Red beard when using hose clamps forget the flat screwdriver the head on those are 5/16 much easier to use

I hate flat tip too, especially on hose clamps. As a skid steer and excavator mechanic I learned a long time ago to use a nut driver or socket on an extension, 1/4" drive. Usually 8mm. So much easier. Also, you may loose a little hp with the intake until you get the exhaust done, more air in/more air out. And to maximize and really wake that engine up it should get tuned after the mods.

You should watch engine Masters and Mike Finnegan's Channel because filter choice and intake choice does make a power difference.

Actually depending on the engine CAI and even SRI will make more power over a stock airbox.
nice truck, sounds good. Just the K&N filter will gain you the horsepower that the intake loses. I changed just filters and felt the difference it made.

I would love to see the f150 build
back when i did auto detailing, i hated dealing with chevys. cheap plastic interior with sharp edges and they felt gutless. my favorite to detail was the hemi charger. thing got up and hauled butt. loved it when i had to go gas up a charger. even the chrysler 200 had more umph than a newer chevy malibu. thing was towing a boat anchor, or so it felt like anyways.

Noise is all you accomplished that filter just heat soaks and kills power your pulling hot air now witch with is less dense air with = less power! But does sound mean as hell!
And i rip oil bath filters off all the time they will f**k up a mass air flow readings and make fuel trims all put of wack most times causeing lean on acceleration which = detonation spark knock what ever you wanna call it just be careful for maf will set codes if a stock air filter is put in wrong there that finicky to the slightest bit of turbulent air i learn this working on an entire fleet of those trucks in thr aftermarket after the dealer was done filling them with bullshit repairs that weren't fixing anything

Bryce Eisner Hell no, it needs to stay naturally aspirated. He would have to drop $8,000 because it would need to be tuned. Also when you have more power than the factory set up you will have to get your oil, coolant, and transmission fluid more often. If he was making some big numbers with the turbo, then only god knows what the driveshaft, differential and transmission would have to say about that.

36 Volts Son Nope, no naturally aspirated vehicles would like it. Turbo engines = 3x more maintenance. I’m sad nobody wants to argue with me. 😞

Just bought a 2013 STX 5.0 I wonder if you guys could do a video of the old air intake with the little boxes and little muffler devices on the main tube cut off and sealed up and see what that sounds like

Depending on the vehicles stock airbox design you can gain hp and tq from swapping, but the washable filters pay for themselves and make it worth it alone lol...

I also wanted to say some vehicles don’t need a tune to get more power from an Cold air intake. The people that did those cold air intake Dyno tests are stupid because they completely missed the point. They were supposed to compare a square paper mesh filter vs a cylinder air filter. I can’t believe red beard didn’t see that they were both the same type of filter and the mcm Honda had an package from aem that Honda sold at the time. That’s why they lost power. Argue with me if you think I’m wrong, I’ll surly prove you otherwise.
Are you planning on keeping the stock plastic tube? One of the fittings on mine broke off. I ordered the ebay unit you picked up, but I would rather keep the fuel economy numbers/power numbers of the stock tube. :)
What did you do with your old truck you trade it in or keep it for a beater?

Edit cold air intakes make power but not a enough to feel when driving
Douglas Bigblock on my 350 chevy I flipped the air lid and got rid of my 02 sensors and it was a noticeable difference surprisingly
That intake video was stupid. The Honda already had a cylinder free flowing air filter, the test should’ve been against the standard paper mesh air filter. That’s why they lost power, I have an 05 ranger with the 4.0l (I know about the timing chains) with an 63 K&N intake. I can tell you I definitely gained power, I could most definitely feel more torque, but let’s be honest you can’t feel 6.5 more hp.
