess which was less of a case in past games. Sometimes watching Tekken 8 tournament matches can also get boring because of the gameplay, an example is the Atif vs Nobi match or Ulsan vs Atif match.

Considering how broken fights were in Tekken 7 with no chip damage allowing the player to stall all game(potentially) im very grateful for the heat system. As the creator said. Tekken is MEANT to be an OFFENSIVE game! So now timing iut your opponent is not that optimal an option anymore.

I think that's a great way to put it. Decent in terms of being a fighting game but I don't think Tekken has ever been worse.

Rage arts aren't even used in most matches, one time at most as a decent combo ender

I never complained about tekken 6 that was the most fair balanced game. One mistake didn’t cost you 70% health and holding your controller for 10-15 seconds for a mf to finish one combo. In tekken 6 in order for me to lose I would have to keep making mistakes and you couldn’t just throw out moves hoping they hit which then lead into 70% combos and you holding your controller for 10-15 secs for one combo. You would get your ass knocked out spamming moves unlike spam 8 which locks you down the more buttons you press and the more combos you fight the air with.

I’m actually happy with tekken 8 and this is how a fighting game should be like being aggressive add offensive rather than always blocking like in tekken 7. I am new to tekken and this game is insane and being a 3D fighting game adds so much depth than what most people think.
No disrespect but that's why you don't see the difference because you're new to Tekken. I've been playing since Tekken 1 and this game is NOT TEKKEN. Mechanics KILL neutral, it's going straight into the bin if nothing changes. I've played basically all levels of play, from a beginner to a tournament scene so if they want Tekken as a franchise to LIVE it needs fixes asap. We need people to learn FUNDAMENTALS not MASHING for full screen, homing +7 , forcing mixups moves. Then you go online and see max rank Dragunov who can't play the game with no knowledge or movement with 40 defense stats. You go to tournaments you see top 8 filled with Dragunov. Doesn't make sense and pros and commentators say the game sucks but they need sponsors.

I see why it doesn't feel like a problem. Because when you compare it to most fighting games it's good and fun but an abomination in comparison to past games.
@@SnowflakeSSQ Hmm but Tekken 7 was horrible right watching tekken 7 tournament matches are making me sleep because they are boring. All they do is throw counter hit launchers which are safe throw out and mix in some lows. Neutral is horrible too.

Making it fun to spectate but when it comes to actually playing the game it feels miserable getting locked down and having to guess which was less of a case in past games. Sometimes watching Tekken 8 tournament matches can also get boring because of the gameplay, an example is the Atif vs Nobi match or Ulsan vs Atif match.

Im cool with tekken 8. It seems we have a skill issue in the comments. Over aggression can be neutrailzed by armor. Over doing armor moves can be neutralized by grabs. U see what im doing here? Theres literally a answer for everything... U just gotta learn to put it together. Yall want boring korean backdash defensive just run all day tekken. That was way worst then this could ever be. Cause at least in 8 u can rush a chump down! In 7 u literally had to chase grown men around the screen

Considering how broken fights were in Tekken 7 with no chip damage allowing the player to stall all game(potentially) im very grateful for the heat system. As the creator said. Tekken is MEANT to be an OFFENSIVE game! So now timing iut your opponent is not that optimal an option anymore.
The best Tekken for me is 8. Sick of Turtles and Dancng Guru in T7. Fightng Game should be like this. Not some 3d Dance Dance Revo lmao.
