For the novice hunters out there, Big Daddy Dagoth of the House Unmourned has forgotten to mention the importance of tanning your newly acquired pelts, without which they will quickly rot and fall apart, even in the harsh artic conditions of Skyrim. I recommend washing and brushing your pelts in a bucket of brine consisting of alcohol (Honningbrew seems to work best), very high concentrations of salt, and, if possible, Mammoth’s piss. Yes, your pelts will smell like a Giant’s latrine for a while. But, the smell will somewhat fade away after air-curing your pelts for a few days, after which your pelts will become sturdier and more resistant to wear and tear as you travel the wilds to hunt for more pelts. And, in case you’re wondering, you can find these mammoths roaming the planes of Whiterun. Just keep your distance as you wait for one to unload, and wait patiently for the mammoth and accompanying giant to move away a good safe distance (unless you want to be launched high into the heavens by a giant’s club) before quickly scooping as much of that foul golden liquid with a good sturdy bucket. Use a good size skin bladder with a good cork to carry that piss around with you on your travels. Yes, you can use your own if you want to, but your pelts won’t hold together as well as those washed in mammoth’s piss. And, I wouldn’t recommend asking the drunks that come stumbling out of taverns for their contributions either, unless you want all your teeth and ribs smashed to pieces. One other thing about mammoth’s piss is that it smells so foul that it can be used as a last ditch deterrent against your attackers, be they man, mer, or beast (doesn’t work on daedra though). Just throw that stinking liquid on your foes and run like Hircine in the wilds, your attackers will be too busy coughing and retching from the smell to give chase.
Dunmer: *moves the crossbow so it points at him* Dunmer season. Khajiit: *forces the crossbow to point at himself* Khajiit season! Fire! *gets shot dead*
I like how he educates people on the Lore about Khajiit, like a "know your enemy"-type of thing. Or in this case, rather a "know your farming tools"-thing
Despite being off great age, that wild mer might as wella fellow hunter. They might worship a god that was literally eaten and shit out again, but they are still mer.
These travel guides have been immensely helpful for planning my next trip! For a novice cat hunter do you recommend a guided hunting trip or will I be fine with some fireballs and destruction fortification potions? Keep in mind I have extensive experience in Black Marsh capturing farming tools for my Kwama mine and for their gamey meat that goes great as a stew with ash yams. Thank you Lord Dagoth.
As more experienced hunter I can offer some insight. A guided hunting trip will make it easier for a novice hunter however it is illegal to hunt Khajiit in Skyrim for some reason so you may have to find an illegal Khaj hunter I recommend you head to Riften it should be East to whatever hold you start on and head into the warrens you'll most likely find a Khaj hunter there while this might get you a guided trip there's no guarantee that there will be a Khaj hunter in Riften and the journey will be costly so I don't recommend the Guided trip. If you decide to go on your own I recommend you stick close to the outskirts of western holds like Markarth and Solitude there's generally a lot of Khajiit around those areas however Solitude may be the safer hold since the area around Markarth is home to Mad Bretons called the Forsworn it would be best to stay clear of them and while yes there are many Thalmor around Solitude they don't attack on sight so it would be more safe. If you're using magic I wouldn't recommend a flame spell as that would burn the pelt and overcook the meat instead you should use frost spells that would keep both the pelt and meat fresh speaking of which you should also regularly pour salt on any unused furs and meat to keep them preserved. The Khajiit themselves seem to travel mostly in groups of 5 with 2 or 3 of said Khajiit being the defenders of their group I would recommend going after them first to get them out of the way also since these are most likely going to be Cathey Khajiit their footprints will look similar to human footprints however there will be a subtle difference Khajiit prints tend to have fur on them and may leave an aroma so keep your eye out for those. I believe that should be everything happy hunting.
Smear, “LIVE LAUGH LOVE” on the walls of High Hrothgar with your own poop. The Greybeards will teach you a new, secret shout if you do and it will be funny.
It's impressive those coats and furs! House Unmourned for the Best hunters, but it's a shame companions can't be skinned... Perhaps if they're alive as you skin them?
Is this how you honor the Sixth House, and the tribe unmourned? By referencing the tools of kagrenac? Aah such a grand and intoxicating innocence.. To forsake the chance of saying "Strike that Bell with the Sixth House bell hammer"
Considering the Khajit were created by Azura… is this tradition just a F you to her after changing chimer to the dunmer? Cus killing your mom’s pet cats just because you are pissed at her isn’t cool. Just saying
I have a entire group of baandari stuffed in a blocked off section of my mansion in auridon, I used a spell to put out their fire one night and hunted them down one by one, was rather disappointing, thought they’d put up more of a fight
Dagoth Ur should absolutely explore the Dwemer Ruin's. There's Blackreach too, and I here there's supposedly a lost Dwemer Palace unclaimed. Would be better then staying with a bunch of N'wah Nord's.
Lord Dagoth, many blessings upon your most illustrious name. I offer a trade of 2 crates of Mazte and another of Sujamma in exchange for 3 Khaj pelts. I desire some new tapestries in my toolshed, the farm equipment has been rather unruly lately.
I enjoy Dagoth mostly because he hates every other race aside from Dunmer, which I can get behind seeing as I like to embody Pelinal Whitestrake in every playthrough of elder scrolls games.
And people call me the monster for setting Dunmer orphans on fire and letting them loose into Dunmer populated towns after juicing them up on Skooma. By the way, still alive!
I find myself trying not to think about Inigo when watching a video about Dagoth Ur hunting Khajiit when he’s not looking to rip people and factions a new one. Yes I know he’s a modded character but he’s too good to *not* think about.
Truly a tragedy that the Empire so carelessly outlawed this timeless tradition of the Dunmer people.
Exactly, what a shame.
erasure of tradition :( As always the empire continues to be racist fascists

This must be the golden age for Elder Scrolls meming
